This is a very nice and newer hotel. They have an indoor pool. The keys work like the Tap feature on credit cards. You don't have to struggle with the slot reader like most hotel door locks. The hot food at the free breakfast was excellent. The suite had a mini kitchen with a full size refrigerator, and a range with multiple cook tops, plus a sink. Parking was plentiful in the parking garage which is hidden from the street. And it's free! read more

We stayed at this hotel from our way from California to Joplin, Mo. We booked three rooms for our party of four and found them to be all clean and spacious considering there was a full refrigerator, a countertop stove, and a stove in each room. In each bathroom there was penty of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash offered, as well as towels. Even though there was renovations going on the first two floors it was quiet in the early mornings while it was going on. The hotel also offered a free breakfast for all their guest such as eggs, bacon, potatoes, and different other types of hot breakfast foods they switched daily such as quiche and burritos. And, there were other types of items available such as a variety of cold cereals, hot oatmeal, bread for toast, and bagels. We met Leslie who did the cooking and made sure there was plenty of everything for everyone who came to the dining area. She was very friendly to everyone in the dining area too. She deserves a 10 out of 10 for excellent customer service. And last, but not least, we would like to give Tracy, who worked the front-desk a 10 out of 10 for her friendly and welcoming customer service too. Thank you ladies! read more

I stay at a lot of hotels and there's three major things I'm looking for, clean, comfortable and quiet. TownePlace in Joplin is very clean, the property is very nice and well maintained. It falls short on quiet as I can hear the people walking around above us, if you must stay here, REQUEST 4th floor (top floor). Last and most importantly comfortable, I'm baffled by hotels that buy the cheapest mattresses and pillows available. Sleep is what you are selling us! Not food or entertainment, SLEEP! It's what you do! Cheap mattresses is like Gordon Ramsay using powdered milk, it doesn't happen. If you're looking for a good nights sleep, I'd recommend someplace else. read more

Easy enough check in. Front desk just asked for my ID and provided room key. Room itself was ok, older appliances, telephone and furnishings were a bit dated. This was an unexpected stop so requested toothbrush kits and extra feather pillows through the app. Apparently they don't offer feather pillows, so not sure why they are listed as an option? The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, clearly not anywhere like the one we had at the Four Points by Sheraton. Pillows were foam and quite thin. Location close to cracker barrel was nice. Breakfast was ok, scrambled eggs & sausage patties. Nice loaf with walnuts & waffles. Breakfast server was friendly. read more

Checked in fine... Late arrival due to work schedule.. I thought all was going to be awesome... I had confirmed days prior to arrival and there is a note on all my reservations. **down allergies family** attention to detail is the Bottom line! I am a gold elite bonvoy rewards member and appreciated the warm reception from the front desk staff... So first thing is first.... I have a serious down allergy. That means with down feather pillows that I come in contact with it could lead to a hospital trip. It was listed on my reservation.... always is... Didn't happen. I took (6) pillows down to the front desk and dropped off. I thought an apology would happen at some point from management...not so much. Roger- Front desk staff said have a good night after finding pillow on about a 7-10 min hunt...... again it's past midnight at this point... I will clearly chalk this up as a fail for Towne place/O'Reilly Hospitality management company.... as this seems to be missed by several of the Marriott chain hotels...and I continue to be loyal...(head scratching I know) The 2 star rating was given because the check-in experience was having me at zero stars...but the staff working was superb!! Smiling and friendly. The front desk person a day later even came up with some bug spray as we had ants crawling along inside our window. Lesson learned. Will stay elsewhere next time in the area. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk. Waited and finally they appeared. Room was a queen with a sleeper sofa and small. TV was very small and could not see from the bed. The bedside tables did not have anything with a usb port. The bed is hard. Super hard. Pillows are pretty good. read more

Right off 44 and easy access yet not on a major road. Its a clean little hotel, small rooms yet fully equipped with a refrigerator and a stove. Beds are pretty comfortable for a $100 a night hotel with a a/c unit in the room. (no central air) They do have a very good complimentary breakfast that my daughter loves which if you think about it, that saves you a minimum of $25.00 that you don't have to go out to eat with 2 people so for sure an added value. read more

This is a great road trip hotel - very clean, the aforementioned brilliant design, friendly staff, and a hot breakfast with extra nice touches like Sriracha! We weren't familiar with this new Marriott brand but we really like it for road tripping and will use it again. I'm writing this review on behalf of my active duty military husband who had the unfortunate event of marijuana smoke entering his room through the vent in his bathroom. He fell asleep, & when he awoke he was gagging on the smell of marijunana smoke in his room. He is required to be periodically drug tested so he was extremely upset & very concerned the contamination into his room could negatively affect a drug test outcome for him. He went to the front desk, & reported the incident, & requested a different room. He also requested they write a letter for his employer to back up the fact that his room had been contaminated at no fault of his own. They did give him a new room, but management was 100% unaccommodating in writing a letter for him. They also will NOT throw people out who are smoking in the building! They allow smokers!!! They told my husband that they allow pot heads, because pot is legal in MO. Police also do absolutely nothing because pot is legal. The hotel will simply charge a 250 dollar fee to someone who smokes in the room, but they will not escort the rule breaking smokers off the property!!! Therefore, it's an outright lie for them to advertise that they are a non-smoking hotel!!! Management was so rude to my husband who has made many sacrifices to serve our country. Disgusting owners! We will NEVER stay at that hotel again!! read more

My husband, son, and I stopped in while on a road trip. We decided to stop and rest, and chose this hotel because it required the least amount of points for Marriot rewards members. We first noticed that the hotel was very clean, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. Once we got to our room, it was nicely decorated and extremely comfortable. My son and husband also enjoyed the indoor pool as well. To top it off, the hotel is within walking distance of a few restaurants. We stayed here in Jan 2008 as we were moving from California to Indiana. This hotel is quite new and was very nice. We checked in quite late but the front desk staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was included in the morning and consisted of cereal, hard boiled eggs, toast and pastries. Pets are allowed, with a non-refundable cleaning fee of $75. They allow up to 2 pets and have no breed restrictions. read more

As we travel to Oklahoma City, we found this newer hotel on the south side of Joplin. Updated, clean accommodations await the weary traveler. Positives: comfortable, affordable, and clean. Negatives: small, cramped bathrooms, small breakfast area, tiny pool (which was way too chlorinated and cloudy), no hot tub. Great place to stop for an overnight, but don't plan on staying longer than that! read more

The good, the bad, and the dirty. Location and price are good. The breakfast is nice, with biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, and waffles. The room has a good layout and is comfortable. The problem we had was the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom needed to be swept (hair on the floor), also the shelves in the room hadn't been dusted in some time as we were able to write our name in the dust. The cleaning person didn't address this after the first night, so we made not to the manager the next day as we checked out. They were going to address it, and seemed concerned. We probably would stay here again as the overall stay was enjoyable. read more

My Husband, daughter, our 2 English Bull dogs and I stay here was awesome. It was our first time ever staying but I still would give it 10 stars. Found this hotel online and I am soo glad I did. We stayed over the new year and our room was $79. It was huge and new! We had two very comfortable queen beds and a full kitchen. There is only one mirror which seemed strange with the amount of space there was. The bathroom was clean and had a tub/shower combo. They even allowed us a late check out (2pm) due to the holiday and my husband and I being Marriott members. The front desk staff ( Michelle) was so helpful. We lost our cards and she didn't complain or frown just helped us get new ones. She also recommended a cab company because we needed to get downtown and it was great. Even when we came in late she smiled and was very pleasant and personable. This place definitely deserves a 5/5. Location wise it is a little farther from downtown but it was well worth it. I was surprised at how clean and spacious this hotel was. The room had a kitchenette with glass tableware in it and I was able to make real coffee in the morning, which was a huge plus for me. Stopped and stayed here for a baseball tournament. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are nice and clean! Free breakfast with your stay. There was a variety of breakfast choices, but keeping the food filled was slow,so give yourself time. Breakfast consisted of fried eggs, boiled eggs, cheese slices, sausage patties, muffins, toast, sliced bread, bagels, soy milk, skim, whole, orange juice, cranberry juice, coffee waffles,oatmeal, yogurts and fruit.
