We loved the location of our unit (Ocean Pointe A2), but the mattresses in all of the bedrooms were seriously worn out and uncomfortable. In addition, several of the mattress covers had disgusting stains. The dishwasher was broken and the dishes in the cabinet still had dried food on them as a result. Upon our arrival we had to wash mattress pads and dishes. The dishwasher was replaced the day before we left. This would be a great unit with some furniture upgrades and paint on exterior doors. Another concern that I have is the length of time it takes to have the security deposit returned following check out. With the concerns we had with our unit, I am not sure why I have to wait a full month to receive my $250 security deposit. That is entirely too long for them to hold a customer's money as I am sure the condo was assessed for damages upon check out. I was told the reason for the month-long wait was to ensure "people had not made long distance phone calls or charged up movies." I made the suggestion that in 2023, people do use cell phones and their own streaming services, so the policy seems outdated. THE BIGGEST ISSUE with Grand Strand Rental - Ten minutes after posting on another site a three-star review with the concerns mentioned above, I received perhaps the most unprofessional phone call from someone in management at Grand Strand Vacations. I was told that these issues were not reported, which is completely inaccurate! I have never been spoken to in such a rude manner. It was a COMPLETE LACK of professionalism. Grand Strand Vacations, North Myrtle Beach, SC is stalling on returning security deposit. When the owner was questioned she got very angry, rude and could care less about customer satisfaction. They ask me for a review and the following is how I rated Ocean Pointe A2 in Cherry Grove on 6/24/23. I fully understand that things break, however the dishwasher being broken wasn't something that just happened, too many dishes placed back in the cabinets filthy. (A health hazard). It had been that way for a good while. Dirty (with blood) mattress pads should never happen if properly checked between renters, we had to wash 3 before making the beds. A 25 year old microwave with missing turn table tray is useless and should have been replaced when the parts were no longer available. If listed in equipment it should be in working order. The linoleum tile flooring was dirty and in bad need of a good cleaning, socks and bare feet got dirty from walking around on the floors after showering. All of the mattresses need replacing and weren't comfortable. The living room furniture was worn out also, you just sunk down in it and difficult to get out of. All the exterior doors were rusted, not a good first impression. I can over look a lot of this units cosmetic imperfections, however cleanliness and comfort are very important to renters. The dishwasher was replaced on Friday evening but too late to benefit us. The worst part is that none of these ratings are showing for future renters, they are covering up the true ratings and hiding issues. We will never rent from them ever again! read more

The first time I rented with GS, everything was great, no issues whatsoever (2 years ago). Well, this second time around was very much the opposite. They charge a standard $250 cleaning fee which is customary (for them). However, GS attempted to charge me for very strange things. The house I stayed in was not modern or updated, all of the appliances were at least 10 yrs old. The "blankets", I'm not sure what to call them....maybe cum rags...were literally the most disgusting pieces of fabric I have ever encountered in my entire life. I had to purchase all new bedding at Walmart because the "blankets" and bedding was not something i felt comfortable having my child and my nieces and nephews touching, let alone sleeping on night after night. I have no idea of the decades of scum that accumulated on those rags. I'd sooner trust the blankets at an hourly rate motel by 95. The newest objects in the house were the lightbulbs. Everything else in that house was old, dirty and quite frankly scummy, down to the carpet. It had an old standard white stove, nothing wrong there but after at least a decade and a half, you'd expect some wear and tear, no? According to GS, it was brand spanking new! Zero flaws. How cute. I guess the cleaning fee didn't include wiping the stove with a damp paper towel. The fridge was freezer over fridge and it was literally leaning to one side, (not my job to ensure that the appliances are perfectly balanced). The ice maker was a joke and it had rusty dents. A rusty dent=old dent. It's like some insurance scammer trying to convince the insurance company that some damage is new as they point to pockets of rust. Rust accumulates over time, not over 5 DAYS. Lastly, they sent their handyman over about 3x/day. Why? One time he came over to fix a "rogue doorknob" (his words)....what is wrong with these people? There were so many issues with this company that I just don't have the energy to write about now, but if you are wondering whether or not to rent with Grand Strand, I recommend you choose Elliot or Thomas, they are far more reliable. I have rented with both Elliot and Thomas as have several of my family members who visit the Cherry Grove area in every season. If I decide, I may continue to document the negative experiences I've had with good Ol' Grand Strand. If Grand Strand becomes your last resort, (it was for me, unfortunately), at least negotiate....to the bone because that's what you'll end up with bare dirty old bones. Keep in mind, they lie at the end so they can keep your deposit and so they can demand even more money after you vacate. Some of their properties are lovely, but it's a scam. I guess that is how they manage to maintain a meager profit. p.s. if you do not empty the garbage pails, vacuum the carpet, mop the floors, wipe down the surfaces and sterilize the oven and the fridge, YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK. because apparently the $250 cleaning fee does not include any of those things. We had a wonderful vacation in Cherry Grove! The check in was easy and the staff was helpful and friendly. The house was just what we expected..very clean and comfortable. There were a few minor issues, but the maintenance person responded quickly and fixed everything that we had reported. We will definitely use GSV in the future. After reading previous reviews, I have to say that the cleaning fee is not refundable. We did not have to clean the house in order to get our deposit back. We respected the property and left it in the same condition that we found it. read more

I stayed at "Annual Tradition" and it was by far the best vacation home if any home I've ever stayed in. Between the top notch modern decor and amenities to the pool and perfect ocean view it's the most beautiful and spacious place in North Myrtle. Where to begin. Our family rented 10 Charleston Court for the week. We arrived at 3 and the cleaning people were just finishing up. The house is absolutely disgusting. Old, not Maintained. The floors are scary to walk on in the bedrooms as the carpet is so gross with stains. The bathroom floors in the bedrooms are dirty- same with kitchen floor. The furniture is dated looking, the blinds don't all work properly, and the windows are filthy. The deck (which is a great view) is carpeted and nasty. The grill didn't work and the pool had a lot of debris, was vey cloudy, and trash blown in. There is an elevator that is advertised in the listing, yet there are notes left to only use when necessary. Don't advertise an elevator if you really don't want guests using it. There are no kitchen mats or dish towels. The mattresses in all the bedrooms are so old I don't think they have ever been updated. You will literally sink into a pit in the middle. This was our first and last visit to Myrtle Beach. The pictures that are advertised in listing look like they were taken a long time ago when things were "fresh or newer" bc it is definitely not how it looks and is Maintained now. I felt dirty the whole week. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in the maintenance and cleanliness of the property. I would never rent this dump again nor come back to Myrtle in general. read more

Booked through Flip Key , took my credit card and the next day I received an email stating the price was considerably higher than the quoted price and that Flip Key must have made a mistake. When I called the company, a man told me I could take it or leave it. When I asked for his name he said "none of your business.," and hung up on me!!! Zero stars...my boyfriend and his friends rented a beach house for a week through Grand Strand. "JJ beach" house to be exact. It should be demolished. The pictures on the website must be from years ago. There was paint chipping from the ceiling of one bedroom, the bathroom walls, the doorway leading into the kitchen and in the living room. The house seem to have maybe been floaded before. The kitchen floor was vinyl which was coming up from the floor & the kitchen wall was cracking as if it had water damage. It had an old moldy or mildew smell when you entered the house. The refrigerator was nasty and very dirty on the outside. (It look as if they got it out of a dumpster!) The dishes were old, stained and dirty. They refused to cook due to the conditions of the kitchen and house as a whole. We renamed it "The Trap House" because of the conditions. Although they agreed to give them their money back but thats only if they found another beach rental which was impossible due to it being memorial weekend and everything was sold out. Needless to say the owner didn't want to rent to bikers. Honestly they shouldn't be renting that property at all. I took pictures of everything which i will be posting as well. This property should not be rented unless they do some serious upgrades. read more

DO not use this rental company. The beach my family rented was a dump. Dirty, poorly maintained. The pics on their website is not the house we rented, Tides Edge D. The rental management has very poor service. When contacted about the condition of the house A. Seddinger immediately sent a cleaning crew over to clean at 9 pm at night. Angela Seddinger maintains there was nothing wrong the house. But still sent a cleaning crew, even they admitted that house was filthy and had not been properly cleaned. We had to stay there for the night. We were charged one nights stay and were moved to condos that werent much better. We were charged for the week in the condos, 7 days, even though were only there 6. The one night in the dirty house. We were only refunded a portion of our rental money due to the difference in the rental. When we tried all week long to resolve the matter, Ms. Seddinger said that was all we were getting and not a penny more. She returned one phone call. Was always in a meeting, or busy. So our vacation was ruined by this rental place and A. Seddinger. She maintained it was our fault for not booking better accommodations. Stated that 3 months during peak vacation season was not adequate time to secure a rental. When all was said and done. I left feed back on their Facebook profile. It was promptly deleted. So beware looking at FB ratings, its manufactured 5 star ratings, for the property and her rental company. Wont be back to Myrtle Beach. SC tourism take note, A. This company is a ripoff... Never use them and do not trust them. They said there was damage to a condo after I stayed there and kept my deposit. I asked them for proof of damage pictures... No one could show me anything or tell me anything other then to bad your deposit is gone. The owner/manager Angela will not pick up the phone or return calls she is always in a "meeting". DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY BEWARE. Ive been vacationing at NC and SC beaches for over 15 years and used many different companies and never had any issues. read more
