Went back to Mitten after a visit that didn't quite hit last time, and it really confirmed my thought that that one was just a fluke. I've been here before and loved it, and this experience was much more in line with what I know them for. We took a quick walk over from our apartment and ordered the pepperoni and the pesto chicken pizzas and both were super flavorful, well-balanced, and just really, really good. The service was great too. Everything came out quickly, and we had two different staff members checking in on us, which made the whole experience feel easy and well taken care of without being over the top. We had 2 pizza flights so we tried almost all of them! The special of the day was a strawberry fields pizza with fresh strawberries & balsamic! The goat cheese pizza was also a hit! The one with the pork and Cajun aioli was so surprising! If you eat pork don't avoid it. They get their pork from across the road at too short and the aioli is soooo good. I think you get to choose six of the specialty options they have. Hog Heaven is the only one on the must-try list. Other than that, to each their own! Very cool brewery right off the highway in Grand Rapids. It has indoor and outdoor seating, when the weather is nice, the outdoor patio is ideal, really cool area. They allow you to do pizza flights, which is really cool, I've never heard of any other place doing that. It allows you to try so many different flavors. I forget all the ones we ordered, but they were all good, had a variety of different meats and toppings. In terms of beer, I got the fogout and the hop hustle, both really good. I ended up getting a 4pack of the fogout to go, and my friends enjoyed it as well. Inside there's a lot of cool sports memorabilia on the wall, including a 1907 World Series program, featuring the Cubs and Tigers. So cool to see! The Mitten is one of my fav spots for pizza in GR and I always forget to take pics when I'm here because I am too hungry when I go to think about it! I don't think I've ever gotten food here that I don't like but recently, I have started ordering salads and I am honestly surprised at how simple but GOOD they are! Like, their ingredients are so good and fresh that I absolutely love it! Not overly dressed and overdone, but well presented! I know that sounds silly but I feel like that should be something that people should really appreciate about a salad. Also, for the cost, you would think that it would be small... no, it's huge and you can easily share! Love this place! I've been here several times, but never reviewed. The beer selection is incredible with loads to choose from. I typically lean towards IPAs, and they have several. My wife likes pilsners and martzens, and she loved here German-style beer as well. The pizza is top-notch - that's what keeps us coming back. We had a few pizzas on their back deck and loved the ambiance. The pizza was delicious as well. My daughter's favorite thing on the menu is their garlic knots. Well holy goodness we have found some good pizza in Michigan! FINALLY! Went here last night after someone told us it was good and could not have been more pleased. My hubby and I got the bee stinger ( oMGee) my son got the cheese ( because hello, he's 16 and has no tastebuds) and our daughter got the gold of greens. Our bee stinger pizza was beyond fantastic, pepperoni, bacon, onion, jalepeno and hot honey? Chefs kiss. We also tried a couple of beers. I'm not really into Beer but ended up ordering a raspberry one which was great. We also tried a mini pretzel which I highly recommend. The only thing I was not sold on is their house salad, it was just ok and the croutons tasted stale but really who cares about a house salad when everything else is so great! our server names Brice was also fantastic and didn't treat us with annoyance when we came in 45 mins before close lol. We would order pick up from this restaurant during COVID pretty often and loved all the pizza options. I had forgotten how welcoming and cozy the restaurant is. The decor is all baseball themed. Since this is a microbrewery there are a ton of drink options and flights to choose from. Their pizza is excellent and the many options are all wonderful. If you love a cheesy pizza this is a great place because you get an amazing cheese pull. Our go to items include the cheese breadsticks, Pepperoni pizza, the huge pretzel from the starter menu and of course their amazing pepperoni and jalapeno stromboli. All the items are buttery, salty, and so cheesy! The restaurant layout mainly has table seating and offers high chairs for kids. If you need a handicap parking space they offer one spot on the side of their building with a ramp entrance. If you come through the main doors you do have to step down into the restaurant (one step). Other parking options include side street or finding local lots in the area and walking to the restaurant. They also offer great customer service from the host to the server. They both made the visit enjoyable. We went on a Sunday and the restaurant was somewhat busy but before we asked for drinks the server was already coming with water! They were on top of it. The prices are also very comparable to local pizza places and chain restaurants too. Our pepperoni pizza was $13.99 and the cheese breadsticks were $10.99. However, I hadn't been in a couple of years, and this was my first experience since going vegan. I let the friendly and awesome bar maid pick my dinner as long as it was vegan. She chose the vegan Pesto Chicken. It was so good! The crust is thin and crispy, they didn't skimp on the toppings, and the vegan "chicken" is some of the best I've ever had! I did inquire about it, and found that it is a soy and wheat based product. This pizza was so good I sat and ate the entire thing by myself! The atmosphere at Mitten is so fun and lively!
