The more advanced one goes to Memory care during the day. The staff has been very caring, friendly and has gone above and beyond. They have not had any falls or injuries. We love family nights, and they've been so accommodating when we've had anniversary and birthday celebration there. My mother in law thinks she's on a great vacation, and my father in law, who is very critical of everything, has not found anything to complain about. That speaks volumes. We feel so blessed to have our family members there.

My Mom originally moved into their Retirement Living and regained 5 years of her life. She enjoyed…read moresocializing, the meals, the hairdresser, getting her nails done, the complimentary housekeeping and laundry, and the very nice people. We were blessed that she was able to stay with the same people by having a stay in their Rehab Center after a fall, moving into their Assisted Living, and, eventually, accessing their End of Life program. They did her nails the night she passed. Wonderful people!

I have POA and told them to send her to the emergency room and good thing I did, her blood pressure was around 70 and dehydrated . They made her better but I had to let her go back to that place. Now today I got a call from SS office saying Pleasant View wants to take over her social security and They were sneaking behind my back to get control of her SS check. Which I will not allow them to , if I have to go to court. Don't trust them . So I'm going to see if I can find a place to put her a better care unit. They didn't take her vital signs to see what her blood pressure were . Even when I was there they did take my vital signs and I have high blood pressure. I hope to find another place to put her closer to me.

My mother needs to go to a place where she can get transportation, as there is none here, and they said they will hold her to her lease, she will need to continue to pay for 8 more months if she leaves. Do yourself a favor, don't live here unless you are on the younger side and are able to come and go as you please and have no need for evening meals, transportation or activities, because you won't get any of those here. Very disappointed in White Rock Senior Living.

If I could rate this less than one star, I would…read more My 64 year old mother went here briefly for about 3 weeks after having had a pacemaker with a defibrillator installed into her heart. She's a severe cardiac patient on many medications. Upon arrival, this past July 18' - she was admitted into a room in the middle of a hot summer day and there was NO AIR CONDITIONING. She has congestive heart failure. Being in a hot room can make it hard for her to breathe. That was the first issue. Second, she has four diet restrictions - low saturated fats (her heart failure + cardiovascular disease) low sodium (heart failure) low to no potassium (kidney disease) and low carb (diabetes) -- any nursing home or skilled nursing facility should be able to meet any type of dietary restrictions of a patient. There should be no question there. They offered her hot dogs, egg salad, Cheetos and canned peaches in syrup one night as dinner options. There was nothing on an entire schedule of daily meals that she could have. She ended up sticking to literally salads and grilled chicken breast for lunches and dinners and for breakfasts, I had to provide her choices. I had to bring in egg whites, yogurts and fresh foods for her to have because they couldn't provide anything but iceberg lettuce and grilled chicken. The staff - some were friendly, some were not friendly and most were unknowledgeable. They often had to ask me how to dress and change a foot wound she had when her release paperwork from the hospital gave the orders. I didn't like that if I wanted to call and check on her, I barley got anyone that spoke English and ONE TIME THEY LIED TO ME. I called (full knowing my mother was awake and due her pain medicine and heart medicine) because I had just spoken to my mom on the phone. It was about 1am. I called and asked how my mom was doing and they blatantly lied and said "She's doing great! She's asleep now." I said, "That's funny, because I just hung up the phone with her and she hasn't slept a wink yet and has told her nurse that she's in a lot of pain and been due for pain medicine." I had to jump down the throats of so many people to make sure my mom had some decent level of care. Now, I'm not an A-hole. I'm a laid back, easy going person but if you cannot do your job and provide a certain level of care to patients that NEED it, this place should be shut down and those people need new jobs. One employee argued with me when she tried telling me how something was done for my mother and I told her, it should be done this way because it was possible to do and that's what she was used to and she raised her voice to me, talked DOWN to me and I fixed that real quick and let her know that she is never to talk to me like that ever again to which she promptly apologized and realized that I'd literally take the matters into my own hands if need be and speak to a higher up -- which we did anyway, about our entire stay.....and it didn't change a damn thing. What really scared me is that twice, I had to stop a nurse from giving my mother units of insulin THAT WERE NOT DUE to her and a heart medicine that wasn't on my moms list. TURNS OUT, it was for ANOTHER patient with the SAME first name (but spelled differently) TWICE this happened and had I not been there to stop it, my mother would have taken medication for a different patient! So many days I'd be in and out of my mothers room and I'd see patients in their wheelchairs planted in front of the TV for hours on end in the same position - some with drool and others just asleep. These are people's parents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters! The way this facility handles their care is repulsive and there's NO WAY in HELL we would EVER return here. If you have a loved one, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. If you have any questions, please reach out to me! I spent sun up to sun down in the facility while my mother was here - so I saw a lot.
