Contracted this company through Lowes to install Silestone countertops. From the start all phases were on time and done very well. The man who measured used equipment that gave very precise measurements and was definitely experienced. He made suggestions to improve the look of the work we and we took his advice. Good move on our part. Their installers were on time and all pieces fit perfectly. We had one seam and if you were unaware there is no way to see the seam when finished. These men did the little finishing installation work to make everything so nice. They also explained what they were doing and ask our approval on certain installation factors that might be done two ways. They did it right. What a nice job. L Roath read more

Good job from start to finish. Only glitches were: a) plumber was sloppy gluing sink down, got glue on granite and sink itself, b) H/D did not properly coordinate install of counter top and dishwasher, so the installers had to come back a second time and a second visit was necessary to pickup dishwasher also . They installed a piece of counter top that was not cut uniformly. Along one side, it was clearly a half inch wider. They eventually returned to fix the counter top and it looks good now. They had to turn the piece upside down and reinstall it. I have no idea why they didn't make it right the first time, but in any case, they did take care of it. read more

If you are looking to satisfy your granite or marble needs in a simple manner with great customer service, Granite and Marble Express is not for you. I was scheduled for a countertop installation and assured the installer would arrive at 9:00. After 11:00, I had to call the company, at which point they told me the installer would not show up until noon. I had to reschedule the entire installation. After installation of my countertop and sink, they hooked up my dishwasher, but it would no longer drain. After 3 more trips to my home (after each of which they lied and told me the dishwasher was fully-functioning), they decided to tell me they could not do anything about my non-functional dishwasher. My concerns were not taken seriously and no remedy was ever found. I was told my dishwasher (which had been functioning perfectly before their installers touched it) was just too old and I needed to purchase a new one (and of course, they mentioned they would be happy to install it!). I would never go into another person's house to complete one job and create another problem-that is just not how you do business. I will never be doing business again with Granite & Marble Express. read more

We had a great experience here. From picking out the quartz countertops to measuring to the install. They did a very professional job and all of their people were nice and knew their stuff. My kitchen looks great. I was really nervous after reading the reviews and Home Depot doesn't give you a choice, but I would have them come back and do my bathrooms or downstairs bar anytime. Purchased a new kitchen countertop through Lowes. Then, Lowes contracted with GME. Measurements person came within a couple of days. Installers were fast, great and clean. Had problem with sink not being centered on the kitchen window. Fred came and evaluated the situation and committed to a new slab. New slab was installed five days later and was correct. Again, installers were fantastic. Countertop was correct and GME installed two free end-of-counter/wall backsplashes that we had not thought of on our original contract. Kitchen looks fantastic. Company did fulfill the contract and was very responsive and helpful. Happy to recommend them. I've been trying to contact them to schedule my installation for my kitchen countertops for over a week. Valorie is apparently the only contact who has the power to schedule. She calls around 12 o'clock and while most people work, you miss it and tell your contact information. I call back and leave a Voicemail. She calls again around 12 the next two days, again I call and get a voicemail. The third day, I missed it by 2 mins, call immediately back to her extension and she never answers. Horrible customer service. I will re-review their installation portion of the contract once (if ever) I get it completed. read more

Fantastic experience! We had Silestone installed in our kitchen and marble for our master and guest bathrooms. We also had them install new sinks. They had a beautiful selection of various types of stone in the show room. The salesman helping us was very polite and patient. On installation day, the workers were very careful in our townhouse not to damage anything which was a challenge considering that our stairwell from the front door to the middle floor is very narrow. They also left the space nice and clean! I was amazed by how quickly and cleanly they completed the job. We absolutely LOVE our counters! read more

4.5 stars--this site doesn't allow for half stars. We contracted through Lowe's for quartz counter tops in our large kitchen and worked with GME as their vendor for this service. In our experience, this is a very professional organization who, from top to bottom, sincerely want to do the right thing for the customer. They are exceptionally polite, and on the ball with communications, explaining what will happen and when and following up with reminders. They're punctual. The quality of the stone is top notch--really impressive. I purchased high-end stone for our old house from a different vendor and found that some imperfect pieces of stone were used as back splashes--that wasn't the case with GME. The installation--installers simply couldn't be better. These guys were pros--worked clean, laid down tarps to protect the floors, did an immaculate sealing and caulking job to secure and finish the counters, and most importantly, perfectly drilled the holes for the faucet (with drills that had new bits that pierced the stone with no chips). I know from past experience with a different vendor that dull bits can chip and actually crack the stone and that happened. In that case the hairline crack was epoxied and though the fix held up, we had to live with an imperfect result. GME also installed the sink and plumbing. When using GME, and I recommend that you do, I would encourage you be involved in going through all the specs, and paperwork and be certain that any verbal arrangements you have made are evidenced in the final schematic. There's no short-cut to this. Even though they will come out and measure for you, you really do need to take the extra time to ensure that the paperwork reflects the thickness of the stone you want, the agreed price, counter overhangs, etc. Take your time with the final draft they send and make sure it's right, don't let them hurry you in this regard. We did have an issue that came up with regards to one of these aspects and after some back and forth the matter was resolved to our complete satisfaction. These are very decent people to work with and I greatly appreciate Fred's commitment to our project. read more

Purchased counters through Lowe's. Avoid this company at all costs - they decide when they are going to measure. They won't accommodate later appointments during the week and forget about Saturdays, they will tell you they are booked for a month out. Called them to try and work something out, waste of my time. "You Will Be Happy" ? I expected a little more satisfaction- I measured, they measured ,I remeasured and called to change two dimensions. I did'nt want an excessive gap so I added 3/4" of stone to a piece between my range and refrigerator. When I got home I could not believe what they did, the extra stone was overhanging towards my refrigerator. I have a standard 30" range so I am surprised they could not put the granite right up against it? The gap is excessive to me after I point it out ,people see what I am talking about . I am not happy told them this and they came out and took a picture? They also cut the cord to my stove which is an accident, no problem there. The Sink they sold had a small dent barely noticeable I can overlook even that. But they need to learn when the customer calls three times for dimensions stops at the store three times that this customer cares alot about there job and how it will look. Customer service is more important than ever with reviews available today.They deal in large volume there, I do think they did an excellent job cutting the stone and seaming it. BTW if I did not call and changed the dimensions it would have looked much worse. Recheck dimensions and be present during installation and you may be happy. read more

I had a great experience with this company so I'm not sure why the low yelp ratings. Last week they fabricated and installed beautiful Silestone quartz countertops for my galley kitchen and a piece for a L shaped bar counter. They have the 2 cm (~3/4 inch) thinner quartz that I chose for a more modern look, making my smaller kitchen look less small. The whole process went pretty quick, even after I changed my mind to go to 2 cm from 3 cm thick. After initially talking with them, they were able to send someone out within a week to take measurements, then were able to do install the next week. The sales person was excellent to work with, very professional, and he was able to give me the best price compared to the other companies who gave me quotes. He was prompt at answering emails, was available during install in case I had questions, and followed-up after install to make sure I was satisfied. The rest of the people on his team were also very good and easy to work with. Stuart, the guy who came out to take measurements was very thorough and helped answer questions about knee space for a bar top and overhangs. Willian and Modesto were the installers. They were very careful bringing in the heavy quartz into my condo (I don't have a loading dock), and into my unit. They also had to do some work making sure my bar top was level before putting on the counters. They were very conscious about the dust it would create, so one guy was vacuuming the dust while the other was using a machine to shave the drywall. read more

If possible, I would give this business zero stars. They sold us granite with more than 10 cracks in the slab and then refused to take responsibility for their product. Their excuse was that we did not thoroughly inspect the slab, which is completely ridiculous since I called their company as soon as I saw the cracks. Either way, the granite slab is THEIR product that THEY sold to a consumer. I am now filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Virginia. This seems to be the only way to resolve the matter since their workers are exceptionally rude. When speaking to one of their workers, I had to remind him that cutting off a customer mid-sentence was entirely unacceptable. As a result, just explaining my situation took nearly ten minutes. Honestly, I wish I had recorded that ridiculous conversation on my phone. read more

I purchased my kitchen through Lowe's and this is the company that they use to measure and install countertops. The person who came out and measure did an excellent job. The installers, not so much. I don't know if they actually inspect the countertops before they send them out for installation. The countertop came with a chip in it. I asked for it to be replaced, and since it was an 8' piece, they would only repair it. The backslash had a piece missing from it. They tried to fix it but that made it look worse. They did agree to replace the backsplash, but while removing the backsplash, they messed up my wall, which I had to fix. I was super disappointed in the size of the sink. I was told I was getting a standard sink, which is much smaller than the one I replaced. I wish my designer had told me how small it was going to be, I would have chosen something larger. I had a undermount sink installed, and the installers drilled the hole for the faucet on-site. They didn't drill in the right place and the water doesn't shoot directly into the drain. Very annoyed to spend so much money and not be happy. Do youself a favor, find another company. read more

I have my granite installed by Marble and Granite Express. I was dealing with Mr. Mo Nikpay. He was helpful throughout the entire process and was very accommodating. The people who did the measurements and the people who did the installation are top notch. After the granite was installed we realized that we needed a tiny hole in the granite for the downdraft switch. I called Mr. Nikpay and he arranged for his installer to come back and do the hole. My granite looks perfect and beautiful. I highly recommend this company and Mr. Nikpay for his excellent service. read more

I wish I had seen these reviews prior to doing business with this company. 7 out of 9 bad 1 star reviews speaks volumes!!! We contracted this company through Home Depot project services to build a bar in our basement. Unfortunately, the entire experience has been a disaster. First off, they will consistently misinform you when you contact them for clarification on the process. The contractor will then come out and tell you something contradictory from what you were initially told by phone. They will also try their best to nickel and dime you with bogus fees such as "trip fees" etc any chance they get. We ended up just canceling the entire order because according to them THEY COULD NOT DO A TEMPLATE because of a discrepancy with our measurements when compared to theirs. Well... The next thing we know we are being charged a "template fee" for a template that they did not do; a template we never received. I'm not sure how they get away with it and why Home Depot would allow these miscellaneous charges but we will Dispute this and escalate it until we get resolution. They are the worst. Save yourself the hassle and stress... Don't do business with Granite & Marble Express! read more

It seems like every time I talk to some one or hear from them that my estimate goes up. And of course they always have their reasons. The estimates have also been wrong twice so far with other adjustments that we talk about and then they don't implement. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO ANY ONE OF THE MANY OTHER OPTIONS IN THE AREA! The staff who work there have no idea what the pricing is for everything and have to go next door or something to ask and find out. The attitude of every one there seems to be that they would rather be burning themselves with hot coals or something than to actually have to do their job and provide customer services. I could go on and on but heed the other reviews and don't waste your time here. You'll only frustrate yourself. read more

Had nothing but problems with this company. I went through Lowe's for my kitchen install (Lowe's was great and did what they could to recify the issues with this company). They were ok when I went to pick out my slabs (though I had to wait a while because they only had 1 person working). But after leaving 2 messages to set up a time for them to measure (which neither time they returned the call), I had to call a 3rd time to get them to set up a day (on a Friday). That day, they told me someone would call by 5pm on Monday (the day before the appointment to measure)--no one did. I had to call them at 5pm on Monday. The person gave me a time (like 12-2), so I arranged someone to be at my house at that time on Tuesday. However, Tuesday am I got a phone call around 10:30 saying they were coming because, according to that guy, I was on the schedule for an earlier time. Then, for the install day, they actually did call me the night before and gave me a time (like 11-1). At 8:30, they called again saying they were on their way and I was on the schedule for earlier--they did end up waiting until someone could get there. And, the installers forgot one of the pieces for the bar, so they had to arrange to come back the next morning to install that one. In addition, after I had already been to their warehouse and picked out a slab, I was sent the measurements for my approval along with a waiver (because they seemed to have no record of the paperwork from my visit to pick out the slabs-- later, I was told by someone that something happened to the slabs). After speaking with someone (I still have no idea who she is), she wanted to compensate me with a $200 cutting board-- I said no thanks!!! I would NOT recommend this company unless you want a headache. read more

We visited the warehouse first, where they were extremely helpful, and then kept a couple of slabs on hold for at least two months until we were ready to move forward. They kept in regular contact and made sure I knew who would be coming to the house on the day of the install. And the install itself was outstanding. Just over a year ago (NOV 05) we had the Miller Lumber Co. contract granite counter tops from this company. The lager piece where I so most of me work, including the piece next to the stove have worked out well. The small section next to ref, not so well. It has developed small holes. We had the Lumber Company contact Granite & Marble Express about this and were told they would absolutely do nothing for us. You would think they would at least come look at the problem and see if they could fix it in some way! I will definitely check the yelp rates before using another company. read more

Was I happy? No, I was not. After all the measuring and providing them with our sink template and their rep measuring the sink, they still couldn't get the sink cut correctly and we had to refuse delivery of the slab. They tried to say that they could caulk it so it would look good; they could re-work the corners etc. But the fact of the matter is the corner radius' were incorrect and they cut the hole too big so that the undermount sink edges on the sides showed. So if you are going to use this company, be prepared to use one of their sinks so their CAD programmer won't have to adjust the program for a custom cut sink! read more

My husband and I thought this was easily the least stressful part of our whole-house renovation project. They came when they said they would. They measured accurately. When I called in a panic over suddenly deciding that I wanted a 1/2" taller backsplash a full two days after I'd signed off on their measurements, they still made it happen for me. They didn't even nickel and dime me over the extra square footage that technically resulted from that change. They installed several days ago with zero drama. Easy, in, out, did their job, were polite, were clean. Our weird old cabinets weren't level but they shimmed it up so that the counter top is perfect. Then they did a follow-up call to see that everything had gone well, gave me the chance to address concerns -- but hey, I had none! I got them through Home Depot, but if we ever do this again, honestly, I think I'll just go straight to G&M Express. read more

We had a horrible experience with Granite and Marble Express. The sales process was easy - we picked out a beautiful slab, but once it came time for installation, the process was a nightmare. First, it came and the granite cracked within 48 hours of installation. Then the granite for our fireplace kept cracking during the cutting process at their facility, but they failed to tell us that and our contractor waited at our house the whole day during the scheduled installation visit only for no one to show up to install the granite! Wasted money for us which their only response was empty apologies and for them to mistakenly reschedule the installation on a Saturday which is not a day that the installers work! I moved my whole weekend schedule to be home waiting for an installer to come for no one to arrive AGAIN. Finally a month after our granite should have been completely installed, it was in and the cracks were fixed. Horrible customer service, I can still see where the cracks were in the granite, the fix was not perfect. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Please don't use them. read more

I had my granite installed about a month ago and I'm still trying to get some paperwork on warranty, care instructions etc. My contractor and I both had to call multiple times to get on the schedule. The installation went ok but there were spots of adhesive left on part of the granite that is very difficult, if not impossible, to remove. I asked for no seam (I think it was doable) and they didn't seem to even entertain my request. They did not wipe down the granite after installation - treated my kitchen like a construction site instead of a home. I didn't feel they left a 'finished product'. After they were done they left without leaving me one piece of paper. I asked how to take care of the granite - they said soap and water and left. I have no warranty information and have called the office a couple of times and been promised they would send in the mail. I should have withheld the balance due until they did. They may think they are the monopoly but I would say - shop around. I would pay a higher price to have some service. The ONLY helpful person I encountered was Shima in sales. read more
