No, it is not the TPC. Yes, it is competition! Reasons to go: 1) Military-friendly! 2) The staff keeps the course well. 3) The green fee and cart prices are not only competitive with nearby courses, but gives this course the best value in the NOLA area. Reasons to avoid: 1) If you do not like 'wild-life' then pack your clubs back up and drive to the TPC. Mosquitos swarm, cottonmouths stalk and gators are fed at daily at a designated tee box. If you like these things, bathe in Off! and you will be fine. 2) It is in the back of a residential are making the trip inconvenient but this course is worth the drive

The golf course came a very long way, love playing here with my family. The greens are well kept and carts are well maintained.

Well, walked down to the club, I was greeted by a very nice gentleman who asked for my member # as I was asking to order. I stated to him I didn't have a member number, as I was only there setting up and making sure all looked in place for the following night. He had to go ask if I could still order... Came back with approval and a nice lady took my order. I ordered spinach and cheese dip. It took about 15 mins to receive it. Ohhhh myyyy was it delicious!!!! :-) It was sooooooo good!!!! Super delicious! This one will go down in my books as the BEST I've ever had!!! I will have to go back soon to scoop up another order as I can only eat small portions and threw away my remaining I didn't eat. I was crushed.... I simply didn't want to over eat and get sick. Now if you know someone who's affiliated- grab them and go for a nice meal. I'm sure their other food choices are wonderful! Ohhh the Christmas decor at the place was sooooooo festive and elegantly done!!! Great job! See ya' again soon. Thanks for the kindness and welcoming vibes.

We cannot express our gratefulness to Chateau Golf and Country Club for making our son and new daughter-in-laws dream wedding come true. From the moment we met with Alyssa, we knew everything would be perfect. She was so patient and gave us so much insight into details that we had not thought of. And they went ABOVE and BEYOND on the day of the wedding. Alyssa, Britney, Ms. Beth and Ms. Evelyn took care of everything throughout the ceremony and reception. The food was AMAZING! They even allowed up to upgrade to a Banana's Foster station that wasn't even on the menu. We became so close to Alyssa that one quick glance at each other and she knew what we needed. They were by our sides the entire night making sure we all ate and stayed hydrated. If I have any other functions, I will definitely be going back to Chateau. Thank you again Alyssa Sprunk and the entire staff.

Also, the Ryder and Presidents Cups are biennial events, not annual events. What's the difference between an official event and an unofficial event? As an official event, the Zurich Classic awards official money, FedEx Cup points, and two-year exemptions (the latter to the winners). In 2021, the Zurich Classic awarded 400 FedEx Cup points to each winner which I believe is an amount unique to this tournament. The standard winner's allotment on the PGA Tour is 500 points. More points are awarded to winners of the majors and The Players (600) as well as WGC and Arnie's (Arnold Palmer), Jack's (Memorial), and Tiger's (Genesis) events (550). The Zurich Classic didn't become a team event until relatively recently: 2017. Before 2017, this was just another event on the Tour schedule. I believe organizers made this a team event in an attempt to spice things up and keep the tournament interesting. Despite a long history in New Orleans that dates back to 1938, the Zurich Classic had become one of the Tour's least-glamorous events. I'm not sure the field has gotten that much better nor have fan interest, ticket sales, and TV ratings increased significantly as a result of the format change. As a fan, I liked the change just because it made this tournament fun and different. Speaking of fun, this is the only event on Tour that has player entrance music and championship belts. As a fan of 80s/90s WWF, I like that. :) As of 2021, the Zurich Classic field is 80 teams of two (160 players total). 80 players qualify based on their PGA Tour Priority Ranking. Those 80 players must choose a teammate that has Tour status or a sponsor exemption. The first and third rounds are four-ball. Four-ball, a.k.a. best ball, is where every player plays their own ball and the best score on each hole between teammates is the team score recorded for that hole. The second and fourth rounds are foursomes where teammates rotate tee shots and then play alternate shot. One teammate tees off on the odd-numbered holes while the other teammate tees off on the even-numbered holes. The cut line is the low 33 teams and ties. Since switching to the team format, the Zurich Classic gave up a Masters invitation to the winner in addition to OWGR (Official World Golf Ranking) points. Billy Horschel is the only player to win this event both as an individual (2013) and as a teammate (2018 with Scott Piercy). The tournament has been played at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, a suburb of NOLA, every year since 2007. The course opened in 2004 and was designed by Pete Dye, Steve Elkington, and Crescent City native Kelly Gibson.
