    Very small

The staff was friendly and place clean. The hot breakfast was the usual - good. The rooms could use some updating. We had a large cabinet taking up space that contained a mini fridge (very tiny) and microwave. We had several lamps in the room that weren't able to plug in due to lack of wall plugs. The AC unit only had a fan. The buttons were mashed inside of it.

View from our room - gorgeous!

The Grand Vista Hotel is the hotel we always stay at when we're visiting our grandkids in Grand Junction. It's not a fancy hotel, but the rooms are clean, the price is very reasonable and the employees are friendly. They also have a frequent stayer special. You get a consistent rate of $99. This includes free parking, a free breakfast buffet, bogo drinks at their pub and the possibility of being upgraded to a suite. It's really a great deal! While the rooms aren't fancy, some of the rooms have gorgeous views of the Mesa. The beds and pillows are also some of the most comfortable we've come across even compared to expensive hotels. If you're looking for a no frills stay that is comfortable and clean, then this is a great choice.

Its very old hotel, a lot of staff out of service. They only give you one small shampoo. I went to front to get some creamer for my coffee, the rude staff said" this is not for your group " what group? You have races. As a hotel you should not serve that?

We were in grand junction for the night and we stayed at the grand vista hotel. The decor of the hotel is old style but they have all the amenities available. The rooms were decent and clean for the price they offer the room. The staff was very helpful and the pool as well as hot tub were clean. The restaurant and bar looked nice. They have live music performance almost every night and offer taco Tuesday. They also offer breakfast and dinner but it can be expensive. The location of the hotel is amazing and it is near Colorado National Monument and there's an easy access to I70.

The hotel was not with the price, I should have spent 40 dollars more and gone to a higher end hotel. Lesson learned. The hotel room was clean and easy to find. The hotel is outdated and lacks an inviting feel. The air conditioner/heating is very noisy and you can hear your neighbors. The tv lost signal and stopped working. After setting an alarm, you can hear a ticking noise. You have to pay for parking which doesn't make any sense and is an additional feel. The comforter is thin, and I had to grab the other comforter from the other bed to use as well. I left early after only getting 5 hours of sleep, sleeping in was not an option. I would say the hotel is a step up from a motel 6.

King room - adequate but dated.

Let me start with $10 per day for parking. This is unusual when other local hotels have free parking. BEWARE! If you utilize 3rd party booking, check to see the totals. They have the basic room which looks like a good price until you see the total. There are packages that include breakfast for almost no additional when you look at the totals. Places like this try the nickel and dime strategy rather than improving the dated rooms. The rooms have no usable outlets by the bed (either side). The only ones in the main room are the 3 on the desk. The counter person also asked my spouses name "incase they wanted a card key." (Note every location has just given me 2 without even asking. In the past they just asked how many you needed but now they just give 2.) This was the first time that any hotel or motel ever asked me for the names of the people in my party. This just feels like a violation of privacy. This makes me feel that there are other more severe issues with this location. Once again, beware. Supplemental - Upon checkout we noticed that residents of the county (that the hotel is located) are not allowed to stay in this hotel. So, there is something up with this location.

A Surprisingly Cool Spot in Grand Junction…read more We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junction--and I'm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout. The first night felt almost eerie... like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gem--relaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind. Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. It's paid, but easy to use through the app--averaging about $10 a day. By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had opened--but closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe. Inside, I stayed in a double room--huge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good! We're actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. I'm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar again--though I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and it's definitely a feature worth lingering over. All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes I've experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would definitely recommend!

PICK ANOTHER HOTEL IN GRAND JUNCTION, CO…read more================================ If I could have cancelled at the last minute I would have. We arrived late afternoon on August 2nd after driving all the way from L.A. in one day. Strike #1 - When we pull into the driveway it looked like a guy on drugs was playing on one of the parking lot security gates. The ones that raise and lower for you to go past. We told the clerk at the front desk, but we were concerned about my car after that. Strike #2 - Located right next to the Convention Center. If they have big events there it will be really loud if your room is on that side of the hotel. We could hear loud noise until late at night. Strike #3 - The hotel is dingy and really needs to be renovated. It's a step up from the one in Cherry Creek/Denver, but still bad.

Every time we stay in GJ we have stayed here in the recent times. Tried a few other properties…read morebefore and always ended up here. Fairly quiet, decent breakfast, great staff with awesome customer service. Love the location too, easy access to all the Main Street restaurants and shopping. The pool and gym were small but clean and we had an opportunity to use both this time when we stayed over the Labor Day weekend. Love the dual waffle makers and two different waffle batters as well. Overall the food was ample and tasty. Nothing super fancy but definitely checked all the breakfast items. The only thing was that this is not a newly remodeled location so some items might be a little bit worn down. The mirror in our bathroom had some rusty spots in the corners, the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom looked a little bit puffy, like the plywood had moisture damage... We stayed in a double queen and one of the beds is slightly lumpy/uneven, we got the same feedback from another couple who stayed in a king room. The linen smelled and looked clean, no hair, no dust on furniture... overall I think the cleanliness was there, just need a refresh with maybe an update/remodel order from HQ. All the employees were kind and easy to work with. We had a situation with another couple in our group where their door battery went out, they were able to open the door and provide another room in a jiffy, and helped them with a little discount due to the inconvenience where they didn't have to do that. We're grateful for the overall experience and will definitely be back again when staying in GJ next time.
