We were seated right away and our server was super helpful and had great recommendations. The menu is huge and everything sounded really good. They feature some things that you don't see elsewhere in town, like the Cudighi, which is a Yooper classic! Nate ordered that and I got the firecracker salmon bowl. I really enjoyed the food - the salmon bowl was a good portion and very fresh. I liked the veggies and the flavor was Asian-inspired. The Cudighi sandwich is basically a pizza sub with a spicy sausage patty that's been baked in mustard. It's unique and interesting, and Nate enjoyed it. We don't get to the NW side of town that often, but I would make a special trip to visit Roasted again. They have weekly specials and features, and a Saturday prime rib dinner!

We went to their home opener at Northview High School recently and had a lot of fun. There were many cheering sections for individual players, and the atmosphere was friendly and exciting. Unfortunately they lost 87-0, but I still enjoyed being out watching some football! I don't know how/if the rules differ from NCAA or pro football but the general gist of the game is the same. They had a table selling merch, with lots of cool shirts/sweatshirts. I love being able to support local sports teams, so I'm looking forward to catching another game soon! Ticketing was a little confusing, the website indicated we needed to pay for parking ahead of time otherwise it would be an additional $5 the day of the game, so $15. I bought a parking pass online for $10 but then when we got to campus, no one checked or asked for this pass and there were "free" lots near the stadium - so I think I wasted $10. Not a great first impression, haha. We had to park a good distance away but followed the crowds toward the stadium, which is pretty small compared to the Big 10 stadiums I've been in, but bigger than a high school football stadium. They were lighting off fireworks after every time GVSU scored, which was a lot. (The final score was 56-3!) The energy from the bands and students was high and the weather was great. Concession prices were very reasonable and we got some chips and cheese and fountain beverages. Note that only small clutches/purses are allowed, or larger clear bags. They checked my purse but didn't have any metal detectors for people entering the stadium. The bleacher seating is pretty hard for sitting the entire time, but I saw people brought in padded seat cushions and we had a blanket.

The theme of the place is kind of quirky - there are celebrity mug shots on the walls with descriptions of their crimes, as well as a "jail" photo op. Most of the menu items have jail/prison themed names too. It's definitely unique! I'd heard great things about the burgers so I knew I had to try one. They have nine different specialty burgers that come with two quarter pound patties, or you can substitute fried or grilled chicken for no charge. I got the Reveille (one egg cooked to order, bacon, and cheddar), and Nate got the Brushy Mountain with marinated chicken (you can also get it with fried chicken). Crinkle fries are standard, or you can get waffle fries or sweet potato fries for an up charge. Our food took a little bit of time to come out, but we enjoyed watching the MSU women's soccer game on the big TVs while we waited. The food was worth the wait, because it was super hot and fresh, and the burger was delicious. The patties were juicy and perfectly seasoned, the bacon was crispy, and the egg was cooked just like I wanted (over hard). It was a little greasy but I enjoy a greasy burger every once in awhile. I had a bite of the Brushy Mountain, which was also very good. The chicken was a little small but the flavors were great and the chicken wasn't overcooked. I'm so happy to have checked this place off my list, and will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. If you like a juicy burger, you have to visit this place!

We took a quick walk over from our apartment and ordered the pepperoni and the pesto chicken pizzas and both were super flavorful, well-balanced, and just really, really good. The service was great too. Everything came out quickly, and we had two different staff members checking in on us, which made the whole experience feel easy and well taken care of without being over the top. Overall, such a smooth and enjoyable visit, and definitely a reminder toI keep coming back since we live SO close!!
