DO NOT GO HERE. I first contacted this office in early November because I need sedation dentistry due to severe dental anxiety. I paid a large deposit upfront because I wanted a one-time visit to get everything done and reduce stress. Instead, it's been nothing but problems. First appointment: I arrived as instructed and waited over two extra hours past my scheduled time. I went to the front desk multiple times asking for updates, and each time staff would go into the back and come back with nothing. Eventually, the anesthesiologist himself had to come out and told me not to worry, to leave and drive around for another hour, and to not eat or drink. That was ridiculous. I walked out. While driving home, I spoke with Nicole, who verbally promised there would be zero issues going forward. We agreed I would be the first patient on the 18th, that I would arrive five minutes early, and that if I wasn't taken back within ten minutes, I would walk out. Second appointment: I showed up on the 18th expecting to move forward as agreed, only to be told my appointment had been automatically rescheduled to December 23rd without my knowledge. Nicole did call, but from a different number than the office, which my phone flagged as spam. The new date is the day before Christmas Eve, which I'm not available for and forced me to cancel plans. So much for "zero issues." At this point, I still haven't received treatment, and this will be my third time walking into this office. I'm only continuing because I'll lose my deposit if I don't. What was supposed to ease my dental anxiety has made it ten times worse due to constant delays, poor communication, and random scheduling changes. I'll provide a third update after December 23rd, but based on everything so far, this office is disorganized, unreliable, and not appropriate for patients with anxiety. read more

OMG! Where do I begin? I find this dentist office after performing a Google search for dentists near me who sedate patients. I was reassured by Nicole that they would definitely sedate me to remove some bone fragments which remained after an Implant extraction. After putting on one of the best dog and pony shows I've ever seen and wasting one hour of my time they attempted to extract (pun intended) additional monies out of me for unnecessary elective bone grafting and if I refused they would not sedate me! How's that for blackmailing me? How's that for making me feel all warm and fuzzy? Needless to say I quickly realized that I was wasting my time and quickly exited their office. Phony. Fakes! They're so fake they are syrupy! Game playing clowns in a three ring circus with a doctor who is equally evasive and greedy. It's all the money. They knew I had money and tried to force me into bone grafting and passing me on to yet another dentist! They saw a pigeon. They thought they had scored. I foiled their game plan by getting up and running out the door! So if you're considering patronizing this clown then here's my advice. Run like your the last two monkeys boarding Noah's Ark and it's starting to rain! A real circus show. Unbelievable!!! Total losers and liars! You e been warned folks! My sisters used to see Ricardo Rodriguez before he started working here for braces work and now he no longer works there. He was good and service was still all right. What I didn't like was how I one time went to go pick them up and they asked one of them when she could come in for her next appointment and she just chose a date that she thought would work I'm really surprised on how they can ask a 12 year old girl at the time without telling her parents about increasing charges. read more

Nikki at the front desk has hands down done a great amazing job both times I've been in. Jaime the dental assistant is also great walking me through the process as well as making sure I am okay every step of the way. This review is not for the dentists but for the management and their lack of customer service. They suggested a procedure to which I requested that a preliminary service request be submitted to my insurance company. When received the office failed to explained what was covered and what wasn't. They assured me that the amount I was responsible to pay was very affordable. Based on this information I agreed to the procedure and put together a payment plan. Months later I get a bill for over 200% more than what I was quoted and they have failed to return my many phone calls asking (sometimes begging) for an answer. My insurance company says they never submitted proper documentation to proof the need of the procedures done. It's very frustrating, but they send the bills right one time every month which, up until now, I have been paying. DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS If your want to receive decent customer service when it comes to billing issues! Note: i left a voicemail to both the billing office and the main office and I'm still waiting for a call back! read more

They were very friendly at the office. I went in for a routine cleaning, and then had to come back in to get two routine cavities filled. After the cleaning I got an infection back near my wisdom tooth, which has never happened to me before and lasted for about two weeks. When I came back in for my cleaning they gave me a quote of it costing me about $80 with my insurance, after everything cleared they wanted another $198 based on what my insurance paid. They used materials that my insurance didn't cover. On top of that, to look at my infected wisdom tooth they charged me another $101 that my insurance didn't cover, but didn't even quote me or say a word about any costs for that one. So I owed them an additional $299, on top of the $88 I already paid. Called to talk it over, at first for they explained for the x-ray cost that insurance wouldn't cover it because of x-rays I must have had in the past that they had no insight into, so not their fault and they thought my insurance would cover 100%. Then when I proved to them the only x-rays I had was at their office, they then just said it's a type of x-ray not all insurance covers. They then also said the material they use was just something some insurances couldn't cover, but offered no explanation why their quote was so unbelievably off. Wouldn't help me out with even a cent of the payment. The people in the office are super nice, but when it comes down to it they purposefully use the most expensive materials and tools without regard to your insurance, even if they are a preferred provider, and have no problem sticking you with the rest of it and offer no assistance afterward. Be warned. They'll really stick you and just place the blame on your insurance... $380 out of pocket for a cleaning and 2 fillings. read more

Thought the work was good. The dentist and nurse were friendly. The customer service along with billing were terrible. The estimate that they gave me along with the initial payment were wrong. I ended up receiving an additional bill months later. I asked for a statement to call my insurance company. The next letter I received was actually a collections letter threatening to notify credit bureaus. I did end up paying, but I thought the methods to get a higher payment were pretty shady. read more

Can't say enough about Grand Dental and their crew. First off I have never used Grand Dental, so to get the treatment I did was beyond my expectations. I was in severe pain do to my own negligence of getting 2 wisdom teeth extracted. I called them as a last resort and was told they could see me in 20 minutes. Within an hour of being there, x-rays were taken and a game plan was formed. Shortly there after both wisdom teeth were extracted and I was on my way. I cant thank them enough!! I have been going to Farnsworth since I was six years old (I'm 30 now) and have had every procedure out there from a cavity filled, to a root canal, to veneers. This place is absolutely the best. I have visited other dentists when I lived out of state for college and couldn't wait to get back here. Everyone is extremely nice and accommodating - front desk staff on back to hygienists and dentists. I've never had a bad experience. In fact, I've lived in Chicago for the last eight years yet still make the trek out to Aurora for my six month check-ups. Highly recommend Farnsworth! read more

I am 33 yrs old and have been going to Farnsworth Dental since I was a kid. I began seeing this group when I live in Aurora and since moved to Elgin. I didn't mind traveling for good service. I always had the same dentist who was warm, friendly and it was always nice to visit with him. A few years ago it appeared the office was sold to a larger group, Grand Dental, and things went downhill. The dentist I knew and was familiar with was not seeing me anymore but that was ok. I figured he was off or busy. My hygienist was great however the front counter staff was curt and telling me I owed money despite having insurance that covers each visit. Long story short I began to be overcharged and I built up a credit. At no time did they give me a breakdown of costs or an explanation of charges. I requested my credit be issued back to me four times over the course of nine months. I will never do business with them again. And it was a difficult decision to make. read more

The only reason for 2 stars is because the people that work there are nice and friendly. However, I've never experienced a dental practice that is so "sales focused". They are so aggressive in up selling and pushing for other work well outside personal budgets and insurance coverage. The worse part is that myself and spouse have had work done and that broke or wasn't done correctly within months of work getting done. I think if they focused on the reason patients are there AND only one patient at a time, they'd be amazing. Again, the staff is nice and their follow up is amazing. But the doctor leaves you hanging for a while to go attend to another patient or go deal with an urgent matter every time we go here. It wouldn't bother me if there wasn't issues with the work later on. read more

Dr. Davis is incredible and her staff, if it's possible, just as GREAT as she is. First off, this office doesn't smell like a dentist's office and doesn't feel like one! High ceilings, great music playing (Dr. Davis often sings along - which is normally not so bad) and very friendly staff. They are open to doing as much education as needed (or none if you're that type). Every time I've been in, I've left thinking "That was a great time". Which is funny, seeing as it's a dentist appointment. I've had a cleaning and exam as well as aa filling. I'm happy I found Farnsworth Dental Group and highly recommend them! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I never write reviews and this time I cannot in good conciseness not say anything. This office is a SCAM. I switched to them after my son had gone here and we had been having relatively good experiences with them. During my first visit, which was just to be a routine cleaning, they took x-rays and all of a sudden have 12 cavities and need crowns on my two front teeth. WTF! I was in shock and in tears. How in 6 months after my last cleaning (at my prior dentist) could I all of a sudden need all of this work?! Red flag! Stupid me didn't follow my gut instinct and go get a second opinion so I had a few of the fillings done and they maxed out my dental benefit for they year not allowing for a second cleaning for the year...red flag #2. After a shady interaction prior to my son's dental appointment, I pulled our dental records and have since left the practice. Fast-forward to today after seeing my old dentist again, shared my records with them and they confirmed my initial gut reactions which were all of this work is unnecessary and you are fine - you do not have 12 cavities and you do not need crowns on your front teeth. HA! Just save yourself and do not go here....please do not. SO happy I left and didn't have any more work done. read more

I found Farnsworth Dental Group on 1800Dentist.com this morning. I called and was able to schedule an appointment today. I have not visited a dentist in 6+ years and was a little nervous when I arrived. EVERYONE at this office is not only nice but extremely friendly. I felt at ease as soon as I walked in the door. I received wonderful treatment and was treated extremely well. I would recommend this practice and Dr. Davis to anyone looking for a dentist in the Western Suburbs. The staff is willing to work on payment options, and research billing and insurance issues wit you. My son even won tickets to a magic show that the dentist was the magician. I have been going to Farnsworth Dental for a little over 8 years and they are hands-down THE BEST dental practice around. I moved to the area and really only went to them because my son's Ortho, Gary Grundeman was there (he was also in Elk Grove where we were moving from). I was so happy to find them! I am real hesitant on dentists...there seem to be a wide range of quality and professionalism, and you never know what you are going to get. My first dentist in this Practice was Dr. Perrington. He was AWESOME, and is the benchmark I will rate any dentist or doctor against. He was personable, thorough, always explained every procedure in simple terms that I or my kids could understand...and of course was a great dentist. Unfortunately, he passed away and we started working with Dr. Davis. She is very similar to his...but quite a bit more cheerful and funny (very infectious laugh...and great smile). The hygienists are great, the offices are clean and bright, and the equipment is all state of the art (I got to watch the process of them making my crown right there in the office...first the 3D model on the computer screen and then in the crown grinding machine...very cool). Although I have to now go find a new dentist (BOO!) since my company's insurance is not in network, I would highly recommend Farnsworth Dental and would not hesitate to switch back if I can in the future. read more

This review is long overdue. I went into Grand Dental in Aurora with severe wisdom tooth pain. I was treated by Dr Yanez, I was so grateful for her warm compassion and overall bedside manner. She was so professional yet very down to earth which is hard to come by nowadays. Dr Yanez and the entire staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had been a patient for a few years. They put a crown on one of my teeth and a while later the same tooth needed a root canal. They did the root canal and saved the crown. After about 6 months the root canal got "HOT" again and they found that there was one canal that was missed. During that procedure they broke the crown and charged me 50% ($700) I thought they should have covered it since they missed the canal but NO. Not going back. read more

Office and dentist were friendly, but always wanted money up front. One visit, I knew the insurance would cover it, but they insisted we still owed $350. Then I found out insurance paid that in full and had to get a refund for that $350. Then my daughter went in for a checkup, first time for her there and was told she had to get 11 cavities filled and our cost was $2300!! (after insurance) Really! She had sealents put on all her teeth when she was younger. They then talked her into putting the $2300 on my credit card BEFORE services were rendered. AGAIN, REALLY!! I had to call and get a refund which they were reluctant to do. That dentist put on a crown on a tooth for me, then a root canal on the same tooth. Always seemed to be sore for about a year after. After the incident with my daughter, started going to a new dentist. He had xrayed that same tooth and thought the filling where the root canal was done looked bad. So he re-did that crown. When he took that old crown off, he found some cotton still in my gum area that this dentist left! UNBELIEVABLE!! My crown is much better and also feels better. No pain anymore! Probably was getting infected. Do not go here! Very unprofessional practice!! Surprised they don't have any lawsuits. read more

Grand Dental is great, I make the drive from Geneva for my entire family's care. We first saw Dr Gonzalez for a mouth injury my then 2 year old son had when we were living out of state and visiting, and he was so compassionate and helped to calm a frightened child who was in quite a bit of discomfort, and give us as parents the information we needed to monitor and follow up. We now live closer and all of us come here. My kids love it, and I personally am pretty anxious about sitting in the dentist chair but cannot rave enough about the gentle but thorough and informative care with hygienist Kristin today. I recently went to Dr. Davis after going to a horrible dentist. I was very nervous but she quickly calmed my nerves. She is the best. I didn't even feel like I was at the dentist. Dr. Davis is a 4th generation dentist and it seems like she loves what she does. She is VERY positive and took time to learn about me before starting. She even called me the next day to make sure everything felt fine and sent me a thank you card for coming. Everyone in the office was happy and cheerful! The staff is always laughing and very helpful. They explained what they were doing to me which put me more at ease. I cannot say more positive things about this dentist group. Do not go here. They have lost x-rays, lost impressions, and just been generally dishonest about how much things will end up costing me. I'm not sure if this is just a result of incompetence or them deliberately trying to rip me off, but either way it's really not something that I want when I'm going to a dentist. I live in Glen Ellyn, but a co-worker recommended them to me and although it is a bit of drive since I don't work in Aurora anymore however, I still go there because they are so good. I've been going there for 11 years. I feel their practice is unlike any other dentist I've seen they really take care of you and are willing to accommodate. I have seen three different dentists there but now I see Dr. Steve and he is AMAZING and NICE. He actually personally called me after putting in a crown to see how I was feeling and if everything was okay. He truly stands behind his work and cares The hygienists are really friendly and gentle. I am a bit nervous about dentists and have had bad experiences at other places in the past and now I don't mind going to the dentist they take their time and do a great job. You don't wait a long time either they are great on their scheduling. It's definitely WORTH THE TRIP!! read more
