I've been going to Dr. Kapadia and the team at Kirk Family Dentistry for over a decade. In that time, they've handled a number of different treatments -- cleanings, cavity fillings, a couple of crowns. This office is unlike other dentists because in some ways you actually enjoy going. They are all very nice and friendly, and do a good job explaining what they're doing. When it comes to procedures, they've always been peaceful and gentle. And if it's something more challenging or stressful, they are patient in helping you through it. I continue going back to Kirk Family Dentistry (even though it's not close or convenient for me anymore) because I trust their expertise, and that they will do a great job. When it comes to services like dental work, having that peace of mind is the most important thing. read more

Very disappointed with Kirk. After being a loyal client for over 7 years and never being late to one appt and never cancelled within 24 hours. The first time I called to reschedule day of was the Tues after memorial day. I called before the office opened at 9am tues 5.30(office was closed since the Fri prior) about a 115pm apt that day and aftee asking to talk to Dr Z, barbara would not waive the 50 fee even though I had a death in the family and couldn't make my apt that day. I asked to speak with Dr z and Barabara refused. She said if we give you this exception we need to do it for all. As per some other reviews, it looks like you gave other multiple waivers but thanks for not giving me this one depicte the death. I will no longer get being recommending this facility. I have been a patient for years and in one case experienced a lot of pain from some repair work and basically was ignored. Another cleaning and one more procedure had to be done. I was skeptical , fearful of my last experience but assured they would make sure I was comfortable. Well shortly after the next expensive procedure I had a severe allergic reaction and was advised by my allergist who tested me to find out what materials were used. I wasn't getting a response from Dr. Kapadia so I stopped in to ask for MSDS (material safety data sheet) I needed to investigate what was causing my terrible skin reaction. I did not receive what I was requesting, ingredients! After insisting she emailed the names of about four or five of the products she used. I never accused them of anything just looking for relief and a little compassion to help a girl in distress. Well screw that I got a $78.00 bill for asking what did you use in my mouth? They are now holding my x-rays as hostage until I pay the balance of $28.40 after the insurance bill they submitted. so much for customer service, loyalty or compassion. FYI I asked several services I use for ingredients and everyone was nice and did not charge me for that simple request. Kirk Family Dentistry has been good to me and my Family. I've been here multiple times and have enjoyed my experience and advice. I'm always greeted with a smile even though I'm always late to my appointments due to my work schedule. They have allowed me to set up payment plans when our Insurance only covered a portion of my sons dental procedure. They send text reminders and emails for your appointments. Everyone here is excellent and very professional I would definitely recommend them for all your dental needs. read more

Dr. Kapadia and her staff have one of the most welcoming, bright, calming dental offices I've ever been to and glad I made the switch. I had moved away from my old dental office and was looking for a new dental office to begin going to. Kirk Family Dentist is just around the corner from my apartment and on my way to and from work each day. I looked up the office on Yelp and saw great reviews. I gave them a call and before I even went in for my initial first visit I had a great chat on the phone scheduling my appointment. With that said, I went in for my first visit and couldn't have been happier with the care Carie and the Dr gave me. They both listened to me and gave me a great plan of care. I was very pleased and happy I went in. I told my fiancé about them and she made the switch too. She as well as myself couldn't be happier with the entire office and everyone at Kirk Family Dental. This is after number of years of seeing Dr. Kapadia and spending thousands of dollars with the practice. We were dinged 50 dollars for it. I happily paid the 50 dollars but the tone of my conversation with them (borderline rude) turned me completely off. No business which treats its customers in such a condescending way will get my business. We happily moved to another practice closer to our home with equally good (if not better) practitioners." The review above (on google) was followed by a tirade against me by the doctor - "Thank you for your feedback Pankaj. We have truly enjoyed taking care of your family at our office. Out of respect to my team and myself, we do expect our patients to be present at their appointments and have a $50 cancellation fee for appointments missed. We have extended this courtesy to your family twice in the past, and unfortunately had to charge you for no showing your most recent Saturday appointment that you confirmed. I understand your frustration with the front desk, but my staff works under my direction, and I can only provide the best care if our office policies are respected by our patients. We wish you the best of luck with your new practioner. If you need any help with the transition, we are at your service." And this was my response to that condescending and factually incorrect tirade "Dr. Kapadia - Your response to my original review is factually wrong. This was our first (and not third) missed appointment as your response would suggest (over several years of working with your office). If you get into public arguments with your customers (which you clearly are doing here), that speaks volumes about your customer service skills. I again reiterate, I did not have the problem with sticking to your policy and paid the 50 dollars. You and your staff made me feel like a criminal (and your response below) is directionally proving my argument. When we were made aware of the missed appointment, your scheduling person literally shouted at my wife. I would read their Financial Policy very carefully before signing. Personally I think you would have to be an idiot to sign this agreement. Read the section entitled Regarding Insurance. It reeks not only of arrogance but you would have to be retarded to agree to this. Essentially it says we will bill you for whatever we like regardless of what agreements we have with your insurance company and you will pay the difference. I love this, and I quote from their agreement: "Please be aware that some, and perhaps all, of the services provided may be non-covered services and not considered reasonable and customary under the terms of your insurance policy... ...we charge what is the usual and customary for our area. You are responsible for payment regardless of any insurance companies arbitrary determination of usual and customary rates." I love the snark in the above. Sheeh, what arrogance. For all I know they could offer the best dental services in the world, but I shall never find out as I do not sign blank checks for dentists that allow them to arbitrarily fill in with whatever they feel like they need on a given day. read more

I would not go to just any dentist. I've had some bad experiences in the past. When my previous dentist retired, I asked my son about his dentist, whom he was very pleased with, and that was Kirk Family Destistry. I have now had two encounters with them, and have been totally satisfied. The professionalism and friendliness of all staff members has made my visits most enjoyable. In response to your comments originally posted on 4/21/17, Dr. Kapadia, I find your passive-aggressive use of my first and last name (which were not mentioned in my original review, and are in violation of Yelp's privacy guidelines) highly unprofessional, especially considering that I did not refer to your "office manager" by name, and simply exemplifies your callous regard for one's privacy. (Thank you for having since removed my full name.) Second, although my last "visit" may have been a while ago, the matter, as you are aware, was not resolved until recently. In fact, the issue was not "readily addressed" until I filed a complaint with my insurance company to reach a resolution with you, and then filed a complaint with the BBB to obtain your compliance with that negotiated resolution. Third, all of this could have been avoided had you just agreed to my offer of keeping what we had paid you to fix your own incompetent work, stop pursuing us for the denied insurance claim of $100, and each going our separate ways. Instead, you chose to not respond to my requests, and sent a mere $100 bill to collections. And in the process, your office sent one of my children's complete dental AND medical records to an uninvolved third party in absolute error, and forced me to resolve that violation as well. Simply stated: Dr. Kapadia is VERY GOOD at what she does. Most notably, Dr. Kapadia did an AMAZING job capping my upper front tooth, which I had broken in half a long time ago. (For years, this tooth was 'fixed' by other dentists with a semi-temporary bonded composite...which didn't look great. You could always tell I had a half-fake tooth.) Dr. Kapadia went the extra mile to give me a permanent fix. The color of the cap perfectly matches the other teeth, and the shape is the same as the original tooth dimensions. From making the appointment to working on an insurance claim this team was A+ professional all the way, and so gracious. I had not been to the dentist in several years and was very nervous. This is the first time I've ever reviewed anything health related, but after coming I knew I needed to give the necessary kudos. I cannot believe it myself that I am giving a dentist a five star review- It's a DENTIST after all. Although, I can assure you not all dentists are created equal. Therefore it is my civic duty to review. So basically my work offers flex-spending accounts and this money I pay into it was heading to its expiration date if I do not use it before the years end. Needless to say its crunch time for my health visits. So I researched some places via yelp and Kirk Family Dentistry had a few five star reviews- so I took the gamble and called them to book an appointment for my family and I. First of all, I appreciate that they do not have stupid hours- the days and times they are open make them accessible and easy to book. My husband had his appointment first and came back raving about our dentist. The place is beautifully decorated with modern design. Mouthwash, lotion and other essentials inside the restroom were a nice touch. Coffee and NETFLIX!! out on the TV in the waiting area. Although, we never waited more than a couple minutes before we were called back. The hubby and I both loved that the dentist and the staff took the time to explain in detail our specific teeth, their positioning and recommendations for an overall healthy mouth. I've never had that- EVER. Our daughter, 4, also had her "first" cleaning. I say first because we tried to take her last year to another dentist and it was a horrible experience. The other office we took her to tried to separate my daughter and I to give her the cleaning. To me, this is an obvious no-no, especially on her first ever visit, and needless to say that appointment ended before it began . So fast forward to yesterday were they treated my daughter like she was VIP. They gave her sunglasses so the light wasn't so bright in her eyes and they let her pick out her cleaning flavor/ toothbrush color. This may not seem like a lot, but to a four year old it is a big deal! I appreciate anytime someone can make my girl feel like the special lady she is! The attention to detail in this office is unmatched. Sometimes when you give a great review on a place you really enjoy- you fear your secret getting out- this is one of those times. The location itself is so nice- it looks clean, new, and has a modern feel. She has a computer and coffee machine available while you wait but I honestly didn't wait more than a minute when I went for my appointment. Just call for your initial appointment and you can fill out paperwork online before coming to speed up the process. The place is located in a shopping center in aurora. The dentist actually comes in initially to speak with you which is a nice change of pace. She took the time to explain what she was doing and go over any questions with me. She spent the entire time with me discussing my teeth and she was so nice and sweet. She said I needed a lot of work done which made me concerned at first, but my friend recommended her and stated that she has told her in the past that no extra work was needed. This made me feel better- like she wasn't just trying to make more work for more money. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. She is also one of the more affordable dentists that I have found in the area. I didn't realize that dentists can charge whatever they want for a cleaning. I went to one that charged $100 per corner of mouth just to clean! With her insurance would cover it all- not for me though because apparently I need more work done :( but if you floss more than I do t should work for you so give her a try! read more

Dr. Kapadia is a terrific dentist and you should be a patient of her's. She is sincere, knowledgable, and listens. She is both my dentist and orthodontist. I was never happy with how my invisalign turned out from a previous orthodontist and did a quick refresher with Dr. Kapadia and things turned out very well. I also had a crown fail from a previous dentist and she explained why in terms of the choices made in the previous crown material and its durability. I had my second appointment at Kirk Family Dentistry and I was extremely impressed again. By their suggestion at my last appointment, I brought my almost 3 year old with me so that she can see what the dentist is all about. Both Lisa, my dental hygienist, and Dr. Kapadia were so extremely warm and kind to my daughter and I. Lisa even put on a show on a Netflix for my daughter to watch in the room while I got my teeth cleaned. This allowed me to relax and not have to worry about my daughter being all crazy. Ha. I could go on and on how impressed I was with the dental tools, the cleanliness of the entire office and how professional and kind the entire staff was but I'll run out of room! Dr. Kapadia is very friendly, however, that does not make up for the less than great experiences I have had. My first appointment went well (I came in because I had one specific tooth bothering me), and then I went back to the office two times after that to get some other cavities taken care of that Dr. Kapadia found. My problem is that my bite had to be adjusted on multiple occasions (from what Dr. Kapadia told me, this is the case for some people) however I just don't see how that can be the case. I have had fillings done in the past and never had an issue with my bite - it was a one and done situation. I feel that the job was not done thoroughly enough the first time, and rather than owning up to that, I am given excuses making it seem like it is MY fault. After my second appointment to get my fillings, my teeth were very sensitive. I figured that I just needed to wait a while to get used to it. Two months later, my teeth were so sensitive that I could only drink room temperature fluids and eat foods that were soft (I couldn't eat cereal, chips, certain meats, etc.). Now I have to schedule my fourth visit, and I was not happy. I emailed the office and it was very clear that I was not happy. I was dreading going back because the receptionists have bratty attitudes - though they try to fake being nice the best they can - and sitting in the waiting room makes me feel uncomfortable and awkward. After Dr. Kapadia evaluated my teeth, she informed me that my teeth are basically "bruised". This is because my bite was off for those two months that I waited, and since I grind and clench my teeth a lot, the enamel has worn down causing the sensitivity that I feel. I was told that I should have come back earlier on, but like I said previously, I shouldn't have to come back to the office FOUR TIMES to get my bite adjusted - it wasn't easy adjusting my schedule and making time to go back to the office all of those times. I was given a prescription toothpaste for sensitive teeth and it was recommended that I buy a DenTek mouth guard at Walgreens that I can wear while I sleep (it's the best substitute for getting impressions and paying to have a guard specially made for me). I am just so displeased because I went to the office to take care of one tooth that was bothering me and the end result is like, ten times worse. My teeth are super sensitive, sometimes to the point where I just don't even want to eat because I don't want to feel that discomfort. My husband switched to a highly rated dentist in Naperville and he is very happy there. I plan on doing the same. This dentist's office was unfortunately a massive waste of time for me and the receptionists/ staff are not pleasant. read more

We chose this dentist since it was close to where we live but never regretted coming here. My kids do not dread seeing the dentist and I have good experience with root canal. For a year we transferred to another dentist in Aurora due to change insurance coverage. I couldn't wait until the year was over so we could change back our insurance and see Kirk dentistry again. They were right, the staff is the most friendly and helpful I have ever had the experience of working with. Carrie did a great job, taking her time cleaning my teeth, I couldn't be more pleased.
