Truly a course that gives players lots to think about as you play it. I have been coming here for 10 years and always enjoyed playing here. The course hosts the Zurich Open in late April on the pga tour. Also the grill is outstanding. Good and cocktails are amazing. Yesterday after player had beer and burgers. As always the food was delicious. Enjoy.

Sort of Off-the-beaten path; you wouldn't know it was there if you didn't have directions. Not very crowded this particular day, so my husband was processed quickly. There was a $15 charge for me to ride and not play, which isn't unusual. The golf shop itself is very small without a lot of offerings. Breakfast was ready-made mini muffaletta sandwiches grabbed for $3, and a beer was available too. The mini muffalettas were surprisingly very tasty. Lunch was a Bridge 28 burger, medium, with fries, and a pound of A&W Catering chicken salad. The burger was huge and very good ($12), and the one pound of chicken salad ($15) was phenomenal! Morning and afternoon bartenders were both friendly, and A&W employee was very pleasant. Joe was the golf course marshal we encountered on the course. He was knowledgeable of the course and of the game, and he was personable enough to talk to "the wife" who doesn't play golf and zones out about 2 min into a golf conversation. The course came with a hole guide - which we haven't found at the other 2 courses he's played locally. Loved that there was a port-a-potty at hole 15. LOTS of water traps on this course, so beware. The ride was pleasant and the scenery quieting. They host what appears to be quite a few meals to eat on location or to go. There are also plans for expansion of the F&B and venue offerings at the course, which I'm looking forward to enjoying. We plan on coming back for more!

Also, the Ryder and Presidents Cups are biennial events, not annual events. What's the difference between an official event and an unofficial event? As an official event, the Zurich Classic awards official money, FedEx Cup points, and two-year exemptions (the latter to the winners). In 2021, the Zurich Classic awarded 400 FedEx Cup points to each winner which I believe is an amount unique to this tournament. The standard winner's allotment on the PGA Tour is 500 points. More points are awarded to winners of the majors and The Players (600) as well as WGC and Arnie's (Arnold Palmer), Jack's (Memorial), and Tiger's (Genesis) events (550). The Zurich Classic didn't become a team event until relatively recently: 2017. Before 2017, this was just another event on the Tour schedule. I believe organizers made this a team event in an attempt to spice things up and keep the tournament interesting. Despite a long history in New Orleans that dates back to 1938, the Zurich Classic had become one of the Tour's least-glamorous events. I'm not sure the field has gotten that much better nor have fan interest, ticket sales, and TV ratings increased significantly as a result of the format change. As a fan, I liked the change just because it made this tournament fun and different. Speaking of fun, this is the only event on Tour that has player entrance music and championship belts. As a fan of 80s/90s WWF, I like that. :) As of 2021, the Zurich Classic field is 80 teams of two (160 players total). 80 players qualify based on their PGA Tour Priority Ranking. Those 80 players must choose a teammate that has Tour status or a sponsor exemption. The first and third rounds are four-ball. Four-ball, a.k.a. best ball, is where every player plays their own ball and the best score on each hole between teammates is the team score recorded for that hole. The second and fourth rounds are foursomes where teammates rotate tee shots and then play alternate shot. One teammate tees off on the odd-numbered holes while the other teammate tees off on the even-numbered holes. The cut line is the low 33 teams and ties. Since switching to the team format, the Zurich Classic gave up a Masters invitation to the winner in addition to OWGR (Official World Golf Ranking) points. Billy Horschel is the only player to win this event both as an individual (2013) and as a teammate (2018 with Scott Piercy). The tournament has been played at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, a suburb of NOLA, every year since 2007. The course opened in 2004 and was designed by Pete Dye, Steve Elkington, and Crescent City native Kelly Gibson.

Whether it's for a casual date, a family night out with the kids, or even a group of friends looking for something different, City Park Putt Putt checks all the boxes. Amazing staff. Reason for 3 stars : We went at night and it was insanely DARK, like we used our phones to see where the ball went. Could have used more lighting. Looked to my left, saw the green, then looked to see if I could drive the cart there. Didn't see any signs saying otherwise. After being there for 5 minutes, the pro (Richie), steps outside the door from the pro shop with a cell phone up to his ear and yells, "get that cart off the grass", then said to the person on the phone, "there's a guy parked on the grass with a f-ing golf cart". But he didn't say f-ing His approach is very unprofessional and very rude. I felt like I was walking on eggshells afterwards. The course, if you're an experienced golfer, spend your money and time somewhere else. The starter even suggested going to Stonebridge if we were staying longer. The fairways are dirt, weeds and a little grass. The greens look nice but are very slooooooow. The back nine has some greens that were scalped by the mower. The tee boxes are pretty tore up, needing a lot of attention. No ball washers on the course. After completing my round, I drove past the building that was about 30 feet from the clubhouse. There were some old timers hanging out having a drink, a couple guys walked around the side to take a piss. Seriously, the club house was 30' away! The club pro should worry more about this than a cart parking on the grass! The staff, in the pro shop, couldn't care less if you're there. Not friendly at all. The starter said they only had 50 players scheduled to play for the day. Tells you a little something about the course and staff.

He has fit me for every single club in my bag. I just wish he were still in my area. After a fitting he gave me several recommendations, from buying stuff off the rack to getting higher end custom shafts. I am glad to have done the latter. I am actually still using the upgraded shafts from fittings from a few years ago with new heads. You can also add other random things like sight lines on your putter, stampings on your wedges/irons, or some other fancy finishes. The sight line he added on my putter was well worth it. Before working with Buddha, I used to pick up clubs every now and then at demo days and sales. Sometimes I would like them, other times I wouldn't. But every club he has fit me for has become one of my favorite clubs to hit. Does it cost more? Yes. But loving every club in the bag makes this game of golf easier and more fun. One great example of the quality of work: Buddha fit me for a driver three years ago. I have hit dozens of drivers since and only recently did something beat it and only by a few yards. So go check out his shop. I hope he helps your game as much he has helped mine.
