Checked in fine... Late arrival due to work schedule.. I thought all was going to be awesome... I had confirmed days prior to arrival and there is a note on all my reservations. **down allergies family** attention to detail is the Bottom line! I am a gold elite bonvoy rewards member and appreciated the warm reception from the front desk staff... So first thing is first.... I have a serious down allergy. That means with down feather pillows that I come in contact with it could lead to a hospital trip. It was listed on my reservation.... always is... Didn't happen. I took (6) pillows down to the front desk and dropped off. I thought an apology would happen at some point from management...not so much. Roger- Front desk staff said have a good night after finding pillow on about a 7-10 min hunt...... again it's past midnight at this point... I will clearly chalk this up as a fail for Towne place/O'Reilly Hospitality management company.... as this seems to be missed by several of the Marriott chain hotels...and I continue to be loyal...(head scratching I know) The 2 star rating was given because the check-in experience was having me at zero stars...but the staff working was superb!! Smiling and friendly. The front desk person a day later even came up with some bug spray as we had ants crawling along inside our window. Lesson learned. Will stay elsewhere next time in the area. Unfortunate experience Management sent me an email a day after checkout. Questions just reach out! Respectfully, Bryan Yukon, Oklahoma

When we arrived there was no one at the front desk. Waited and finally they appeared. Room was a queen with a sleeper sofa and small. TV was very small and could not see from the bed. The bedside tables did not have anything with a usb port. The bed is hard. Super hard. Pillows are pretty good.

I also appreciate how they have a large snack bar, breakfast, ice cream, and bottled water. In fact, I'm currently having an apple while writing this review. Our king suite is very clean and organized. Although we won't be needing it, I like the idea of a curtain separating the bed from the rest of the suite. And I also like the night light for the restroom. The sliding door for the restroom is slightly difficult to find at first, but that wasn't that much of an issue for us. The air conditioner is somewhat loud, but I feel like it could be used as white noise for people who enjoy ASMR, white noise, ETC. The chair that goes with the desk is somewhat bouncy, but comfortable. I enjoy spinning in it. I also like the mini kitchen. Not that we personally will be needing the dishwasher, it's still nice to have. I appreciate how all of the floors have ice machines. The one on the 4th floor is out of order at the moment, but they haven't put a sign up stating that. I quite enjoy the general layout of our suite. The restroom is very cozy. Small, modern, and minimalist, which really suits my style. The shower was very comfortable as well, the water warm. To top it all off, I enjoyed my second cup of hot chocolate from the lobby--it's been a cozy little experience. I had a good night's sleep overall. However, the neighboring room had their TV on quite loudly, and I could faintly hear it through the wall while lying in bed. The air conditioner also woke me up a few times during the night. The selection of breakfast food was decent. It took a little while for my mom to figure out how to use the waffle machine, though. A sign with instructions would be nice. There were plenty of places to sit. It's slightly difficult to find where you put the dirty trays. I also think there should be a sign with instructions for that. It's very quiet down there, which I apperciate. The check out process is very simple and fast. We will be back in the near future.

Other people had been waiting 2 and 3 hours to check in, or had to haul luggage up 4 flights of stairs to their rooms, whereas we waited 15 minutes to check-in and had to go up 1 flight. Thirty minutes later, the elevators were working, too. The woman working at check-in was all by herself and incredibly pleasant, even as she was understandably frazzled. I really wished she had some help. Or a big hug from someone at the end of the day. I hope the company recognizes her for working hard in extraordinary circumstances. We had a suite, and it was spacious. Our teenage son used the fold out sofa bed while we had the private bedroom. A bathroom was accessible from both rooms. The kitchen at the entrance included a full size fridge with big freezer, which was great for solidifying the packs from my cooler. There was also a microwave, dishwasher, and a coffee pot that we didn't use. We did find a broken thing in the room, the security brace at the door. We tried to set it, and it fell onto the floor! We let the front desk know about that as we left. The bathroom was handicap accessible and had a tub with a hand wand as well as an overhead nozzle. Everything in the bathroom functioned. The bed was comfortable. I couldn't hear noise from the corridor during the night, but there was noise from occasional trucks and that was quite loud. The overall location of the hotel was nice. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance. Lots of gas stations and other shops, too.

They're spacious and don't look like a chain hotel, with a cookie-cutter layout and amenities. We've stayed here before and the only complaint we previously had was the lack of open restaurants (weekdays, only 2 options) and something to do besides gamble. With Joplin only 15 minutes away, you're not going to starve. Compared to other casinos/hotels, Downstream is left a bit lacking. I know this may sound weird, stating you didn't want to gamble in a casino, but this place is a convention hub. So they could add something to accommodate the variety of tastes of visitors. But the facilities are very nice!

Funny she chose this casino. She just wanted to relax, use the spa, swim and gamble. As I right this it is 8pm at night and we still have not been able to access our reserved rooms on her 60th birthday. I tried several times to speak with someone in authority about our situation and was given the RUNNAROUND. Eventually someone told me that a lady named Kelly was in charge of the entire casino at this time. I as to speak with her to explain our situation. She showed up and after explaining everything in great detail she told me there was nothing she could do. As check in time was at 4pm. Remembernwee arrives at 1230 with prior reservation weeks ago for her 60th birthday. She said it was policy and she had no authority to make exception. She said she would check into the matter immediately, which she did and got back to me. She told me the same thing that check in time wasnatn4pm and there were no exceptions per policy. Even though I explained to her that we are members and come her often and have never had this problem even without a reservation. She said she wasnsorry that is policy and there are no exceptions. When I asked is there were managers above her it was like pulling teeth. Wow, this was my wifesn60th birthday. I am sending this as a future customer service courtesy. I have been a top executive for a city before I retired and good customer service was and is a priority, and yes, sometimes there are certain circumstances where things go wrong and fall through the cracks and don't align with policy. That's why we have management on duty to correct those some what unfair mishaps, as they do occur from time to time. Kelly make it clear she had no such authority to rectify our situation. So my wife never had access to the spa or pull. If the tone of this email indicates that I am more than frustrated, to put it politely, I AM PISSED!!! Sorry, but it was my wife's one single special 60th birthday celebration day and choose your establishment. What a severe let down. I will be posting this on every social media I have access to to share our horrible experience. I really hope some one reads this and make some changes in the future toward good customer service! Thank You
