We had three bathrooms remodeled with KBR Kitchen and Bath. From start to finish all we had was problems. It took over "two years" and the County of Fairfax had to get involved for them to take care of us. They did sloppy and unsafe work. This was confirmed by independent inspectors that we hired and the County of Fairfax Permit Department. Below are some highlights. -Multiple Code Violations for electrical, plumbing and structural issues. -Multiple leaks with ceiling damage. -Our master bath had to be demolished 3 times for them to resolve issues that they generated. -Over 100 issues between the 3 bathrooms. May 2024: We just completed a kitchen renovation and wanted to share my wonderful experience with KBR Kitchen & Bath (Fairfax, VA). They did a great job and were quick (well, we didn't make many changes). I chose them over the other companies I talked with for a few reasons, including the fact that they were the only company to give me an itemized quote. Price was in line with three of the other four I interviewed (one was way over what everyone else quoted). No pushy sales tactics and friendly designer, project manager, and crew. Everyone was very professional. They had so many products to choose from at the Fairfax showroom. Their assistance with major appliances was great as well. We are now 10 months after the projected completion date and KBR has, 1) flooded my basement, 2) left my front door open to the elements and passersby many times, 3) left my yard gate open so my dog ran away, 4) left food waste all over my porch, 5) left razor blades and tire-ripping screws all over my driveway and garage floor, 5) left tools all over my house, 6) ordered the wrong cabinets THREE times, 7) installed under-counter lights incorrectly twice, 8) borrowed our tools without asking, and 9) continually gaslighted me about my concerns. If all this were not enough, the so-called project manager called me in an altered state at 10 pm on a Sunday. This company does not manage its projects, does not take any kind of care of your home, does not return emails or phone calls, and takes no pride in its finished product. Am I happy with my kitchen? Generally yes. Do I recommend KBR? No. With all the headaches of lack of communication and the other issues listed below, I would not recommend KBR. I'd give it 2.5 stars for the final product and our designer. TL;DR Cost We found KBR Kitchen and Bath through a few online reviews. We did the complimentary in-home estimate with Marve who was wonderful to work with throughout the design process. We were doing a kitchen renovation which required all new cabinetry, removing two walls, new island and coffee bar, and all new flooring throughout our main floor. She provided an initial design and estimate, and after a few tweaks, we got a new design and estimate of roughly $55K. We met Marve at the Fairfax showroom to pick out our cabinets, flooring, countertop and backsplash. We made some upgrades and that added $3K to our estimate. The next step was having Marve and the Project Manager come to our house for the final walkthrough/measurements. During this walkthrough additional outlet/switch cancellations were identified resulting in an additional $1500 to the total. During the renovation, some issues were were identified, such as needing to fix a support in the ceiling beam. These unexpected items resulted in a $3720 change order. In total, it was $8,000 more than our initial estimate. This also doesn't take into account the various additional items we had to purchase: garbage disposal, appliances, light fixtures, floating shelves, etc. Contractors The days the crew did work, they arrived promptly (if not earlier) at 8am. We gave them a code to the house, and they would typically leave between 4 and 5pm. KBR's website claims no subcontractors. This is not true. The main crew we had was Landmark Construction based in Maryland. That's who I had to write the change order check to. And the flooring company is MB Flooring. Overall, the crew is doing quality work. There were issues called out (we are still waiting to have them fixed). We did have issues with how they left our home each day. There were instances of leaving the ceiling door to the attic open, lights on after leaving, and door in our garage open. The worse one was we get home to the tub plugged up with the water running and nearly overflowing. Project Manager We had a terrible experience with our designated project manager, David. The only time he was proactively communicative to us was when it related to money (e.g., required change orders, picking up the check). With a 6 month old, we had to leave the house each day they were working and asked David to notify us when the crew would not be working. On at least 3 occasions it was not communicated. We would also bring things to David's attention to be proactive for items that should be addressed before the next step happens (e.g., a poorly cut tile piece that should be fixed before grout goes in, a light fixture that needs to be re-centered, a dent in the wall caused by the crew that should be fixed prior to paint). After talking to the crew, they told us David never communicated those updates to them. After us complaining, David's boss was sent over to our house the same day, but little improved. Schedule The project started on January 4th. We were very happy with the progress they made in the first week, and even the second week. At the rate it was going, we had no doubt they were going to be finished way before 6 weeks. However, after that 2nd week, each passing day we lost more and more faith in KBR. The project had an estimated completion date of February 15th. It is currently February 20th and the project is not complete. Over the course of the 6+ weeks, the crew has worked a total of 12 days out of 33 business days (36%). Some of the reasons why KBR did not work: 1) a wrong cabinet for our island was sent, so a new one had to get order. No work at the house could apparently be done until that and the countertops got delivered. 2) After the kitchen cabinets get installed, they said someone to do final measurements for the countertops. It takes 7-10 days for the countertops to get delivered, so the crew did not work a whole week because of this. 3) Right now, the crew is waiting on pieces for our island to come in before they finish all of the other touch-ups and fixes we have been telling the project managers about. It was told to us that prior to the project start that all materials are ordered and in-hand, which is another claim made by KBR that isn't true.   So we have been living in a kitchen and dining room that is 90% complete for at least 2 weeks. KBR will not come out until that island piece is in, so we can't set up our dining room, because the light fixture in there needs to be fixed. This wouldn't have been an issue had the project manager effectively communicated to the crew what needed to be done. read more

Excellent kitchen and master bathroom remodeling done by KBR Fairfax. My 2 projects started end of June and completed mid August. I waited to post this review after fully using the kitchen and bathroom for 2 months, and everything has held up great (no issues). Pricing: KBR gave us the best pricing for the quality of work done. We got estimates from Beautiful Home Services and Dream Design Construction, both of which priced similar remodels thousands of $$ higher. Our kitchen and master bathroom remodel total was around $53K for our single family home. Design: Our Designer Burak, Project Manager Hussein, and Assist PM Omar were very nice and professional. Throughout the whole project, we enjoyed working with them, and they were flexible in accommodating our requests. The KBR Manager was clear about the additional cost over runs. Quality: Our estimated project completion was 4 weeks but as with any renovation, we ran into electrical and plumbing issues (from original house) that needed to be corrected. Our actual completion time was 7.5 weeks, but KBR's team of technicians did a VERY thorough job installing new dedicated electrical lines and plumbing. You'd rather have everything done right (licensed and permits) rather than fast. Fairfax County inspectors approved all the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work. Details: Every day the technicians would prep the work areas to protect the surrounding rooms and cleanup equipment to help keep my children and family safe. The workers arrive early and leave on time daily, and some Saturday's they asked to work to help keep on schedule. KBR sends a truck to pickup the trash and debris every week from our driveway which avoided any issues with our HOA. Tips: if you can, you should dedicate 1 indoor garage space for their team to store equipment and materials. This speeds up daily setup and clean up. Order kitchen appliances from Costco (2 year manuf. warranty + buy Square Trade Extended warranty for 3 years $99-$120). First, let me say that the workmanship and professionalism displayed by KBR's technicians was excellent. We are mostly satisfied with the product, save for a few damaged cabinets described below. The issue I have with KBR resides with the "designer", who is more like the salesperson, the lack of communication between him, his manager, the technicians, and the subcontractors, and the resistance in getting any changes in writing. The first problem started when the cabinets were installed - they were five inches too short in relation to the soffit. While I understand that the edge of the soffit and the cabinets traditionally do not line up, five inches is too noticeable. When I reviewed the blueprints that were drawn up by the designer and given to the technicians, I noted that someone crossed out the initial 136 9/16" measurement of the soffit and replaced it with 133". This was not reflected in the same blueprints that were attached to the contract that we signed. When I asked the designer about this (over the phone while I was at work), he said that these changes normally happen as they would could not anticipate variations to the kitchen structure after demolition. This is a ridiculous statement - the soffit is fixed, was not part of the demo, and therefore should have been measured correctly in the first place. Worse, he proposed that we install a gap filler between the cabinets to extend the length, and that he needed me to approve over the phone. Not a written change order form with exact design specifications of the gap filler, just a "we just need your approval to install a gap filler". I declined and requested that we discuss in person the design specifications of the gap filler. The next day, all the designer would show us were pictures of other gap fillers that they did in other projects. I said we wanted the gap filler to be flush with the cabinets; he repeatedly said, "it will look perfect". It seemed like the designer would not do a change order form, so we requested to have the technicians show us the gap filler before installing it. The next day, the technicians showed up with the gap filler and how it would look installed. Unsurprisingly, it would not be flush with the cabinets. The technicians said that their instructions from the designer was "to make it as flush as possible." I'm not a kitchen designer or in construction, but I am certain these are not terms usually used in the art. Further, "it will look perfect" is not the same as "make it as flush as possible." We canceled this option and, in the end, decided to go with shaving a few inches off the soffit. The designer agreed to compensate us $200 for this as we would be losing some countertop space. However, that weekend, when I talked to the manager about getting the $200 credit reflected in a change order form, he said had no idea what I was talking about. Example of lack of communication. In the end, I had to repeatedly email the designer to get him to confirm the $200 credit. I do not know why I was facing this much resistance from KBR in getting anything (change orders or credits) in writing. The second problem started when the subcontractor came to install the sink. They looked at it and said they couldn't install it because KBR did not cut open the top of the cabinet to put the sink in. No one could figure out whose responsibility it was to cut the cabinet. In the end, the designer had to tell the subcontractor over the phone where to cut the cabinet to put in the sink. Again, lack of communication. The third problem started when KBR called to schedule the final walk through. I was beside myself - how could they think the work was done when there were no handles on the cabinets! The technician who was there finishing up his work on another matter told me that he was never instructed or informed about any cabinet handles. So, again lack of communication. The fourth problem started at the final walk through. We noted several holes in the interior of the cabinets. It appeared that they were holes where the screws connecting adjacent cabinets were incorrectly drilled. Since the holes were not covered or plugged up, they were flaking wood chips onto the stored dinner ware. Additionally, the face of the one of the cabinets was damaged - either during shipping or installation. KBR tried to touch up the scratches but made it worse as the touch paint did not even remotely match the cabinets. At the walk through, the designer said that they would order a replacement face and "stickers" to cover the screw holes, but that the contract was "substantially performed" and should be closed out. I agreed, but at this point, I did not believe that they would ever follow up on these final matters. The walk through was in mid-June. On August 15, I send an email asking what the status was for the replacement face and the "stickers." It is now September, and I have never received a response, and I don't think I ever will. read more

Had these guys do a small kitchen renovation. New cabinets, countertops, and create a new pantry. Overall, their communication and workmanship were very poor. The project was filled with delays. On one occasion it was delayed because the designer ordered the wrong size pantry door per the Project Manager (PM). I had to have a meeting with the PM and then the Co-Owner because the construction team thought it was appropriate to "dispose" of construction debris by leaving it in my condo breezeway overnight. This isn't proper disposal, it's called illegal dumping. Kitchen cabinets installed with damage to the shelves, damaged double pantry door installed that didn't close or open properly, had a leak under the sink less than a week after they installed a new garbage disposal. And about that garbage disposal, they broke the outer sound-proof cover and thought it was acceptable to "fix" it by wrapping black electrical tape around it. The craziest thing happened when I met with the co-owner, Ihsan, to address my concerns and do a project walkthrough. He insisted I bought the Forevermark Cabinets and had paperwork indicating as such. Forevermark is their entry-level cabinetry that Ishan said was an okay product but their assembly is not good. First, we upgraded to the Kraftmaid cabinetry that has a lifetime warranty. Secondly, I was shocked he didn't even know what we purchased from him and third, it was pretty unbelievable that he gave such a poor review of the Forevermark Cabinets.....a product that he sells! By no means are these all the issues I encountered with these guys, but it gives a good indication of what they're about. Overall, they get two stars. Despite a questionable and convoluted installation process, the final product does look good and the co-owner did credit us some money, but it was an absolute headache getting them to do their job. My advice to management: 1. Retrain or terminate the people that worked on this project. They didn't seem to know what they were doing. 2. Don't rely on the customer to ensure quality assurance. Have the Project Manager on-site and evaluate the overall workmanship of the team before passing along to the customer. 3. Do a better job of communicating to the customer. I asked numerous times that you give me 1 business day notice, so we can kennel our dogs. For some reason, this request was infrequently met. 4. It's not always about money. Taking money off the final bill doesn't equate to being happy with a mediocre job. I would have preferred to give you the full amount after the job is professionally complete. read more

This was our first experience with a design/build firm. If I could have given them a 4.5 rating, I would have. The lack of a 5 rating is only because we had issues (you always do) and were not 100% satisfied with some of the solutions/results. That said, we strongly recommend this company and we plan to use them again in the future. For our kitchen project, we spent hours narrowing down the choices to 5 highly rated companies. We selected KBR because they presented the best plan and proposal. People underestimate the proposal aspect -- they tend to focus on the plan. A well written proposal is critical, because there are going to be issues and everything revolves around the proposal. The job was done on schedule (to the day) and we did not exceed our budget beyond the safety buffer we had decided on. We recommend Silviya as a designer. She has a balanced approach to her job -- not pushy, but stepping in when she spots a problem. Her selection of a very unusual backsplash for the induction range area -- which I thought was a major mistake -- is the main focal point for the new kitchen. read more

I've had 3 "emergencies" happened to driver or technician so they had to keep rescheduling. There was a mixed up with materials and that caused no work being done for two weeks. Project manager said he was going to stop by but he stood us up a few times. Got a new project manager but there was still another "emergency" with the technician. We felt like we were being stringed along. Result was ok, they definitely cut some corners towards the end and rushed the work. We had KBR do our kitchen remodel, which included installing new cabinets, countertops, minor plumbing and electrical work, floor patching, and construction of a half-wall. They did an excellent job, and for thousands of dollars less than many of their competitors in the Washington, DC area! Silviya is a great kitchen designer and helped us pick out options that kept everything within our budget. Once we signed a contract with them, it took about 4 weeks for them to get the cabinets in and start construction on our kitchen. We were told it was going to take 3-4 weeks to complete the work, but they managed to do it in only 2! The work they did looks great (especially the backsplash) and I'm sure it'll last for years to come. My only minor complaint is that we had to keep an eye on the work the workers were doing... some incorrect assumptions were made and details missed. However, I just brought up any issues with the manager and the work was corrected (usually that next day) without any issues. Overall, for the price, you really can't go wrong with KBR! read more

Updating my review on 7/13/21. The manager reached out to me shortly after I posted the original review and came to meet me in person the same afternoon to discuss. I am impressed that they owned up to the mistakes and lack of communication. Today they got the technician back out to my kitchen to wrap up, and we did the final walk-through this afternoon. I am pleased with the additional steps they took to rectify the situation, including talking to the technician about the I appropriateness of entering a client's closet without prior permission and issuing a separate apology for that. I moved my review from two stars to four stars based on the quality of the final product and the sincerity in which they worked to make the situation right. I am also editing my original review below to reflect what I subsequently learned. (Edited) Review from 7/12/21: I had a very tiny and simple kitchen remodel - just a handful of cabinets, countertops, and painting the ceiling. The good: My kitchen looks great and I'm pleased with the final product. They also popped by a week early to turn off the gas so a different company could do the demolition - I appreciated their flexibility on that work. They were also flexible with me to get in there and paint before the appliances were moved back, which I also appreciate. The teachable moments: There were multiple delays in getting product in. While this was not their fault, there was a break down in informing me that this contributed to the project taking twice as long. One of my recommendations to the company is a better commitment to communicating with the client. I was getting very frustrated that no one had worked on the kitchen for ten days straight without sharing the fact that they were waiting on some deliveries. It was like pulling teeth to get someone to respond to me. Sharing this information proactively would have reduced a lot of angst. They had to reorder different cabinets on two separate occasions because they took incorrect measurements. They did take a little bit of money off for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. There was also an incident where one of the technicians went into my closet. While they were only looking for paper towels, I'm a single woman who lives alone. The condo is completely empty and this closet is clearly a personal area, so it was pure luck that I put paper towels in there the night before. These folks are top-notch. I had my small townhouse kitchen remodeled in the summer of 2013. I was looking to add more cabinets and storage space without taking away too much room to move around. The designers I met with worked with me to create the perfect set up. I even called back with updates a couple times and was always shown patience and respect. When the time came to complete the redesign, I was informed that the process could take 2-3 weeks and due to ordering and awaiting various components of the kitchen, there might be days that no one was working, as they might be waiting for flooring components to harden or glues to dry. Since it was summer, I was able to send my children off to visit their grandparents so managing dinners with no kitchen was easier on us all. Also, there is a significant amount of dust from projects like these, so was happy to get them in a cleaner environment. The company did set up plastic enclosures to keep the majority of the dust in the kitchen itself, so I'm not saying they didn't do their best on that front. To my surprise, my kitchen was not completed in 3 weeks, it was 1/2 a week early! I was thrilled to start using my dream kitchen. Sadly, just recently, my hand-held faucet started to leak. I was pretty sure there was no way the KBR would give me a new one since remodel was well over a year ago. However, I did reach out to see if I could get the manufacturer's name to see if there were replacement parts or a warranty that would cover the seal. To my surprise, KBR sent a technician out to the house, who--free of charge--replaced my faucet. He also noticed some water damage to the cabinet and is having that replaced as well--again, free of charge. If the pricing and design doesn't sell you on KBR, let the customer service. I got the kitchen of my dreams because of KBR. When we moved into our little Cape Cod, the kitchen was woefully outdated. We wanted to do a kitchen remodel immediately. We were surprised to learn that finding someone to remodel a kitchen is easier said than done. We went to some other big name remodeling stores and we were treated very poorly. One place told us it would take 6 months to do our tiny kitchen. One place told us she didn't take assignments less than $50K and our remodel wasn't worth her time. One place flat out refused us since our kitchen is so small. I was feeling very defeated when I walked into KBR and met Belle. I told her what I wanted and she said "no problem." I was in disbelief, but then the project manager and Belle came to our house and measured and they said "yes" and "no problem." The remodel would take 3 weeks! That's better than 6 months. Belle helped me pick out the cabinets, tile, counters. It was all so easy. Belle and Hussein have a "can-do" attitude. They're friendly, professional, and talented. The remodel was a reasonable price. The people who actually did the remodeling were great. They worked hard and long hours. There are some time gaps in a kitchen remodel (a day to tear out; a day to mud; a day for cabinets; a day for counters) and there isn't work going on every single day because things need to be ordered etc., but I always felt my remodel was a priority. While we anticipated they would add on charges to our initial estimate, the following were a little unexpected and gave us the impression that we were being nickle and dimed: a) taxes (~$300) b) permits (~$1,000) c) KBR installed some outlets, we failed inspection because they weren't GFCI. We got charged to re-install new outlets. 3. Some no-shows. When they promised to come out to fix something the next day (e.g. sink tilt out, laminate flooring), sometimes they didn't show. 4. Although minor, we were looking forward to having a sink tilt out for our kitchen. But they couldn't properly install it and actually broke a piece of the cabinet during their attempt. May 2015 update: This past winter was especially cold so I was told by a friend I should shut off the water to the outside faucets so my pipes don't freeze and burst. Guess what I finally noticed? KBR attached the water line to my fridge from the same line that feeds my outside faucet! So if I shutoff my water to the outside I can't get water from my fridge. Thanks KBR! read more

We hired KBR to remodel our kitchen, and it was a great experience from initial consult and design (Chagla was fantastic to work with), to site visit and demo, to install and close-out. The team was responsive and professional. The Project Manager (David) was quick to respond via text and coordinated the crews nicely. Did a great job very quickly and at a fair price. We're very happy with their work. We needed a new kitchen - new cabinet, countertops, floor, and a small redesign. We didn't have any walls moved, but we did have a faux wall near the ceiling torn out to get more cabinet space. They said they'd be done in two weeks and said they'd have the work done in two weeks (once the cabinets came in). I laughed heartily at their time estimate because in my experience contractors take two or three times the time they estimate. Once they started they must have realized they'd slightly under-estimated the time it would take. Rather than blow past their 2-week estimate they worked weekends to get it done. So they worked 14 days straight without a day off to finish exactly when they said they would. Now, our kitchen didn't take much redesign, so I can't speak to how good they'd be at a designer kitchen. But I know for our purposes they did an excellent job that visitors to our home envy. Work done was Bathroom remodeling: New floor, vanity, sink, faucet, glass shower doors, tile floor in shower and on shower walls. We were very pleased with the work, materials, and the bathroom looks great. Really classy with the glass doors on the shower in particular. The workers were there to work on time and punctual. They put down drop cloth to protect my carpet. Burak and the manager communicated with us throughout the whole project from start to finish and the workers also made sure everything was to our specifications. read more

I Really don't know where to begin. It took this company many attempts to install our countertops, like SIX attempts and they are still not right. They cut an inch off of our peninsula piece because it chipped when they cut it. Delivered and installed knowing that it was not correct and never said a word until I called them on it. That is just an example of the way they conduct business. The only thing worse than their workmanship is their customer service. I have been a contractor for decades and have never dealt with this much incompetence with anything let alone a simple countertop install. Stay as far away from KBR as u can. read more

Was looking to remodel our master bath and kitchen. Walked in but no one was in the front, but when we walked towards the back we saw two people on their computers. We smiled at them but not even a wave or greeting. We looked and waited but no one approached us. Sad to see that this is how business is run here. My wife and I chose KBR Kitchen and Bath to completely remodel our guest bathroom. We were looking to do this job on a budget but still obtain quality work. From the outset, KBR was very professional and scheduled Silviya to come to our home to do an estimate. She took measurements and sketches and asked what we had in mind for the design. In a couple of days she got back to us with an estimated cost and even some neat renderings of the bathroom. (This was all free of charge). The cost was significantly lower than other companies we had contacted so we decided to take the next step and visit the KBR showroom. Silviya worked with us to pick our tile, granite, vanity, and other features. She was extremely helpful and professional and provided sound recommendations. They would even install a vessel sink that my wife and I really liked, even though it was outside of KBR's typical work package. The work was scheduled to take two weeks and Olvin would be our project manager. I should also point out that KBR employs their own workers and does not subcontract work or pull daily workers. A major selling point in my opinion. Olvin was fantastic throughout the project. He was also very professional and his work was of excellent quality. Silviya checked in with us as the project progressed and was very accessible for questions, clarifications, or recommendations. Olvin actually finished well ahead of schedule but we had to wait just a couple of extra days for the granite to arrive. This was not a problem at all since we weren't really in a rush to complete the job. In the end, my wife and I are extremely happy with the end result and how our bathroom turned out. It's a huge upgrade over what we had before and an excellent value for the cost. We highly recommend KBR, Silviya, and Olvin, and we will most likely going back to them for other bathroom projects in our house in the future! Thank you! read more

KBR did our bathrooms remodel and did a terrible job: tile work is horrific, not a single tile is smooth. On top of it, the project manager didn't even admit that they did a bad job. Tile work looks like as if an amateur did it. I would no recommend KBR to anyone. read more

I used KBR to remodel a smallish, hall bathroom. They did a great job and in some instances went way beyond expectations. I wanted to install a larger bathtub which required some creative plumbing solutions -- this was accomplished professionally and quickly. I love the updated bathroom. I would give five stars (and more), but there was a slight problem with communication -- I never knew when they would show up and in one case they didn't show up at all. But I think they thought that as long as there was a key box they didn't need to keep me informed. Once I expressed my frustration this didn't occur again. I would use them again without hesitation! HORRIBLE WORKMSNSHIP AND SERVICE! Corners were cut during every step of the kitchen remodel project... the manager blamed us as the customers for their truck caving in our driveway (a $2500 to fix); we were told our bathroom fan was vented out of the roof only to discover the contractor lied and never vented the fan; the lights were dropped on our hardwood floors during installation and the manager once again blamed us as the customer and refused to replace them, electrical work was shabby (extra switches because they couldn't figure out how to do the work)... long story short, I would give this company a 0 if I could...STAY AWAY read more

After interviewing 3 contractors and 4 kitchen remodeling companies it became very evident that KBR was the right choice. Our designer Silviya came up with the most unique design for our space. She listened to all of our needs and incorporated them into the design. She was the most thorough and timely with the estimate as well. Our project manager Huseyin did a great job with communicating any issues that arose during the project. He answered all of our questions and explained the entire process to us in great detail. Our team of technicians did outstanding work. A large wall was removed and a beam installed. The installation of the appliances and cabinets to the tiling of the backsplash were seamless. They arrived on time and left the house very clean during a major construction process. We are extremely pleased with the end product and look forward to working with them in the future. read more

After some 30 years, our kitchen Formica countertops were in need of replacement so we turned to Angie's List for recommendations of good suppliers in our Northern VA area. KBR was one of two firms we contacted and found their Mr. Hakan Ureten (Kitchen & Bath Designer) to be the most helpful in steering us through the process of selecting a good granite material for our countertops and at the most affordable price. We simply walked into KBR without an appointment and met with Hakan. He had on display one foot square samples of granite and a range of various color cabinets on which we could place each selected sample to match with our existing cabinets. Once we selected a few good matches, he arranged for us to go to the stone warehouse to see the full sized granite slab to finalize our selection and reserve the exact slab for our job. We learned that viewing the full sized slab was the most important step in this whole process and insured we would obtain the desired effect we were looking for in our new kitchen countertops. Within one day of selecting the slab and concluding a very favorably priced contract, the KBR Mongolian stone artisans arrived to take the final measurements of our kitchen using not only a trusty tape measure but also an electronic device that actually mapped our existing countertops. Two days later, the uniquely skilled crew returned with the perfectly cut pieces to replace our countertops and overcame some long standing problems we had experienced with our old countertops. Included in this package was a new double sink. That installation also proved challenging because over the years other plumbers had made a mess of the underlying drainage piping and garbage disposal installation. KBR's technician had to re-plumb the whole sink system, including the reinstallation of the garbage disposal, which for the first time now runs silently. Conclusion: KRB Kitchen & Bath performed outstandingly in meeting our needs to upgrade our kitchen countertops in a timely and very cost effective manner. We used KBR Kitchen and Bath for our kitchen remodel which entailed gutting the space and replacing everything but the floor. We also ordered our cabinets through KBR, and Erhan did an excellent job designing our layout. In fact, everyone on the team was professional, pleasant to have around, and attentive. They made great suggestions, came through on all that they said they would do, and cleaned up impeccably at the end of each day and at the end of the job. They finished in 8 weeks (the estimate was for 8) and on budget; no surprises. All the work was first rate, with much attention paid to detail. I am delighted with my new kitchen (unfortunately it hasn't made me a better cook!) and highly recommend KBR. They were truly a delight to work with and made what we expected to be an ordeal an adventure. When I'm ready to remodel my bathroom, I will definitely call on them. read more
