Beautiful property. Outstanding service. Incredible views. CLEAN and comfy. Nice bar. Great breakfast. Elevator was small and creaky so we opted for the stairs. Also, it's a steep climb from the main street to the hotel so could be a tough walk for some.

Not a whole lot of choices when staying in Lake Placid. This place is right next to the Olympic Center and an easy walk, unfortunately uphill both ways, to most places downtown. Rooms were clean. Hotel was relatively quiet. The lake view rooms had a gorgeous lake view. Front desk staff were helpful. Price was quite reasonable.

Ever want to be king or queen of Lake Placid?? Look down upon the cute town centre. Beautiful views of the mountains and mirror lake... The Crown is for you! Also walking up and down the hill to get to the action will get your thighs burning! They have a full bar and menu restaurant. Hopefully soon they will resume room service. Large pool and hot tub that only stays open until 9:30 and a beautiful gym with a weight set! Normally I stay here for my work trips.

Morning view from my third floor window on an earlier trip.

I've stayed at this hotel a handful of times. This week's stay did not disappoint. Its a favorite especially in Autumn. The location, atop a steep hill, is truly picture perfect with a grand view. From the front desk, to the restaurants, and housekeeping, service does not disappoint. Lots of places to sit outside and enjoy friends and family. Shopping and restaurants are all walkable though the steep hill and stairs are a bit tough for those who aren't quite fit.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in November for his birthday. The property is lovely! It was a bit rainy so we didn't get to take advantage of the fire pit unfortunately. We also didn't try out the pool because it was a little too busy for my rewired Covid brain but it looked very nice. Our room was very clean and had all the amenities standard for a room these days plus some. I was happy to have a mini fridge for our wine and snacks. Even though we didn't get a room with "a view" the scenery is so nice any direction you look so we were pleased. Our 2nd night there, we ventured to the restaurant. We each had a drink off their specials menu at the bar while we waited for a table. It didn't take long for us to get a table (which is good because we were hungry!) We shared the calamari appetizer, I had the steak with fingerling potatoes and my husband had the chicken sandwich with house made chips. We almost licked our plates clean!! Everything was cooked so well and our waitress was very personable and pleasant. Would definitely go back again!

Bar/restaurant atmosphere - great fireplace and view!

Stopped for dinner. Bloody Mary was good, and great ambiance while enjoying it. French onion soup was a bit thin, although provolone and Swiss on it was a good flavor. Butternut squash ravioli were great, bits on pancetta in it. Wild returns!

Staff is excellent. Super nice. Hotel offers amenities including a pool, a mini fridge, & microwave. I went during an off season but there are lots of souvenir shops and restaurants s on the street below.

This beautiful restaurant with absolutely stunning views was recommended by a friend who summers on Lake Titus. We were able to sit outside and marvel at the beautiful lake. I ordered shrimp tacos. The tacos were crunch and loaded with small shrimp, corn, peppers and sauce. So delicious and so filling. One friend has the mushroom burger. It was huge and juicy cooked to perfection. We all shared the sweet potato fries that were delicious. Reasonably priced for the area.

Great place, stayed for hockey tournament. It's clean and beautiful. Great location. The food in the bar area was great and the staff was wonderful

Even though my friend, and I see it a short visit, the staff and management were all super helpful and willing to answer any other questions. The grounds were very clean, and the room was quite spacious. I particularly loved all the amazing views that this place had to offer. Lots and lots and lots of wood, what do you expect from the Adirondacks the pools open as well as the Jacuzzi... And was even better is that is open until 9:30 PM which is truly a godsend when you spent most of your day outdoors in the cold or driving in the car for long periods of time. I highly recommend this place, especially when staying during the week and winter months.

Lovely sunset view from balcony room. Notice the sloping hill.

I love this hotel! Every time I visit Lake Placid, I will only ever book here. I think the staff is great - helpful, informative and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the lake view rooms are a must. It's just incredible to sit on the balcony and watch the sunrise and sunset beyond the lake and mountains. Their breakfast is good and the dinner options in their restaurant are great. Crowne Plaza, please always keep the "veggie Chiquin" option on the menu - I am so thankful for that! I also love that I get a workout every time I come & go from the hotel on foot. It's situated on a steep hill which really works your legs. Looking forward to my next stay!

This was a romantic getaway planned by my husband. This place has a pool & other amenities (if you are taking some one here check them out before so you can be prepared) We walked around Mirror lake leisurely, holding hands and taking in the beauty of the fall foliage. We shopped at the shops and enjoyed the north country immensely The places of delicious food were sprinkled throughout! The lobby & hotel restaurant were cozy & exceptional! We asked for an old fashioned coffee maker for our room (because we purchased fresh coffee that we had grind in the way up) The front desk never responded if they had one we could use or could possibly provide one for us , the restaurant wouldn't brew us a pot when asked. Unfortunately they only provided a Kuerig machine. Had they provided s an old fashioned coffee pot it would have been 5

We stayed at Crowne Plaza Lake Placid for a night after visiting Whiteface Mountain. The location of the hotel is on a hill of the town and has a wonderful view of Lake Mirror. It has multiple wings and you have to follow the instructions to take certain escalator or you will not get to your room. Check in-out process was quick and staff was friendly. We got upgraded to a lake view room as IHG member which was pretty nice. Our room was on upper floor and very quiet. The room was not very big but enough for two of us. The shower head was leaking but we fixed it with a towel. They have KCup machine in the room but the coffee tasted pretty bad. Luckily, there are many coffee shops (locals and Starbucks) in walkable distance. Overall, I would still recommend this place since it is the more decent hotel in the town.

    Roomy parking lot!

Yulia the manager moved us to the room across the hall since ours was taken and we wanted to stay longer and ended up in number 10 for the past 2 nights. What bliss! The staff was amazing! They were available easily by text or phone and accommodated us with any need we had! Towels... change of sheets, cleaning. We went back again the following year, last year 2023 and stayed in another suite since the ones we wanted were not available but without fail, we loved everything about our stay! This time dad came along and he enjoyed it too. Needless to say, we look super forward to being there again this year! Third year in a row! Thank you!

What is most impressive though is the employees seem genuinely proud to be here and happy to help. Troy delivered our room service from cottage (part of property but not in our building) came in 15 minutes and with a smile. April servicing the 6th floor housekeeping was available, attentive, and lovely. For those who dock their review over the 8% service charge #1 read your bill #2 these people are very good at what they do and deserve more than 8%. I constantly saw employees (non-invasively) cleaning and tidying; one time the elevator opened and one of the staff members in a black blazer was shining the interior elevator stainless steel features. Also impressive is how *every* team member from front desk, to spa, to pool technician, to house keeping, to managers, to wait staff, etc are all exceptional. Food: The View - restaurant attached to property was great for breakfast. Demir was also exceptional, and again seemed genuinely happy to be there. I appreciated how all members of the staff (maître d, owners, servers, busers) were equally present and eager to help. The Cottage - across the street, such a nice cozy spot out of the center of downtown, can really appreciate the view. Amenities: as I said to Tony in the pool/hottub I have no clue how they keep an indoor, warm, wet climate so clean. Zero mold. Zero rotting of the wood items. So impressive. Not a big indoor pool fan but as a mom, I appreciate the joy it brings to kids and families and what a great option to break up your day without needing to leave the property. Decor: the people reviewing negatively about the dated decor cracks me up. I agree there are some carpets and decor features that are dated and as someone who was here just for a wedding sure, not my favorite. But from my convos and observations the bulk of their clientele are repeat customers who adore the traditional and familiar decor. The really neat historic photos & memorabilia also clearly stamp that this IS the vibe they're going for. And nothing is "dated" that negatively impacts your experience; tv, windows, bathroom, kitchenettes, all updated. This place has so much history and families who value their traditions, I appreciate & respect that. And the lobby (here at Christmas time) is absolutely charming. One final note, I read reviews of this place before coming and the managers named 9000x to just tell them the feedback and they'll fix it. Then I checked in and there was a clear and easy to fill out review card. This place clearly wants to please and do right by their customers which I also really respect.

Checking in was great, friendly, professional, and she explained the property and recognized my status and perks. First impressions of the property are the attention to detail throughout, including the room. It definitely looks like it belongs in the Adirondacks. I got to my room and immediately noticed the view through the bedroom window of Mirror Lake, which was nice. The attention to detail I notice about the building itself extended into the room when I noticed the solid brass door hinges on the bedroom doors and the patinaed plumbing fixtures and handles on the sink, shower, and yes the toilet too! Housekeeping does a nice job keeping everything clean and nice looking for guests and they did a great job refreshing my room each of my three nights/days there. The TVs in my room were great... remotes worked perfectly and they features Pluto TV (A "must have" for me these days!) as well as a very large local TV selection. Plenty of outlets in the room too. Bedding was beautiful and clean. The issues I had with the room were that the bed was EXTREMELY NOISY! Each time I moved, turned over while sleeping, etc it made these very loud "springy" sounds like there was an orgy going on in that bed at that time - Very Unacceptable! The mattress wasn't very comfy. The biggest issue was that the HVAC didn't do anything. I set the temp for 65 degrees with "cool" being on and it rarely turned on and when it did, it was loud so you had to turn up the TV. Also, the room really never went below 70 degrees, even though the thermostat on the wall that controls the HVAC says it's 65 - It's WRONG! This was such a HUGE issue for me, because of the 3 nights I stayed there, I hardly slept. I woke up at 3AM the first 2 nights and the last night, I woke up at 12:30AM - Ridiculous! If it weren't the lack of sleep, I'd give this property a much higher review, but since I'm paying for a comfortable place to lay my head, I have to dock 1.5 stars from the 5 star property this has the potential to be - giving it 3 stars and since it affected my sleep, I'm going on the low end to 3. Sorry, but it is what it is.
