But, she also said that because of the ERM I was not a candidate for lasik surgery to correct my vision (I had previously had cataract surgery, which gave me much better, tho not perfect, vision.) So, I thought I would get my ERM situation looked at again, and also get a 2nd opinion re: lasik. Dr. Harrell at the Hastings location was a great choice. I had never been to Advanced Eyecare Professionals before, but the online reviews were good. The patient intake was right on time -- no waiting. The assistant was friendly and did preliminary questions and testing. The doctor arrived immediately afterward. And, the exam was thorough. Could not ask for any better care as a patient/customer. Turns out that he said lasik would be perfectly OK, medically. But, the adjustment needed might be too small to warrant the expense and the risk involved in surgery. He proposed another option (which I did not know existed for those who had had IOL replacement surgery): progressive lenses that would allow me to see both distance and reading. So, that is what I will try first. I do highly recommend this office for eyecare.

I personally have gone to Advanced Eye Care professionals for a number of years and I've used the Lowell office, the Hastings office and the Ionia office and have had extremely competent care at all locations and with all providers. Wallace used to be very customer friendly doing right for there customers .Rob who ran the frandor store was a great guy. Sense Rob retired Wallace has went down hill. Today 5/24/2022 I went to the frandor branch to get the rubber nose bridge on my 6 month old frames repaired. The lady that runs the place told me it will cost me $10.40 for that little rubber piece.I told her my frames were only 6 months old. She didn't t care.I told her she should replace it as a curtisy. I went home an called Jack Wallace the owner who works at the Saginaw st. Store. Told him what happened.he told me that's business,take it or leave it. I said I will not be doing business with them again.he said you will be sorry.what ever that means. Dont know how you stay in business. Started wearing glasses 3 years ago. 7 weeks waiting the first…read morego around with regular and sunglasses. 2 years later, just a simple lens change. Nope, broke both pair and another 8 weeks wait, didn't get the frames I wanted, a bunch of shuffling with no contact to me whatsoever, then after 8 weeks I only paid $698 instead of $798 for a lens change. Thanks so much for the $100 savings. Will never be back, please dont try to apologize since you didnt explain anything when I finally got glasses.

I was serviced very politely without waiting and without charge. I have also been in with my sister who ordered glasses and was very happy again. I am a retired nurse. I know what short staffing does to the morale of the employees and the service that is influenced for the customer. It is tough on all involved which inevitably includes the customer. A response of rudeness in return is hurtful and completely unproductive.

The girl took me back question why I was coming in told her mainly I needed the vision field test done she said ok. They took me back to see Dr Hansen ask what brings me in today told him the samething a least a couple of times they said that they did not have me down for that what it was the main thing I needed. Dr they ask if I would come back tomorrow or late this week. They he finish the exam took me out to look at glasses which I did not want to get until after surgery and he agree it would be a good idea. So we when back to talk to the office manager (Chris) which I heard her very loudly tell him they cant do it bc they was short staff ( again not my problem) she told him she has 2 doctors in the rest of the week and over 200 pairs of glass on her desk to order right now(not my problem) She was so Disrespectful to Dr Hansen talking to him like that. She proceeded to come out and talk to me in the same tone of voice and said that they did not have time . I did call her rude and walk out. This person needed to be write up or fired. I believe I was the customer and not my problem she was short staff. They had many time to let me know and reschedule. 1 when I first walk in to the appt or called me to reschedule. 2. When the girl took me back. 3 when I saw Dr.Hansen. Rudeness was very wrong.

I changed Medicaid providers so I could go to the eye doctor I'd seen since childhood and--after examining me--agreed that it was stress related. No specialist needed.
