The food is subpar and expensive. Wifi is very slow. Don't expect peace and quiet because the lobby is constantly playing loud country music. If your room is close to the outdoor pool you will hear every person coming in and out of the building. The list goes on. Positives: Monkey Grind. It's basically a Starbucks. The girl who works there is sweet and deserves a raise.

The lady on the phone talked to me while I was meandering around the area in my truck on a dark road. Thank goodness!! She was so accommodating! For example: the number of nights I wanted to stay. Minimum is two nights. I was allowed to stay one. After I was assigned to one cabin, she allowed me to stay in a different cabin. Pulling up to park at my assigned cabin my headlights showed 3 deer!! Another times, I saw them from the balcony, several more deer. In fact, they seemed within an arm's reach. The balcony was clean with a covered table, hot tub and a means to charcoal meats. The grill utensils hung along the guard rails. Once inside, it appeared very clean. Every possible amenity was available (except robes or q-tips). Fireplace, cut wood, lighter, microwave, fold out couch, mini fridge, window unit, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes, table and 2 chairs, tv, wifi, ceiling fan, towels (request extra if using the hot tub), shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Of course, a large cozy bed! The hot tub is small. My best guess would be that they can accommodate 4 small bodies max. Great jets and very hot water! The showers are so clean and sparkly! The shampoo, conditioner and body soap hang on the wall. All have a very mild scent. It was a perfect get away for me.

We went right at dusk, but I think if it had been truly dark, we could have seen the resort from miles away. ALL. THE. LIGHTS. (And, other decorations.) However, our plan changed to one night only due to the 3+ hours drive back to Oklahoma City for our flight back home. Resort exterior was clean and well kept. Parking was plenty. Lobby was lovely and quaint with its beautiful oak themed decor. It reminded me of being at a mountain resort. Check-in was easy. Staff was friendly and nice. Our studio unit was ready upon arrival. It was clean and comfortable. It had a small living space, kitchenette with limited kitchenware essentials, washer & dryer, and complimentary body wash, shampoo, and conditioner (thank you!). Murphy bed was very comfortable. It also had a good size patio with seating plus BBQ unit which was a surprise to me. I thought WM got rid of all individual BBQ units and turned them into shared community BBQ units... maybe the change hasn't reached the Midwest yet. Our campsite had great shade but wasn't on the water (late night loop 104) but was near the bathroom which I appreciated. The showers and toilets could be cleaner but I feel like there is only so much they can do with the amount of lake swimming and sheer amount of folks using the restrooms. I definitely recommend water shoes not only for the lake but also the showers. Although I brought supplies for making French press coffee, I ended up getting an iced late at the coffee shop in the main office. We had some of the breakfast buffet (carton eggs, sausage, hashbrowns) and it was all pretty good. We signed up for a glow tube night trip on Friday and a float trip on Saturday. Both were fun but I don't think I'd need to do 2 float trips in a weekend in the future. The resort drops you off at the tubing drop site up the river and you end either at the resort or a mile up the river where they'll bus you back. It's pricey but it does include a lot of amenities and is definitely a one stop shop for tubing. I think next year we'll look into the cabins or pods. ;tldr it's pricey but you get hot showers, toilets, coffee, and busing for the float trips built in. Late night loop is rowdy so if you want something more quiet, consider avoiding this area.

Our cabin was super comfortable, clean and right on the lake. Our big and cozy porch let us sit and watch the lake with all the boats gliding by. There are so many families with kids, they made fast friends and had games of tetherball, swinging on the swings and jumping on the water platform. We were able to rent a boat, wave runners and enjoyed how easy it was all right in front of us. When we were done playing in the lake we were able to jump in the saltwater pool and jacuzzi. In summary this hidden gem was the perfect place for our family bonding and relaxing fun time. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay at the Cove.
