I found myself the owner of a fixer upper. Every wall and door had large holes that went all the way through, drywall missing down to the corner beads, patches in the kitchen floor where the flooring was worn down to the subfloor, windows that did not close, kitchen cabinets had scrapes, holes, and did not close, fire damage to walls and ceilings. The house itself has a good structure with all major components having been replaced in the last year. I had several Contractor's bid on the project. I decided to go with Granite Mountain located at 14027 W Illinois Hwy, New Lenox, IL 60451. I dealt with Mark and Michelle, who are not only knowledgeable, but honest. They captured what I wanted, helped me pick my selections from their showroom, and kept me updated throughout the whole process. In Mark's words, there are many moving parts-that need to come together on time- and he made it happen, having staff here every day for the duration of the project. Each day I was impressed at the progress made, as well as the fact that I was able to live here, due to how clean his staff kept it. Mark timed everything perfectly. The whole house now has beautiful LVT flooring, all new oak woodwork throughout, 6 panel doors, trim, window casings, jams, fireplace mantel - all stained to the color I chose, beautiful granite and quartz countertops in kitchen and bathrooms, all smoke damage cleaned and painted, backsplash tile in the kitchen and beautiful kitchen soft close cabinets. Granite Mountain made what was a huge project, not only fun, but an incredible experience. I highly recommend using Granite Mountain for any home improvement project you have. read more

installed countertops about 4yrs ago in a brand new house built by curwick construction. the seam where they connect slabs are separating and one side slightly raising and also a chunk came out. called and was told it would be $450 to come out and look at it. when i questioned standing behind their work was told its their policy. find a better company if you can read more

They did our counter and backsplash about a year ago. They were great to deal with and communication was awesome. Kitchen looks great.

I called to inquire if they would be willing to replace my kitchen sink since it was attached to a granite counter. I had already been turned down by several other companies which refused to tackle the job. I talked to Craig who sent a person out to look at it the very same day. He said they could do it, quoted a price and when I agreed, it was immediatley scheduled for the end of the week. I was a bit concerned the granite could be damaged but Martin assured me that they have done this work before and it would not be a problem. Sure enough, it came out beautifully. They were also quick with responding to all my emails/calls. The process seemed flawless, and my counters look beautiful. After my counters were installed, I presented them with a complaint/issue, and they worked with me to resolve it immediately and to ensure my satisfaction. Beautiful Granite - Horrible Customer Service Our builder recommended Mark at Granite Mountain to do the granite in our new home. There was a rather unnatural mark on one piece of granite, that appeared stained, before we even closed on our house. Mark stated that no one could prove that he was the one to stain the piece, and it could have been anybody, so he refused to cover it. The builder was forced to eat the cost on this piece to get it replaced. Then, when the replacement piece finally came in, an employee stated that we should get it sealed right away. My wife asked what compound that he recommends, and he stated that because of all the trouble, he would happily come and seal it for us next week. Great! One less thing off a new owner's mind. But then a week goes by, then two weeks. My wife speaks to Mark and mentioned that she had referred a family member to him. He asks for details about the referral, and gives no firm answer about the sealing. I asked my builder who has a good relationship with Mark, and he stated that because he did not state that himself, he will not be doing any sealing, and that his guys shouldn't be talking to clients. Basically, I've gotten paid, so I want nothing more to do with you. The referral didn't go well either, with Mark actually stating "Well, because I don't want to do this part, I'm just going to charge a bunch more to install it. Very displeased with Granite Mountain, and will not be using them in the future. Gave two stars because the granite that was not messed up does look very nice. Just make sure it's perfect before you pay! Matthew UPDATE: Upon Mark hearing about the review, he used profanity and insulted my family. No professionalism at all. read more

After having my granite counters installed I noticed that even a drop of water left permanent stains due to my granite not probably sealed. A gentlemen came out and resealed it, but this did not change the stain situation. I have noticed spotting over a period of time and reported this to the Manager Mike. He came out and told me this is how granite is, My children all have granite and they do not have this spotting. I'm wondering if their granite is first grade. Mike also said when not busy he would send out men to buff the counters for me. Well, I guess they must be always busy, no one has returned my call or come out to buff the counters. I am sorry I got my counters from them and do not recommend them. Still waiting. read more

Not one piece came out to house made or cut right after being computer measured. Backsplash came out in broken pieces. Chuck said job would take 4 hours in reality took 12 hours in 2 days. horrible job all the way around. Art.P read more
