We had a large cabinet taking up space that contained a mini fridge (very tiny) and microwave. We had several lamps in the room that weren't able to plug in due to lack of wall plugs. The Grand Vista Hotel is the hotel we always stay at when we're visiting our grandkids in Grand Junction. It's not a fancy hotel, but the rooms are clean, the price is very reasonable and the employees are friendly. They also have a frequent stayer special. You get a consistent rate of $99. This includes free parking, a free breakfast buffet, bogo drinks at their pub and the possibility of being upgraded to a suite. It's really a great deal! While the rooms aren't fancy, some of the rooms have gorgeous views of the Mesa. The beds and pillows are also some of the most comfortable we've come across even compared to expensive hotels. If you're looking for a no frills stay that is comfortable and clean, then this is a great choice. read more

I've stayed here occasionally over the years. Always clean and nice staff. That being said, this time no warning about having to pay $14 a night for parking. They say they have security, I saw NO sign of security in the four days I was there. Many folks were complaining as most internet sites showing this hotel state No Parking Fee. Also, I used to live in grand Junction and often contracted with the restaurant here for many celebrations as the catering was excellent. Now the reviews are terrible and a bowl of chili is $16.95. There was no warning about hotel guests paying for parking ($15 a night) either on line or on the reservation. Wait time at the reception desk can be long. The bed is very uncomfortable for me. This is Probably one of the worst places I have stayed. It felt musty when entering your room, like it just felt not clean. The front desk people do not communicate with what you actually need, in order to get a room! THEY HAD AWFUL ATTITUDES!!! Every employee too, So I caught ATITUDE As well. The people are so complicated to get a room here. My husband and I hot tubbed for about 15 mins before they closed at 10 pm. The pool Attendants talked so disgusting to people; they yelled "OKAY get out"! can't even say please? There was hair on the pillow cases and sheets in my mother's room. We were in grand junction for the night and we stayed at the grand vista hotel. The decor of the hotel is old style but they have all the amenities available. The rooms were decent and clean for the price they offer the room. The staff was very helpful and the pool as well as hot tub were clean. The restaurant and bar looked nice. They have live music performance almost every night and offer taco Tuesday.They also offer breakfast and dinner but it can be expensive. The location of the hotel is amazing and it is near Colorado National Monument and there's an easy access to I70. read more

The hotel was not with the price, I should have spent 40 dollars more and gone to a higher end hotel. Lesson learned. The hotel room was clean and easy to find. The hotel is outdated and lacks an inviting feel. The air conditioner/heating is very noisy and you can hear your neighbors. The tv lost signal and stopped working. After setting an alarm, you can hear a ticking noise. You have to pay for parking which doesn't make any sense and is an additional feel. The comforter is thin, and I had to grab the other comforter from the other bed to use as well. I left early after only getting 5 hours of sleep, sleeping in was not an option. They charge 30% on top of the "including taxes and fees" TO PARK ON THEIR LOT.... First and only hotel I met that charges for parking

Let me start with $10 per day for parking. This is unusual when other local hotels have free parking. BEWARE! If you utilize 3rd party booking, check to see the totals. They have the basic room which looks like a good price until you see the total. There are packages that include breakfast for almost no additional when you look at the totals. Places like this try the nickel and dime strategy rather than improving the dated rooms. The rooms have no usable outlets by the bed (either side). The only ones in the main room are the 3 on the desk. The counter person also asked my spouses name "incase they wanted a card key." (Note every location has just given me 2 without even asking. In the past they just asked how many you needed but now they just give 2.) This was the first time that any hotel or motel ever asked me for the names of the people in my party. This just feels like a violation of privacy. This makes me feel that there are other more severe issues with this location. Once again, beware. Supplemental - Upon checkout we noticed that residents of the county (that the hotel is located) are not allowed to stay in this hotel. So, there is something up with this location. read more

Was on a business trip stayed a week here. Good times here. Everyone who are employees here are very kind.

Nice rooms and restaurants but All sorts of hidden fees added to room rate when you arrive: a fee to park your car in their unsecured parking lot and pre-charging for 'incidentals' which they didn't list (no mini bar) by adding an extra $100 to your booked room rate in case you 'skip out on paying for a meal or trash the room.' I'm a world traveler and I've never experienced this before. Most hotels keep credit card on file until you check out for these very issues but treat patrons with respect. This hotel assumes every patron is a criminal by telling you they are charging you first for things you haven't done with the 'promise' of a refund of the $100 if you behave. It remains to be seen if I get my refund though I've done nothing wrong. I will be complaining to the booking agency as well. Reminded me of the old 'Bait and switch' technique. read more

Very nice hotel very clean most comfortable bed that we've had on this trip. The room rate was low but there are additional charges like parking. The bar and grill are really good. Good size mixed drinks and very good tasty food. We ordered the baseball steaks medium rare. They looked like baseballs but the cook knew what he was doing with them. Perfect medium rare, nice chevron char marks excellent flavor and very juicy. The sign advertised live music but we missed that. Any time we're around Grand Junction we will stop here. read more

Graaaaand Junction. I just can't keep away! (Until now) My business partner and I booked through Expedia, Highly recommend for those HOT HOT deals. As my partner (business) and I waddled up to the front door with all our luggage, we were greeted by the smooth tunes of Gary (pictured). A surprise performance with attendance apparently being........ mask optional. After 2 minutes of toe tapping and ear shakin, Gary was old news. It was time to get up to our room. The elevators had all 4 walls mirrored, potentially to seem bigger. This illusion didn't work on me nor my partner of business. DING. The doors opened, we arrived at the 4th floor. The scent of cigarettes with forward notes of cheese seemed to be checking in for the night as well... in our NOSTRILS. The bed was fine. The strangely small pillowed we're not appreciated by my partner (Only business) due to his heavy head. We had lots of business work to do, but the lack of spare outlets made this a bit difficult. Pulled open the blinds to a surprisingly great view... of a better hotel. Although a 2 bed room was booked (company card) my partner and I (strictly professional) slept in the same bed, that way neither one of us could sleep in and be late for our business meeting the next morning. Place is very outdated the bathroom wasn't very clean and lots of black mold and or stocked with toilet paper. Under the beds was food crumbs a fork and a ball not from us.. tv didn't want to work late at night and it says the hotel is a smoke free zone but the rooms and hallways smelled like cigarettes. I would've been better off staying at the motel 8 or motel 6 in the area than here. The price to stay here is not worth it. And paying for parking is just crazy! read more

"I feel like I'm in the twilight zone" - a random lady we encountered while stepping into this hotel. This hotel was built in the 80s and not much about it has changed since then. I will go ahead and say our bed was comfy and clean, and that's the most important part. This hotel offered us a reasonable price while the others in the area price gouged over some event happening. So into the time warp we went. The decor is dated. The doors throughout the rooms are definitely original to the hotel. I think only the bathroom has been updated..but not the plumbing. You get two temperatures for your shower, scalding hot or ice cold. I settled on ice cold so I could keep my skin. The shower head is suitable only for those of us 5'2" or shorter. My husband had to duck down to feel that icy water. I had to use a hair clip to keep the curtains in the room shut. Have that on hand to keep your privacy. It wasn't overly noisy around us so that was a nice unexpected plus. They also let us bring our dog which was also nice. They charged us for parking. Asinine. Breakfast at Olivers the next day (restaurant hotel) was really what polished off this visit. They charged us $40 for the most mundane breakfast ever and coffee I actually had to spit out was $5. We went to Starbucks and paid the same for something actually consumable. Anyways, we got some good laughs out of this. Never again though. read more

I have been working in Grand Junction the past few months and have stayed here the whole time. Staff is amazing. The rooms are always kept very clean and offer all the amenities I need. My only dislike is the small fridge that makes it hard to store a weeks worth of food in, but there is a Safeway just down the street so I just go twice a week. The lounge is great and the nightly live music is entertaining. They offer access to a full gym down the street that puts a Planet Fitness to shame. I HIGHLY recommend this place especially for the price! read more

The hotel is somewhat dated. The room we had was a "junior suite" . It was roomy but dated. The staff is very nice and helpful. I would definitely not recommend adding the breakfast buffet. It was the most ridiculous excuse for a breakfast buffet, they only have scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy ( biscuits cut into small dry pieces and the gravy is simple white tasteless paste), extra charge if you want any meat, whoever heard of that? They already have you paying for the room, and then they add $10 extra a night just to park in third parking lot! I was awaken Ed early every morning to this LARGE SOUND, every morning for the room on the side of us, sounded like a helicopter. Soooo at 7am, I'm in the shower to almost no water pressure and scalding got water or just cold water,... No in between setting. We finally get our of our room at 730am, only to find this industrial fan in front of the room that was on the side of our room, on full blast. We called front desk only to hear, "we have no information on that room." I then asked if cleaning people could turn it off as it was hard to sleep. Was told by front desk "cleaning crew has permission to do whatever they need to do to get rooms ready". Needless to say, not happy about that The next night: again with the fan. Since we're couldn't sleep, I went down the hall to get a bottle of soda. I got changed on my credit card for $6.50 and the machine said it was $1.50. Again, I spoke to front desk and was told "were don't own those machines, were can give you a number for the company that owns them..." WTF?? Then on our way to check out, we weren't to the onsite restaurant for breakfast. The buffet was sorta gross, biscuits broken up in a pan. Dried out food and it looked sorta gross, so we decided order off the menu.. This was a big mistake! Each of our menus had different prices for the same item!! Our bill for basic breakfasts, eggs, toast, coffee, and a cheese omelet was $55. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. THE ENTIRE STAY EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. Do not waste your money or stay here, pick somewhere else even if it's in a nearby city. If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would and for many reasons. The rooms and service were basic but the main issue was the excess costs and fees that were not disclosed. 1. Our party had booked several rooms, some through Expedia and another by calling the hotel directly. At no time were we told there would be an additional $100 deposit to stay at the hotel, that should be disclosed. In addition, they charged everyone's card before we even got and stayed in the hotel. This is not an AirBnB, hotels should not charge deposits and they should not charge until guests have left, some guests wish to pay by other means. 2. At no time were we told there would be a $14 per day parking fee. Again, this is 2023 and to pay that is ridiculous. It was a mere parking lot at the hotel, with no valet service, and no parking garage. 3. They charge overpriced rates for food at the hotel. A bowl of oatmeal was $10, a plate of fruit was $14 & a cup of coffee was $3, an omelet was $14. For the rates they charge per night, basic continental breakfast should be provided for free. To add salt to the wound, we paid the server in cash and card and the server charged the full amount to the card. When I called the hotel to complain about the issue and talked to accounting, the server did not turn in the cash so I believe he was trying to pocket the money. I asked the hotel GM to contact me but a week later, no one has reached out to me. read more

Awful! Definitely do not recommend. 1. Gave us a dirty room that was someone else's- deactivating their room cards as well. 2. Blamed us for it somehow???? 3. Gave us another room- which was also assigned to someone else and they were in there- deactivated those peoples cards as well 4. Split our group apart due to their room assignment mistakes on three different floors 5. Roller bed is awful and not sleepable at all. Ended up having to squish together due to the small beds- not quite sure when we called why they asked if we were with the tour group/ why was that relevant. And we called and waited so we went down and asked again and they didn't even have the call original request even written down. 6. Our outlet started smelling like gas for about three hours and all they could offer was a bottle of Lysol or their worst room above the karaoke bar which you can hear everything through. 7. On top of having to stay up because of the gas and outlet situation, we had to pack and unpack multiple times due to these issues and potential room changes 8. The toilet would not flush and we had 3 people and an early wake up call 5am. The front desk attendant named Lyvonne I believe was truly so rude to our tour guide and my entire family and myself. Not quite sure if it was a race thing or she didn't want to admit she fumbled managing properly with the room situations but either way she was awful and when she realized she was wrong a few hours later she was laying it on thick being extra nice. Room service was tasty and the lady who delivered it was very nice. Oh! Did I mention being able to hear the guest above me peeing? (he/she should get checked out by a doctor!) The bed was clean and comfy but the pillows look like they belong to hobbits. These same hobbits seem to have designed the room as everything was wee: low shower head, low office chair, tiny fridge and microwave. Even fingerprints on the full length mirror were low. They were also ominous like tiny greasy ghosts were present - possibly hobbit ghosts. The clientele on this day were a bunch of rootin tootin hollering foghorns. My room (315).. smelled like old cigarettes and piss. No complementary coffee in lobby, have to buy in restaurant or use room coffee maker conveniently placed 4 feet from the toilet. A/C unit in room had 2 modes... On/off and nothing in between. Alway check your door and make sure it closes behind you, many times mine didn't. Drunk idiots banging around halfway all hours of the night. It's a dump... spend a little more $$ and avoid this smelly. I guess I should say something nice... ***Housekeeping staff clean rooms with their masks off. I noticed two without masks in the rooms, it freaked me out so I spoke with the front desk about. I was told that they are following Mesa County's recommended protocol, which allows for staff to clean rooms without face coverings. Before staying in any hotel in this county (and everywhere else, I guess), ask if the staff wear masks while cleaning rooms. Never occured to me that they wouldn't. Staff are permitted to ready the room with their masks off, they wipe down high-touch surfaces with their masks off. We're only human. We all sneeze, we cough, we our rub our noses when they're itchy. read more

This is the second time I have stayed at this property. It's an older hotel that is close to the airport. When I checked in, I was told that I needed to pay a parking fee. I advised the employee that I was never advised that there was a charge for parking. She said it started in November and that it was stated in the terms and conditions on Expedia. After I got to my room, I looked in the terms and conditions and it only mentioned a $100 refundable deposit for damages. The confirmation email also never stated a charge for parking. When I mentioned this when I checked out the next morning, I was told that wasn't the hotels fault since it is on their website and blamed Expedia. Apparently, they don't believe the charge needs to be stated on the booking website. For the parking charge, you get to park in a dimly lit, unsecured area. read more
