The caller told me he was calling "From Delta Airlines to invite me to celebrate the grand opening of their new service center in Rock Hill SC"... and that to thank me for participating in their celebration, I would "absolutely walk away with two free adult round trip tickets to anywhere". I listened politely until he gave me the address -- Yup, Grand Discovery at 739 Galleria Blvd. I told him that perhaps he should not lie so much -- or work for a company that asks him to lie so much. I should have asked him to rename the company "Grand Deceit Consultants". Come on guys... get a grip. Bad marketing does not pay. I joined this company from their Garner NC preview center June 28th after being advised that a week anywhere would cost $550 plus a $25 booking fee along with an annual fee of $159 only to be paid if you use their service within that year. I would call into customer service and make my request they would email me to confirm, then they would send me my options. I called, they emailed me, I confirmed my request asked them to proceed, and hadn't received any information since. I recieved a call at some point from a woman named Lisa who informed me they were working on my request yet I hadn't received any offer thru email as the sales office said I would. I emailed Christy, and asked since it has only been 3,5, or 10 business days since I signed this contract (due to the billing and the 4th of July holiday) with their company if I could get a full refund and advised her of the information I had found out this morning July 10th regarding  ADA rooms and resort/hotel policies, Christy informed me no, I only had 3 days to cancel my contract with their company. I asked her where that paper was since I had all of my paperwork in my folder in front of me and I had been looking for their cancellation policy. I asked who I needed to speak with to get all of my money back and get out of their program, I informed her of the information regarding resorts and hotels letting her know that my handicapped daughter had to have a roll in shower also letting her know I just found out that no reservation service could guarantee my daughter the handicapped room that we would get only the resort/hotel is able to do that and you have to be on their property ready to check in before they informed you of the type of ADA room you would get. Christy stated No since I joined their program and paid the initial $3245 on June 28th I couldn't get a refund told me she was emailing with her supervisor and would transfer me to him. Christy transferred me to the actual owner of the company. When speaking with Marvin I asked him for a refund letting him know that I had found out earlier that morning there were 3 types of ADA rooms for handicapped people and only the resort/hotel could guarantee me the type of room I would receive and only once I arrived on their property would they be able to do that. I advised him my daughter has a roll in shower chair and had a complete spinal fusion and could not use just any handicapped shower. He told informed me my issue was truly me trying to get the date of 12.26.19 since it is a Thursday. He stated since I owned a timeshare that i should know I could only go from Friday til Friday or Saturday to Saturday. Which is super NOT the case. Marvin also proceeded to tell me that he had in front of him the right of cancellation policy that I signed which seems to be the only missing from my book piece of paper! Stating I only had 3 days to be entitled  to a full refund. It's only been 3 business days since I was charged $159. Also, this company told me I would have to wait to do anything due to the July 4th holiday. I plan to go back to the Garner location and ask for a refund in full and file a police report along with a ncdoj complaint and will hire a lawyer to take them to court to recieve my monies back along with contacting the Federal level of ADA association to protect the rights of my handicapped daughter. Which all of this could have been avoided with them refunding my money. After speaking with Marvin and being denied a refund you can clearly see what you are promised in the sales office before you speak with his son at the end, is most likely all untruths and their company is not legitimate. =( very sad this man would try to put a single mom with a handicapped daughter is this situation. This company called me claiming that I "won" free airfare for 2 anywhere in the Country, all I had to do was attend their 60 minute (no wait, probably 90 minute) presentation. After telling them I wasn't interested, they called me again today and told me that I won a Brand New Ford Truck and I needed to bring my spouse, 2 forms of ID and listen to their brief travel presentation to receive my "gift". The amusing part was the girl kept saying we'd have to go to "Rocks Hill". The town is ROCK Hill ma'am.. if you're going to Scam people into your condo timeshare at least pronounce the name of the town correctly. read more

This review is for GDC in Rock Hill, SC: Wife and I went in for an appointment last Sunday and were handed over to Jennifer from Greenville, SC. Our session started off positive and Jennifer was very nice and informative. Everything sounded awesome. My wife and I were getting extremely excited.....until we were told it would cost $10,000 for gold membership that has 4 weeks a year. Wow!!! We could finance if we put $2500 down for 3 years. Again....wow!!!! We said we could not put money down, however we could finance and make monthly payments. Nope. Finance guy comes over and gives us an offer for $5000 and 2 weeks of gold membership. Still can't and won't do. We can make payments, no money down. Nope. Jennifer comes back over and "wants to help us" cause we are nice folks. "Let me go talk with my manager." She comes back with gold membership with 4 weeks for around $500 down payment....I can not remember what total was. High pressure sales at this time. Now my wife and I start getting lectured by Jennifer about how we were passing up this awesome deal and it would not be offered again. We say thank you, but can't and won't put money down. We have the cash yet it is for Christmas presents for family and friends. Still getting lectured by Jennifer. We can and will do this....however we will not put money down. Well.....here is the the point I want to make..... We are told to wait before we can leave and our rep Jennifer starts bad mouthing us to finance guy and manager about how foolish and stupid we were. This outfit is a complete scam and a waste of 90 minutes of your time. They offer you round trip airfare for 2 but you have to pay an activation fee of $100 and another fee of $150 when you attempt to make a reservation. Not so free now.... I was also promised a $100 dining card which I tried to log on and validate to no avail. I feel sorry for everyone who spent money there but I am glad that my husband and I identified this as a "fishy" scheme and walked away. read more

Went to presentation, signed up, 2 weeks later we received a letter stating that We weren't approved, so I never paid, because Again I received letter saying I was DENIED for loan, didnt receive any free money or vacations. Then 6 months later I have a debt collectors calling me telling me I owe $4,500 for a time share I was DENIED FOR!! When I called and tried to resolve the matter, the rudest, most nastiest woman I've ever spoken to in my life answers and proceeds to tell me " what do you care? Your credit sucks anyway! What's one more collection?" I have the whole conversation recorded!! I could not believe that that's how they speak to their customers!!! I never used their "time share" never used or even received a promotion while I was there. When I told them that i had gotten the letter that I was denied she went on to tell me that they kept trying different lenders until they got one that approved us, I gave them permission to run my credit ONE TIME!!! NOT MULTIPLE times! I was very adamant about that during the presentation, that I DID NOT want my credit being run multiple times, they assured me that it would just be ONE time. COMPLETE SCAM!! I got a call saying they were trying to contact and this was the last chance (strange, no previous voicemails) saying my name was selected from a form submitted (never submitted a form) and I won either a new car, $25,000, a TV, or a trip for two. I had to pick it up at Rock Hill Preview Center at 739 Galleria Bld, ste 102, in Rock Hill. I needed to join in an anniversary celebration that would take 90 minutes and I needed to bring my wife. Then I was offered several appointment times to select from. Hmm. They promised a free vacation and a free cruise, but between the "activation" fees and taxes and other fees, it costs just as much or more than if you just booked your own vacation or used a travel agent. I am writing this letter to give others hope against a company that has been conducting fraud in Fort Mill for years. These guys are professionals at scamming innocent consumers out of their hard earned cash! Here are a couple of red flags that you should note when you walk in the door. I am giving you this information as a form of hope and to help put these scam artists out of business once and for all. 1. No Computers anywhere in the office 2. Offers sound too good to be true and it is. 3. Promise access to properties that they know they will have a hard time getting 4. NOTHING IS GUARANTEED 5. Their contract promises nothing in return for what you are paying. 6. They front themselves as a Condo Sales office to make consumers believe they have recourse after the sale. SC does not consider them a Timeshare, therefore they are not regulated and Article 38 does not apply. 7. They make you sign a No Cancelation Policy 8. They use an invalid BBB accreditation to lure you into believing they are legitimate. They are not ... It is a lie ... and they are a scam. The BBB is a tool that many of these company's try to use to make them look legitimate. Our story begins with getting a "Free Trip Offer" in the mail. Now I know I have seen several of these in the mail and thrown them out and I should have again but honestly, we thought we would just try it to see what this whole thing was about. We have been to other legitimate Timeshare sales and 1 day, we may look into something like Disney or Hilton but for now, it is not apart of our 10 year plan. Anyway, we were told all about this awesome place in Myrtle Beach that we could get for a fraction of the cost we normally pay during prime season. They make everything look incredible. The problem is that no one can get the properties. You end of adjusting your vacation time frames to their availability - this is not convenient and it was very shady in how they represented this information. You don't find these details out until you go home and do a simple search on these scam artists. They say they can save you money on hotels too but this is also a lie ... they don't get you any better deals than what is on expedia or Travelocity. After coming home and being excited about the possibilities, I started to see how we would be able to reserve the property in Myrtle Beach. Well, you can't online and everything I was seeing on their property list was gross, had awful reviews, and would be a place I would not send my worst enemy to in many instances. The site is an ancient relic from 1999. I felt bamboozled. I had been taken for a schmuck - OR SO THEY THOUGHT. I then started looking into the reviews of this place online and discovered the many lies that they had told. The red flags were everywhere. These scam artists are very good at what they do. Dressed in their fancy suits, trying to look legitimate while spewing lies in every other sentence, but be warned. This is a prime example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. They will play hardball to keep your hard earned cash. I followed these steps to get my money back. And just so you know, we paid $6995 for their 4 week package. So then it was my time to act. Here are the steps you need to take to defeat these jackwagons. KEEP YOUR COOL - do not get angry or they win. You think better with a cool head. ACT QUICK - Time is on your side. The quicker you react, the better chance you have at beating them. Contact your Credit Card Company and file a dispute IMMEDIATELY - Claim they are Frauds and you thought you were buying a timeshare. Go to the website Office of Consumer Affairs with SC and File an online Dispute Call the local authorities in Fort Mill. The York County Police Department and File charges against them for Fraud. File a claim with the Federal Trade Commission against them for Fraud. Call the BBB and file a complaint. They won't do anything about it but it will be recorded online. BE VIGILANT with the cancelation and Dispute Process. It will be long because they will fight it with as much vigor as they used to sell you your fake timeshare. Use Article 38 as a means to cancel their fake contract. I sent them all within 5 days of the presentation b. Write a thorough Response of why you thought this was a timeshare as apart of the documentation for the 1st round of information for the dispute. c. DO NOT GET UPSET when Grand Discovery fights the dispute and 1st chargeback. They will lie and use anything against you to make them look legitimate. STAY THE COURSE. Keep Fighting. IT is worth it in the end! d. Take a few days to calm down and then start writing your second response for chargeback. I also will share this letter with you if you need it to help you save your time with fighting these jackwagons. e. Grand Discovery has their merchant account with First Citizens Bank. Grand Resort is a scam if there ever was one. I don't know why someone hasn't started a class action lawsuit against them. My wife and I fell victim to there scheming several years ago. We invited to one of there sessions where a woman spent an hour lying to us about how we could save on hotels, airlines, and condos for any vacation that we wanted to take. She even told us how her mother would call the Grand Resort number while she was traveling and they always found her a good deal on a room. After the initial presentation, the next group of con men kept piling it on. One of them was even on crutches. He told us how he used Grand Resorts to save hundreds of dollars on his airfare and rooms when he went to Hawaii. They showed us a Better Business accreditation and told us the owner of the company was in an office on the other side of the room. The last step in the con was for us to go into a room with a closer, where he told us that the package was, but, today only, we could buy it for half the price. Well, we like to travel, so we took the bait. The only times we tried to use it, we always were told that nothing was available where we wanted to go. Another time, I tried them to get a good price on a room. They did get back to me, but when I called the motel directly, they gave me a better price than Grand Resort did. The company has been sending me emails and has called me several times recently to try an get me to reactivate me account by sending them money. They claim that things have changed and that things are better. I say, fool me once shame on you, fool me once, shame on me. Another dissatisfied customer actually called me one day and wanted me to call her back. Unfortunately, she didn't leave her number. Also, a telemarketer called, not knowing we were already members, an tried to sign us up to go in again. I told that person that he was promoting a scam. I wish now, that I had agreed to go. I absolutely love my membership with Grand Discovery and the Grand Resort Travel!!! For my first trip, I booked a two bedroom condo at The Wyndham Oceanview Blvd. this July. I was able to stay for $550 FOR THE WEEK! I went online to see what this would normally go for, and, with no discounts, it would have cost me almost $3000!!! When I was on vacation, I went to a timeshare presentation and realized just how much money this package is saving me. The sales consultants for the timeshare could not come close to giving me the saving and flexibility that I enjoy with my membership. I am now in the process of booking a condo for my sister and brother-in-law in the Dominican Republic at a brand new resort just build in December of 2013. Very much looking forward to seeing how much money I will be able to help save my family. I love the flexibility of the program, the money you can save, and the ability to allow my friends and family to use my benefits at no additional cost to me. I know usually people come on here to complain, but I couldn't help but tell others of my satisfaction with my decision to purchase this membership. I agree that the gifts are not the greatest. But I also found out that these gifts are not from Grand Discovery. The gifts are from a marketing company and not what you can expect from the travel company itself. read more

My husband and I met with Jennifer from Greenville today. She uses typical salesman tactics, which is fine by me because I understand she's a saleswoman. However, my problem with this company was with Jennifer specifically. She engaged us in multiple unprofessional and inappropriate comments ranging from her opinions of her boss' wife, making judgmental comments about our income, complaining about her job and having to stay in hotels (doesn't bid well for a travel agency membership business when your employees are talking about how much they hate having to stay in hotels...when their job is to sell people on staying in hotels and vacationing)... She brought up her opinions on social/political issues which could be viewed to many as racist...just all around incredibly unprofessional. Like the previous reviews, we also did not receive a "as promised" gift which Jennifer blamed on her marketing team then claimed her company has nothing to do with their own marketing. It was an all around horrible experience because of Jennifer. Jennifer needs a lesson in tact, professionalism, propriety and common decency. Was called was contacted by this company stating that I had won one of three prizes a 70 inch TV a vacation for two or a new car worth approximately $26,000 when I got to the appointment last night a little after 7:30 I was informed that I needed to present my ID is a major credit card by income my wife's income and where we were supposedly they were supposed to tell me all this over the phone when I made the appointment they did not they refused to give me the prices because they said it was not their responsibility that their contract person that made the appointments did not tell me all this their top man came out and was very rude and yelling before he even talk to meafter some argument that nothing was given to me I started to out the door two men stopped working yet told one not come near me said I was threatening them I felt threatened by two gentlemen coming near me when I close the door from the outside one of the gentleman shoved it out at me and then pulled the back and then flipped me off another words telling me number one with my I was number one with this thing when I call today and talk to the supposed president of the preview company he insisted that he went over all of this with me over the phone which he did not he got rude and said I was threatening him which I did not I just said something needed to be done because I would like the prizes that I was guaranteed by when I told him and I also told the company he represents the night before that I was going to the better business bureau he immediately hung up on me I would advise anybody not to have any dealings with this company and any companies he represent it represents read more

Lenny was our consultant. His presentation was great, however when it was leading to a decision to be made of whether we would sign up or not, things changed. His patience grew shorter,and shorter. In the beginning the free gifts were "spectacular", closer to the end it was "cheesy". I explained to him that we were not interested, my husband explained to him we weren't going to sign on at this time. Lenny got up from the table to tell the receptionist that we weren't going to sign on, and he NEVER returned to the table to thank us or anything. My wife and I drove there arrived on time, filled out the form showed the lady at the desk our visa debit/credit card. she says that not a valid credit card its a debit card my wife says yes it is both a credit and debit card its a Visa. So we are waiting in the holding area and here comes Tony Hancock verification officer. calls us into his office and proceeds to explain to us that we are disqualified from the offer because we didnt have a valid credit card, so a huge argument ensues my wife and I both explaining to Tony Hancock verification officer that it is a Visa credit card. My wife then presents another credit card a Citi Bank another valid credit card. but Mr Tony Hancock verification officer still wanted to argue about our Visa and how it isnt a credit card, even after he agreed that the Citi Bank would be sufficient. and continued with his argument like we were a bunch of idiot school kids and didnt know the difference between a credit and a debit card. and then when we wouldnt back down from him he proceeded to throw us out of his office. just came back from this , they claim you get all this free stuff, well its free info, of how to get up to 50% off dinning when you buy one get one free, but a lot of restaurants offer this any way. you have to register.create account etc. also three days two night harrahs Cherokee. but you have to register 60 days in advance.limited use sunday- wed. and if those days and dates are available. for .. after you set the dates you have to mail in $198 check as a deposit... I don't know about this ?supposively you get a $100 visa card. and if you do not go you loose the $198... Representative was ok he came out at first and had a good presentation. he got us coffee and we talked along time about the GRT it was ok a little long time about 2hrs. he kept talking about 4week gold/ hot weeks.and the great discount we could receive.. he seems to try to sell you of course on their concept. starting at around 10,000...plan b we'll say was about 7,500.. not interested I said,, so next guy comes and talks to us/ he had a little better class. about we'll say plan c for 2,500 ...for 1 week gold /and hot weeks.. not interested.. we're done ... The best part of the evening was we ate at the texas road house in rock hill .. with a jamacian margarita and steak. money well spent $42.37 a savings of $9,957.63 ..So I guess this was my best investment today....lol read more

All I can say is, "Thank goodness for Google!". I got the "Free-cruise-for-two-plus-air" bait. I thought it was "fishy" because the logo said "Carnival"; but it was clearly not the actual Carnival logo. Hhhmm... I called them anyway, just on the off-chance it was real. The conversation started out as expected; but before she went too far I asked if I was going to have to give her any credit card numbers at any point in the conversation. She assured me I would not. Ok. I'm going forward now, with one toe in the water. Moving on, AFTER she's asked me several semi-personal-but-probably-readily-available-on-the-internet-anyway questions, she tells me the place of the presentation ("dinner", "celebration", etc.) is TWO HOURS AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE!!! Really, people!?? Ok, so I'm still moving along...wondering where it will end and planning to actually think on doing this. She has only dates available within the next two weeks and most of them don't meet my schedule. However, there was one. She assured me that there was "no pressured sales"...that it was strictly to get the company into the area and have a good impact on the area. OK? What? What does that even mean? The final suspicious straw was when she said we'd need to have a credit card in hand to "flash at the hotel receptionist like a badge to SHOW IT WAS REALLY US". What am I? Stupid? Why do I need a credit card unless you're going to try to separate me from my money? Ok...so. One last thread of hope it was real (WE LOVE CRUISING - what if it was real and I was about to give up a full blown free cruise for two?????) led me to GOOGLE. Maybe I was being too hard on the salesperson. Maybe it IS real. Boy, am I glad I came here. The cruise "voucher" is ripped up and in the trash; and I'm thankful we didn't waste the gas, time, or MONEY (thanks to the reviewer that let us know it was QUITE COSTLY when trying to redeem that voucher!!!)! read more
