Went once and spent 40 mins using the app to get day passes at the front because that is the only way to purchase the pass. Legit that was INSANE! I saw a bunch of others out there struggling too. Based on reviews, this has been an issue for years. They could at least have a sign up or a note on their website that you should use a desktop version of the app. The tech for the mobile version must be mediocre or something because using it on the phone takes 30-40 mins legit. Tried going back another time because after we finally could go in, we had a great time. Friendly families everywhere and the pool itself was nice. This time, I bought tickets ahead of time so we would not have the long wait at the entry. Pop up storms were forecast- we were cool to be in and out of the pool, and it's hard to know sometimes what the weather is doing in other parts of the city. Well, we got there with the tickets paid for this time, and it was a weather delay so we couldn't get in the water for 90 minutes at the time we left, and the delay was continued because the day ended up stormy (not originally forecast). We ended up not getting to swim. They said that since the pool was technically open, I wouldn't receive a refund. I was like, I mean the reason we are here is for the water and that part is closed. No. No refund or call back from the Parks and Rec department. I normally don't write long saga negative reviews, but it seemed like since you obviously have to buy tickets ahead of time bc of that process, they should at least have a notice on the page before you pay that the water is closed for a weather delay before you spend money that day. I have loved this pool for years and long before the fantastic renovations. The entire staff team is so friendly and the pool areas are clean and comfortable. The snack bar is great for cheap treats and the pool has a slide, 3 diving boards, a walk-in main pool, lap pools...there's just so much room! Our fave part are the grassy areas with huge permanent shade umbrellas. I took off one star for a couple reasons: one, the grassy areas get really wet/muddy. It's worth it for the shade, but it can be a mess if you lay towels in the grass. The other reason is that they allow a lot of water toys in the pools. I've lost count how many times I've been hit with people throwing toys/balls and have been squirted in the face with super soakers. Honestly, I wish throwing balls wasn't allowed at all. read more

This has been the ultimate pool summer! I'm not a public pool person normally but we took our niece and nephew to the newly remodeled Grandview pool and had a great time! There are a few different pools here to check out. They have a high and low dive area with its own pool, a lap pool, and a separate shallow infant pool. The main pool area has some mini fountains, two fun slides and an entrance area that starts shallow and gets deeper as you keep walking. This makes it a great pool for even little children. There are open sun as well as shaded areas, super clean bathrooms and a snack bar. Overall I love the newly built pool! read more

The new advanced purchase system is a disaster. Families want to quickly enter and swim, not stand outside on their phones figuring out how to make detailed profiles for everyone and entering credit card information. It took us 40 minutes outside the pool entrance on the hottest day of the year to get everybody signed up and to find out it's $16 for "non-resident" adults. Insane. "Adults" are 8 years and up. I went to Grandview Heights schools and swam in these pools for decades and now it feels like an overpriced country club. Once we entered, it is nice. Staff is really polite. Whoever is in charge of music loves Jimmy Buffet, they played "margaritaville" three times in the span of an hour and a half. read more

The Grandview Pool is very cool. Get there early if you want a chair, No other pool can even compare. The ladies at the snack bar have all the hot gos, And the lifeguards let you know who's boss. I have always loved the Grandview pool and have been coming here even before the renovation. It's clean and the people are friendly. Taking off two stars because I expect to have a pool chair when I pay $14 on the weekends and $10 on the weekdays to get in. I see countless kids under the age of 8 that have chairs and I just don't see the point. Also- I came today and the entire dive and lap pool are closed off for the day. To be charged full price to use half of the facilities is ridiculous. But still- love you grandview pool. Just get some things in order. Get more beach chairs for the love of god! read more

The new profile system is ridiculous!! 30 minutes to get signed up at the door. It didn't work. Each person with you has to make a profile and sign up! It was practically a credit application to fill out for it not to work and then it started raining so we left. The staff is very nice and helpful but the profile system is painfully dumb. I've had a pass to the GMP for the past three summers. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is it's still just a pool. Maybe if there were muscular men in tiny suits applying suntan lotion on my bare skin I'd bump it up to five. Hey, GMP, get to work on that. . . Last year they added chairs so you don't have to bring your own (although you are allowed to). I think the deck chairs are very nice, and so does everyone else. You need to get there before noon and after about 3 to snag one. They have grass that you can spread your towels and chairs on and a few umbrellas you can sit under. There is a small concession stand which has guilty pleasures like nachos with the fake cheese sauce and snow cones. I normally pack myself a snack and drink and indulge once or twice a summer on concessions. Adult time begins at 45 after the hour and lasts for fifteen minutes. That's usually the only time I get in the pool unless it's really hot. I don't have children and I don't particularly care for children. Let me tell you, it must be a law that to live in Grandview you have to have a minimum of three kids. That being said, I guess that makes this a good pool for families. And honestly, the kids don't bother me too much. When I start to get all crazed about getting splashed I remind myself "you are in a pool, you are going to get wet," and that usually helps bring me down. It can actually be an interesting people watching venue if you go somewhat regularly. There are the older women that have skin much like fine Italian leather who always sit in the same spot and gossip. Then there are a couple cute single dads that the moms all chat up. And then as someone else mentioned, they play really good music. read more

This is an excellent place to hang out on a hot day. The pool is very clean and lots for the family to enjoy. Seating can be limited as well as parking spaces. The lifeguards are very nice and very aware of their people in the pool. This is a vast improvement with the remodeling that has been done. I called for two simple questions and the woman was extremely rude. She seemed to be bother by my phone call that lasted 1 minute. Not a great way to represent your pool and have guests come. I was excited to find a pool near me after moving to columbus, only for them to be extremely rude. I won't be going. read more

Been going here for years as a nearby-but-not Grandview resident. Have always loved it but the new pool pricing launched this season seems elitist and exclusionary. As half of a double income no kids couple, I could technically afford $16 a person for myself and my spouse, but for many residents of Columbus, that's more than an hour's worth of pay for one person to go swimming for a few hours. With the costs of EVERYTHING climbing, even I will be spending my money elsewhere this season,which is truly sad as going to the Grandview pool is one of my favorite small summer joys. While other pools are becoming more accommodating during these record high temps, Grandview is becoming more exclusive and honestly is suffering quite the identity crisis. It's not a country club, but rather a tax funded city pool. Shame on you Grandview. Do better. If it's an issue of occupancy, then set a daily maximum crowd or something but this honestly just seems like you're trying to keep out the "riff raff" and its gross. Also, having seen the aftermath of the annual dog swim and all of the residual pee/poo, you can't get that pool clean enough. read more

Great little pool...does the job! No fancy play areas or slides, but a good old fashioned pool. Not too big...couple diving boards, chairs for adults, grassy area and a baby pool. It looks like they have concessions but I didn't try it out. Read they are going to renovate by 2017, which is kinda a bummer because prices will likely skyrocket and it will bring in a lot more traffic! :( read more

This is a very basic pool, no bells an whistles. What I really like about it this season (2011) is that the lifeguards & manager have great taste in music (modern/alternative/some more obscure). I highly recommend the swimming lessons for the kids...@ $25 for GV members it's a steal! read more
