I preface this by saying there are some great people working here. But they are far outweighed by…read morethe bad and by what appears to be awful management and carelessness when it comes to attending to resident needs. My relative has recently passed away during an extended stay at this facility, and I am glad that he no longer has to endure staying here. Many of the nurses are lackadaisical in their duties, and frequently do not pass information to the next nurses coming on for their shifts meaning that residents such as my relative frequently received the WRONG medication or missed doses of medications he needed. When these concerns were pointed out, nurses would lie, pass blame to other people for making decisions during meetings which they could not recall the details of, or flat out lie. Then, when my family members left for the evening, or when I visited without my parents and they weren't clear of my familial relation, they would talk about my parents behind their backs, IN FRONT OF ME, complaining about them and blaming THEM for the wrong decisions and moved the staff themselves made. Once they knew who I was, I got the same fake treatment my parents did. This culminated in experiences that put my relative through physical trauma and made his last days incredibly disrespectful and distressing. For days, they were left to sit in their own filth and in pain, as the staff would frequently forget to change his dressings or even try to lift him to where he needed to be in his room. And on the occasions where they tried and failed to move him, they blamed HIM, the patient. As if that weren't bad enough, nurses administered UNNECESSARY, extra doses of medication HE DID NOT ASK FOR, that were not approved by the family (who had medical power of attorney) which left him in a delirious state up to the end. Even the simple requests, such as asking for new sheets, tissues, or water cups were met by sarcastic remarks, condescending attitudes, and general standoffishness by a (mostly) unprofessional staff who seemed genuinely annoyed they were being asked to do the bare minimum to keep a resident comfortable. Again, there are a few good people working here and I am forever grateful for them and what they did to help. But nothing sums up our experience more than watching these few good people turn and RIP INTO THE STAFF for the condition of the patient because the people working under them are lazy, uncaring, indifferent, or all three combined. If you care AT ALL about the well-being of your loved ones, DO NOT send them to Hackett Hill.

Thanks to the great therapy and nursing care he left 1 month later able to do for himself and walk with a walker. You are a great bunch of people and deserve to be praised for all you do. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs therapy. The staff is amazing and always have a smile and always jokes with them. Occupational therapy was so much fun. Richard baked cookies with a group of people and he told the therapist that he didn't need to bake cookies because he'll just buy them. LOL !! The nursing staff was so pleasant to him and myself. My Mom is so happy, saying every-time the staff enter her room it's with a smile and "how are you?" She needed the sticky socks, a towel and some ice and each time I requested an item, it took less than 5 minutes to get it. There will always be some bad reviews with every business. That's part of business. But this is our experience, and we cannot say enough about every aspect. Just remembered a shocking moment...she threw something in her trash and it made a somewhat loud clang. Someone came right in Making sure she was ok You just don't get that attention everywhere.

She's young but her body is a prison because of multiple sclerosis. Even with 40 hours of at-home nursing care a week, we couldn't do it anymore. She has no strength at all, and we had to do everything for her, everything. It was time. She was distressed, in grief, heartbroken. And it was hard. But the people here made her feel pretty good. She saw that it wasn't a prison. She had the freedom to go where she wanted in her electric wheelchair. She spent her first night in the family room watching her favorite Red Sox on a big screen! Everyone was so nice here. Just stellar. They understood. It will take some time, but I think she'll be happy. This really is a great place. It's clean and large and there is so much to do! My significant other went to hanover hills rehab in Manchester NH, he was there for about 3 weeks…read more The medical issue that put him there did clear up, BUT when he came home there was a HUGE hole in his other foot and up his leg. I was told he had a couple blisters which caused this problem. He was unable to walk, I was told he was mobile and could go home. When the hospice nurse came to the house, and my first time seeing his foot I cried, even the nurse had NEVER seen anything like his foot and leg, we also found fingernail imprints behind his thigh, this was not from him. I don't know what ABUSE went on in this rehab, but, I certainly am going to try to find out. Please do NOT take anyone you love or care about to this HORRIBLE PLACE. Susan O.

I was admitted into Cornerstone's care two months after a 6 time roll over crash. Kicked out of a…read morehospital in Georgia with no choice but to move back to NH with the hope that someone could help me. Jessica came out with kindness, and hope in her soul. My husband and I fell in love with her "anything is possible, as long as you are willing to work for it" attitude. I began treatment with almost no movement in any part of my body due to the severity of my spinal cord injury. Ashley (PT) came in the room and lit it up. Not only was every single session fun, she made me want to work to impress her, simply because she believed in me, I wanted to show her that belief wasn't for nothing. Jessica (OT) came in willing to help with anything to make my transition easier, whether that be holding my daughter so I could sit up, or telling me it was okay if I hadn't reached a goal. I was switched to Deanna (OT) and Ruthann (PT) after about a month. These lovely ladies wiggled their way not only into my heart, but our family. Deanna immediately came in, with a smile not only on her face, but in her heart. Even if I couldn't do something, she would remind me of all the things that I had already accomplished, and helped me remember that everyone put the odds against me, and I was lucky to even be alive. Every single Tuesday and Thursday, there was excitement all over the house. My mom was excited to see her daughter proud of herself for being able to complete a new goal. My husband was excited to see his wife becoming herself again. My dad was excited to see his little girl move a new extremity. My daughter was excited to see the people that always acknowledged her and made her feel included. Most of all, me, excited to have these lovely women teach me how to find strength in such a horrible situation. Ruthann's place was taken back over by Ashley, but I will always cherish the time, and patience she had. Her honesty, and respect for me will not soon be forgotten. I'm so thankful she felt I was worthy enough to spend her time on. That's the thing about Cornerstone VNA PT and OT, they make you forget that they are there to do a job. They make you feel like not a thing is more important than every single session. They become family, and help you feel normal in such an abnormal state. I will hold these women in my heart forever, not just because of the incredible progress they helped me achieve, but because in my time of wanting to give up, they were there at any hour to tell me how impressed they were that a quadriplegic could become someone with paraparesis. I started not being able to move my fingers, arms, legs, and toes. I fully believe that without these incredible ladies, I may have never recovered. Jessica, Ashley, Deanna, and Ruthann, thank you for being not only my saviors, but my heroes.
