Maple Burger

This is a large brewery with great beer and a menu that goes beyond typical pub fare. I like that you can order any number of flight-sized pours for about $3 each. The Marshmallow and Macchiato were both very good. The food was tasty, and service was friendly and quick. The food prices are a little high, and it's maybe a bit too dark inside, but overall we liked the atmosphere. The patio area looks inviting and this is a bike-friendly place.

Excellent from A to Z. Great food, great beer, great mixed drinks. Service was awesome and the setting was very relaxing. The outside fire pits really sets the tone for a sociable with friends and family gathered around. This place gets extremely busy even with a lot of seating in and outdoors. There was a waiting list for us today but they called within the time that they gave us. We took a 5 minute walk to Griffin Claw so we didn't have to try to find a place to park. As I was waiting to be seated I seen numerous vehicles looking to park without success due to the volume of customers.

One of my favorite places in the area. Parking: There's a parking lot, but tends to fill up quickly! There's street parking and also another lot nearby. Wait time: It gets busy in the summer. Even for a weekday (Wednesday even), you should expect at least a 15 minute wait. Ambiance: Very lively, fun. Slightly dim inside, but a great place to bring friends and have a good time. There's outdoor seating too which is perfect for warm weather. Food: Delicious! You can't go wrong with any item. Whether it's the fried chicken sandwich or the salmon bowl. Drinks: All of the beers and ciders are great. I recommend getting trying a few different of their beers when you go! My favorite item so far: the fried chicken sandwich.

Interesting pairing - I don't think I would try it again. The marshmallow stout was not for me. I couldn't even give it away.

Food and service were great. Stake bites came out a little overcooked. Ambiance overall was excellent.

I can't drink beer but tried the bourbon. Not impress, very harsh. Had the Manhattan and it was bad. Would not order it again.

Ask the Community - Griffin Claw Birmingham

Do they have on-site parking?

Yes, they do but it is quite small so during rush hours or may be difficult to find a spot and you'll have park on the street

Is the patio dog friendly?

In the summer they allowed dogs at the tables that were set up along the driveway. But those aren't full service. We had to buy our beer in a 4 pack to sit and enjoy them with our dog, and she was kindof stressed by the cars going by.

Does anyone know if they serve food at the Rochester location?

At clubhouse BFD? Yes they do!

Food menu is perfect and my husband and I enjoyed our lunch choices. I had the tomato bisque with a grilled cheese/turkey sandwich. My husband had the Rob Reiner. We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this spot…read more One of my biggest issues with most breweries is that there isn't much variety in the beer choices. Often times there's 3 versions of IPAs, a budweiser type of some sort, a stout, and then maybe a brown or red. The brewer here at stumblebum has it down pat. Great variety with a constantly changing series of options. Do they have their flagships? absolutely, but they also give you a reason to come back on the regular when you're not in the area to see what's new. This is about an hour drive from my house and I've been back 4 times in a very short period of time. This is a large space located in a strip mall, but they have loaded it up with board and card games to keep you occupied if you so choose, and lots of seating. Not sure if the beer tender who helped me out was the owner or not, but he was super friendly, super knowledgeable and just a great conversation in general. This was a great experience and I will definitely be back again.
