Ultimately, Grand River Brewery is absurdly overpriced for less than mediocre food. Nearly everything is $20+ dollars a plate, even for Mac and cheese or nachos. Want to add cheese to your pretzels? That will be an extra $6. The beer is also largely disappointing. Very little variety and they were out of the few beers that caught our interest. We were very excited a new brewery was opening up in town but this place is certainly not worth your time or money. read more

Service was a bit slow with Angel but she was polite. Fried Brussels appetizer was under done but had good flavors. My seasonal Mac and Cheese was burnt to the point of being inedible but I didn't want to make a fuss so I didn't send it back. Visiting a friend who lives in town, we decided to check out the new place in town. It was very busy so be prepared to wait longer than expected. A 30 minute wait turned into a 60 minute wait. It's a new place so in time things will work out. The staff is hard working. I felt kind of bad that only two people were working behind the bar pouring drinks for the entire place non-stop. Where the place falls short is the food. Barbecued chicken wangs (wings) were overdone. I had the pork tacos and I probably should have sent them back. They smelled funny. The pork tasted funny. This place is so sub par. First off, the chef didn't show up, and the service was very ill attended. Charging $17 for a burger that is thin and tasteless. The fries had a gray, greenish hue to them, and were saltier than the Mediterranean Sea. $11 for brussel sprouts that were deep fried, and sitting in a pool of oil. We won't be back :( read more

Definitely a miss. When we arrived no one greeted us and there were no signs for whether to sit or wait to be seated. We sat down at a table by the bar and after 15minutes no one had noticed us but they had already taken orders for a couple that had arrived just before us. We moved to the other side of the restaurant where we were noticed immediately and thought all was good. Unfortunately our order was not put in due to a miscommunication between servers and no one noticed for a very long time. It took over an hour to get any food. When we did get our food it was pretty mediocre. We were not offered any discounts and or comps and ultimately spent an uncomfortable two hours there which was our mistake for not leaving when we didn't initially receive service. I don't know that I've ever received service poor enough to actually leave a negative review for a restaurant before. read more

Food has been terrible both times I've been here. Atmosphere is a 10/10, drinks are 9/10, but food has been miss every time. The hot chicken pizza has no flavor and the salads are over boarded with chips or dressing. Hopefully they fix soon! We're mug club members and they forget our mug every single time. We went to dinner at Grand River Brewery opening week. One of the staff, Bryce, noticed we had been waiting for awhile and he made sure to get us seated quickly. They took care of us and even topped off the night with a slice of chocolate cake on the house. India was a great waitress! I was impressed to hear all of their food is sourced from Michigan and never frozen. Beer was great with a big variety and the pimiento burger was delicious. Bryce and India are top notch! We were lucky to get an invite to the soft opening on 12/4/23. Had a WONDERFUL experience. Our server was great - attentive, gave us her favorites and when we asked about something she had not tried yet, she told us that, said she hadn't had any negative feedback on what we asked about, but could not speak from her experience. I appreciate the honesty. All 4 of us had something different and all 4 of us were extremely happy with our choices. Two in our group even asked for modifications and everything came out correct. My husbands was slightly delayed, and we were told it was, and apologized to for it. This staff has clearly been trained on guest service! 3 had beer, 1 had wine and she enjoyed the wines she tried. Prices were reasonable and portions matched what you'd expect from the price (I got 2 meals out of mine). Hubby and I were not mug club members when we arrived...but we are now! Thank you to Bryce for the invite - it was all super!! Wishing them success going forward, we will be regulars. read more

Blown away by the staff and their drive to make sure we enjoyed our food and drink, and in general our time there. The food was AMAZING, the drinks DELICIOUS and the staff A+ in service. India and Rachel, we can't thank you enough for making us feel so special. Sara, a manager, stopped by to if w were pleased with how things were going. I can't wait to see how they blossom in the community. Truly impressed at how attentive staff is and the fact that Bryce himself even spoke to us at least 3 if not 4 times about the brewery and its goals to become an integral part of the community. My husband joined the Mug Club because we plan on going there as much as we can. The fact that this is a Farm to Table venue says it all in freshness. The Mac & Cheese is the BEST I have ever had. And then there is THE CARROT CAKE - there are no words to describe this delicacy. Thank you Grand River Brewery for coming to our area! My husband and I finally tried the new Clawson Spot out. We were excited for something new in the area tbh. Unfortunately, it was not all that. The beer was excellent, and their ranch is pretty tasty, but that's about all. We tried the Frickles as an appetizer, they tasted okay, but all the slices were clumped together like a giant fried piece of batter. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap, which was loaded with WAY too much chicken, and the chicken was super dry. So bitting into that thick amount of dry chicken was not very easy, or pleasant. I took one bite of it, and explained to the waitress it was overly dry. She offered me to order something else, which I didn't because at this point nothing was turning out that good, but then didn't even offer to take it off our bill. Which I felt was something she should have done since none of it was eaten, and it cost $$. My husband ordered the Fish and Chippies, he said they tasted okay but they literally gave him two of the smallest pieces of fish ever. There were more fries on his plate than anything, and honestly for the $$ they charge for their food it was a joke..they should be providing much more than two skimpy pieces of white fish. We both had fries, and they were sub-par, nothing to rant about. They were very plain. I would definitely not recommend this place to eat, but maybe just drinks. Disappointed for sure since we were excited to have a new spot in the area. read more
