Food came out, mostly luke warm, as well as cold pasta dishes and cool Stromboli. My son ordered a half rack of ribs. My husband now was just was eating his leftovers, and after 3 bites he put it down and said I just can't do it. There were shards of bone in EVERY bite. We each ordered something different: 3 cheese lasagna, pesto pasta, sausage and peppers and a Hawaiian pizza. The food was good but my pizza was very undercooked. It was cold and the cheese was gooey. They cooked it further which was better. My husband asked if he could substitute a small portion of spaghetti for his side with the sausage dish rather than a vegetable, potato or salad. We just hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner for 23 guests. The food was incredible (plated meals including salad and bread/oil), the tables were beautiful (they decorated with white linen tablecloths, black linen napkins, eucalyptus and floating candles). We showed a slideshow on the two big screen TV's of the bride and groom growing up then when dating. We had two servers assigned to us an the service was outstandingly responsive. Been coming here since this place opened business at this location. I almost gave it a 3 star based on getting a pizza here which I never usually do. If a pizza place fails at pizza then that's a bad sign. I usually just come here for drinks. And the revamp of their drink menu is impressive. So I went ahead with a 4 star. They now make a great old fashioned. You won't agree if you are one of those people that likes them almost as if you're drinking straight from the whiskey bottle. I'll move to scotch for that. They have a generous amount of sugar with the bitters. To me, that's how it should be. But many people have their preferences with this drink. The pizza I got was a 12 inch with a handful of toppings. About 26-27 dollars. Quite expensive for what is suppose to be a high end pizza. The biggest failure? Almost no sauce. I am not an "extra" sauce guy. But there has to be something discernible. And there was not. Add what seemed like way too much cheese and you have covered up what sauce you might have tasted. Would I get a pizza here again? No. Years ago I remember when they did a real cheap 10 inch pizza after 11pm for a few dollars. I enjoyed these immensely. There was never the same problem with these. Unfortunately they no longer do this. I still like this place for drinks. I will say that the dimly lit bar in such a giant place is unusual but very welcome. Some large bars have lights that are way too bright. There are not many people that want to stare into the sun on an evening out. I look forward to trying a few more of their new drinks. I realize there are scores of people that love the pizza here. And perhaps the person that made mine had an off day. I can only speak from my experience. But I likely will not try it again since my favorite pizza is at a different establishment. And I do not get pizza that often. read more

Spent $20 at lunch for 2 dry pieces of chicken and side salad. No sauce, no pasta. Everything is an up charge. They also hide a 3% admin fee in small italics on the menu. Portion sizes have went way down. We order takeout semi frequently. These metal containers used to be 90% filled and are now about 50% full. I'd never been to the Standale Uccello's until this past summer, when my boyfriend and I met up with a small group of friends. There is plenty of parking and the place is massive! The bar is giant and there are TVs everywhere. It is definitely a good place to watch a game. We ordered drinks right away -- I got a seasonal summer drink, a passionfruit mojito. The menu said it had Cruzan, passionfruit puree, lime, and soda. I think the rum they used was coconut rum, as it mostly tasted strongly of coconut. Not sure if that is the regular recipe but it wasn't my favorite, and coconut is a bit of a polarizing flavor. I usually don't mind coconut but it wasn't what I was expecting. We ordered a few appetizers to share: nachos, pizza puffs, and boneless buffalo wings. First note, everything was SUPER salty. I kept chugging water due to all the salt. Just something to note if you're sensitive to salt - I think they use flavacol on their chips and on the pizza puffs, which is a very salty cheese powder. The nachos were really good! They came piled high with fresh toppings (although the guacamole was a little brown). There were big clumps of shredded cheese that weren't melted, but no one really seemed to mind after digging in. The typical problem with nachos at a restaurant is that you run out of toppings and are left with a bunch of naked chips -- not here! We actually had to ask for more chips because we had a pile of toppings left! I'd order these again. The pizza puffs here weren't as fluffy as the ones I've had at Peppino's. These were puffed up but most of them were hollow. The boneless buffalo wings were just bad. I think we just got a bad batch, but they weren't very meaty and it was a really small portion for $11. Our server was great and checked on us quite a bit and brought a big pitcher of water (thank goodness!) and anything else we needed. I don't think I'd go back anytime soon just due to the location and having Peppino's closer to where we live, but it was fun to check out. read more

The marinara sauce they were selling on Valentine's Day was spoiled! Wasn't our first choice but they were last minute plans and Uccellos was available. I knew something was off when I dipped my calamari but I hadn't been there in a while and thought they may have changed their recipe. Then my husband ordered pasta with marinara and it was inedible. It had a nasty sour taste, fermented tomatoes I suspect. Server was oblivious. We were served our appetizer without silverware. For us, we got cheesy breadsticks, Alfredo, and meatballs to share. The meatballs were ok, but the bread served with them was chewy, and not in a good, fresh-baked way. The Alfredo was flavorless, and not enough sauce to coat the pasta. Then there were the cheesy breadsticks. We got all 3 sauces with them. The garlic butter was really good. The marinara was decent, and we didn't try the ranch. But the cheesy sticks themselves were still raw in the middle, as can be seen in the picture. We're new to Michigan and the Walker area....someone told us to get takeout here and so I did! I can't tell you how good their nachos are! We've lived here just a month now and have ordered them 3 times. I do pickup/carry out and have never had to wait for my food. Always ready and hot when I get there. They have a very young staff doing the takeout and they are always polite and gracious....you don't find that a lot in young people these days! The price is awesome for the amount of nachos you get! Uccello's in Standale is always our go-to place on Friday night. Raising prices is understandable with the economy in upheaval, but also charging 3% administrative cost is a bit much, especially when using a gift certificate or paying cash. Consequently a soft drink now costs $3.80 which is ridiculous. The Deluxe Nachos were always our favorite, but now the cheese, meat, etc. are difficult to find under a plate of nachos, but black olives are more than plentiful. The new Italian Beef sandwich looks like it's definitely one to try. Thankfully the servers are still great as usual! read more

My Wife and I went to GVSU to visit our daughter for Parents weekend. Food was great, our waitress Ellena was great, went to cash out and the Manager ROB decided to reduce the Veteran Discount from what I always receive at the Rockford and other UCCELLO locations!
