I have read some negative things about this place and I thought I would add my thoughts. The office is very nice. Everyone made me feel very taken care of. I was there for a colonoscopy, so I wasn't excited - but honestly - everything was great. I had Mark Jensen as my doctor and he was fabulous. All my questions were answered and the office staff made me feel very welcome. Darren was my anesthesiologist - he was also great! Based on my experience, I would totally recommend this place! I was charged $200 for the GI to tell me to take an over the counter drug daily. He said he couldn't help me with anything else until I did that. After trying and having terrible side effects, I had a blood panel done and learned that my issues were the result of a thyroid problem and leaky gut, things that were never talked about in my appointment. The hormone specialist was shocked after being told of the advice I received here. Very disappointing. read more

I feel compelled to share my deeply troubling experience with this medical facility, in the hope that it helps others avoid the stress, confusion, and financial exploitation I've endured. From the outset, everything appeared routine. I provided my insurance information and was assured that prior authorization for my endoscopy had been received. On the day of the procedure, I paid the required copay and was told there would be no surprises. Unfortunately, everything that followed has been a case study in poor communication, lack of medical transparency, and predatory billing practices. Two weeks after the procedure, I received a call--not from the doctor, but from his assistant, who is not a medical professional. She delivered a diagnosis over the phone, offered no explanation of what it meant, and vaguely mentioned that a medication had been prescribed and that I would need to return for a repeat procedure. When I asked basic questions--Why this medication? Why another procedure?--she had no answers. I requested to speak with the doctor directly and was told he would only speak with me after I underwent anesthesia again for the next procedure. This is not follow-up care. This is gatekeeping under the guise of treatment. To make matters worse, I received three separate bills shortly afterward, all lacking any itemized details. Two appeared to be duplicates. I contacted the office multiple times asking for clarification, and not once did I receive a coherent or professional explanation. Eventually, these mysterious charges--despite my having already paid a copayment and insurance paying over $2,000--were sent to collections. I am now being sued by Kirk Cullimore's office, a debt collection law firm, for additional unexplained charges. Let me be clear: this was a simple outpatient endoscopy. What followed was not only medically irresponsible, but financially abusive. I paid for services and received confusion, misinformation, and legal threats in return. This facility operates more like a billing trap than a healthcare provider. The lack of transparency, the refusal to allow patient-doctor communication, and the aggressive, unexplained financial practices are inexcusable. This is not just bad business--it borders on a scam. I urge anyone considering care here to think twice. You deserve better. We all do. read more

Immediately recommended getting an endoscopy after a 10 minute visit. Of course, they have a dedicated endoscopy center in Draper. Billed my insurance $7000 for it, which is of course passed right on to me. They never mentioned pricing to me at any point, I only received notice from my insurance about it. I find this outrageous that they wouldn't try any lesser diagnostics first, based on the symptoms I provided. I highly DO NOT recommend. read more

Went here a few weeks ago for endoscopy and colonoscopy. The surgeon was fine. The intake nurse was great. The MA? Eew. She is so rude on the phone and is so condescending. She doesn't listen to what I'm asking and when I repeat myself she makes it seems as if I am asking a dumb question and proceeds to give me a 'sassy' reply. I've spoken to her twice and I just got off the phone with her a few mins ago. Same attitude problem. I guess after reading all of these 1 star reviews I should be grateful she even called me back. Why, are there so many doctor's offices with such terrible front office staff? My appt was set for 8:00 and the last part of the prep happens 4 hours before the appt. The instructions say that if your conditions (poop) is still brown 2 hours before the appt call the office. It was. I called. 6:00am. Voicemail that said they opened at 6:30. I called at 6:45, worrying that I'd have to reschedule. No answer. I called and called and called... I finally had a 'cleaned out' situation (wink) and had to race to Sandy from Lehi for my appt. It's a good thing my prep went ok. But if you want someone to answer your calls? Good luck! When I arrived I expected to see everyone busily answering calls. Nope. They were chatting. It's irritating, unprofessional, and heartless. I may have to go back for a follow up - but I think I just may ask for a referral to see a new doctor. read more

I was so pleased with my entire experience at Granite Peaks. From scheduling & getting vital info for the appointment to the entire staff on the day of my procedures. The nurses, techs, anesthesia staff and providers were so helpful, reassuring and made me feel so comfortable. I was so impressed & confident with the entire process. They were also able to get me in for my procedures in just over a weeks time, which is a huge bonus. Everyone gave me excellent service, answered my questions, and made sure I was taken care of. No one is typically thrilled about these preventative health procedures, however this is where I will go when it's time for another screening, no question. read more

This was my first time at this facility and they are pretty incompetent. I was scheduled for my colonoscopy with a provider and then they called this and said oh by the way that provider doesn't perform colonoscopies for your insurance on Friday. Mind you this is a few days before the colonoscopy. I had got the time off to have the procedure done. This really is not acceptable customer service. They should train their office staff appropriately. It has nothing to do with the doctor as I have not seen him nor probably will for a colonoscopy. I will do a review on him separately. My husband had a colonoscopy set for Monday and that had to be canceled because they said they don't do them on Monday. Why would you schedule appointments that they don't do on those days? What is wrong with these people? Do they think this is acceptable? Are they all incompetent? I am just pretty outraged. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I now have a rescheduled appointment on Friday with another doctor but not the one I had researched and wanted to go with. I haven't received any updates from the facility regarding the new appointment and it's in two days. read more

literally hate this place. mostly the receptionist. I've called SO many times over the last week and a half to verify instructions for my appt if I was allowed to eat or drink or anything. NO ANSWER OR CALL BACK. Then I'm on my way to my appt today STILL AFTER NO callback and the freeway gets closed cus of a snowstorm. I made sure to leave early so I could get to my apt cus it was super important. I called FOUR times and NO answer still then when I FINALLY get thru the tecep was so fog brained she acted like she couldn't speak and did not give good answers to my questions and now I have to wait three weeks before my next appt. 100%%%%% could've gotten in sooner IF SOMEONE WOULDVE CALLED ME BACK OR ANSWERED MY FREAKING CALL. This fancy place needs quick money! Lures you in but if its not an easy buck there's not help.. False advertising of a "Team" to help- NO- Under a pretense of A doctor I saw ONE medic. Not Allowed for another opinion here!! Medic stated he had never heard of or seen these debilitating symptoms I have(which are all over internet & social media) After educating him with data & pictures he said if he didn't learn it in school it doesn't exist!! After that they wouldn't return calls. I tried to make an appointment with a real doctor, they wouldn't because I'd seen their medic who didnt have updated school books! This place is a total racket and the most unprofessional clinic I've ever been to. Never available to answer the phone, and determined to do everything in their power so you don't speak to a human face-to-face or even by phone. Instead, they try to push all their patients into using an awful, subpar portal so you're relegated to communicating by email. Here is my experience: After two ER visits due to severe GERD associated with nausea and vomiting, I had an endoscopy done at Granite Peaks to determine what could be causing the increase in severity of my GERD attacks which I've experienced for decades. During the intake process, I notified them that I have GERD, something I"ve known for almost 20 years. They didn't bother to request the paperwork from my first ER visit in another state. Dr. Desautels spent all of 2 minutes speaking to me before the procedure. The next day, I received a terse message through their clunky portal from his assistant, Fara, notifying me that I have GERD. That was it. Absolutely no mention about what might be causing the nausea and vomiting (new symptoms as I explained to them multiple times) or concrete next steps for further treatment or any kind of follow up from the doctor himself. So I pressed for more info including calling to speak to Dr. Desautels, but could only speak to his assistant, Fara, who rushed me off the call saying she had to hang up because she had other calls to take. It was the most unprofessional interaction I've ever had with anyone at a medical clinic. After 25 days of going back and forth multiple times via the stupid portal, I was told Dr. Desautels wanted me to schedule an appointment to come in to discuss my condition further. The analogy I made to the clinic manager, Erica, was it was like having your check engine light go on, taking your car into the mechanic, and having the mechanic tell you by email the next day, "There's something wrong with your engine," and then having to press him multiple times (VIA EMAIL! since no one answers their phone and you can't actually speak to the doctor) for more info only to have him tell you to schedule another appointment so he can tell you how to fix it. This place cares NOTHING about their patients as evidenced by not answering their phone, trying to automate everything through a crappy online portal, and not doing their due diligence before and after a procedure. But they were more than happy to try to talk me into getting a colonoscopy as soon as possible while they were prepping me for my EGD. AVOID THIS RACKET AT ALL COSTS! read more

I have to admit I was really nervous to come here because of the negative reviews. However I'm almost a week post op after my first colonoscopy with no issues. They called me the next day to check on me. That's great in my book. I have not had any issues yet where I would need to call them. That was one of the complaints from others that a human cannot be reached. But every human I came in contact there was phenomenal. Everything was explained so well and in detail. This is the absolute worst care my husband and I have ever received from a doctor's office. My husband was having a severe Crohn's flare so we decided to go to this office based on their reviews- but this office does not even deserve one star. We had such an awful experience with Granite Peaks that we ended up going to the University of Utah hospital for his treatment. When we told the doctors at the U about our experience with this office, they were in disbelief by the lack of professionalism and blatant disregard they have for their patients. So here is a list of everything that happened: -We went in for an initial consult. At this point, we were very concerned about my husband's health because he had not been able to keep anything down (solids or liquids) for two weeks. We were told by Rachel the PA that "as long as he is not vomiting, he is totally fine." But the doctor's at the U said this is absolutely not true and he ended up being admitted for 6 days because he was so malnourished and in so much pain. -Before beginning his colonoscopy with Dr. Schmidt, my husband asked him what they were going to do to control his pain and symptoms. The doctor SHRUGGED. No answer, no suggestions. He literally shrugged and didn't say a word. -After the colonoscopy, Dr. Schmidt was extremely rushed and barely gave us the time of day. He hardly gave us any answers and seemed super impatient with us. We again asked what they were going to do for his pain and the doctor said the only thing he can do is get a preauthorization in to his insurance for an infusion of Remicade. My husband has been on a steroid to help control his flare so we asked if we could increase his dose to at least help until we hear back from insurance. The doctor said "there is no difference between taking 40 mg of Prednisone and 60 mg." And sent us away without answers. -After his colonoscopy, we were told to call the after hours doctor if we were experiencing certain symptoms. He was experiencing these specific symptoms, so we called and called and called for an hour and a half and no one answered the phone. We ended up going to the ER and the doctor at the ER wanted to speak to the provider on call and so he called and waited for another 30 minutes and still couldn't get a hold of anyone. -Monday morning comes around and my husband is STILL experiencing these symptoms so we call the office over and over again DURING business hours and they STILL are not answering the phone. So I drive down to the office and speak to them in person. Their excuse for not answering the phone was that they had switched phone systems so a lot of their patients weren't able to get a hold of them... What a terrible excuse for not answering the phone. -I spoke to an MA regarding my husband's symptoms and she tells us that not only is 75% of my husband's colon is irritated with Colitis, but he also has ulcers. None of that was even mentioned to us after his colonoscopy! The doctor didn't even care enough to go over the entire diagnosis with us! -We were then told (again) that there is nothing they can do for us except to wait to the preauthorization from insurance for his infusions. I told them there has to be something they can do and they said they would talk to the doctor and get back to me. A few hours later, Tatiana called back and said Dr. Schmidt said they can increase his dose of Prednisone from 40 mg to 60 mg. I was absolutely shocked. They had literally told us just a few days ago that this course of treatment was ineffective. The doctor was just trying to placate us instead of coming up with viable solutions. I was then told that a preauthorization was already sent and marked as urgent so we should hear back from the insurance soon. -The very next day, we called the insurance to check on the status of the preauthorization, and to our disbelief, the preauthorization had never even been sent! They had blatantly lied to us! Dr. Schmidt does not care about his patients, Rachel is not competent, and Tatiana is extremely unpleasant and unhelpful. Do not ever go here!! read more

I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Schmidt. When I woke up after the procedure I was informed it wasn't completed due to the fact the cleanse wasn't successful, despite proper prep the day before. I was told, and expected, Dr. Schmidt would check in with me post-procedure to discuss and suggest a reschedule, but apparently he was too busy to do so. I never saw nor heard from him. I called their scheduling department after I got home but got their VM (it always goes to VM), so I left a message regarding a reschedule. The next day I received a "courtesy" call from someone at their office to see how I was feeling after the procedure. She had no knowledge of the outcome, meaning there was no communication or notes in the file that the procedure wasn't completed. I explained that my experience was poor, to say the least, and Schmidt's bedside manner, or lack thereof, was even worse. Ironically, i finally heard from the scheduling coordinator, who told me they were full for the immediate future, and she seemed annoyed that I had even asked because "they were full." It was obvious she could not have cared less. I will NOT be going back. Schmidt may be a competent physician but to have so little concern for a patient that he can't take two minutes after a procedure with his patient to discuss options going forward is inexcusable. I've been struggling with GI issues for some time and came here to get help. Thousands of dollars later and nothing. They wouldn't even call me back about my test results! I had to hound them down. And the only semi-solid answer I got was "There's a little inflammation in your stomach, but that's it." WTF?! What am I supposed to do with that information now? SERIOUSLY?! Not to mention, they told me to get there at 6:45 am for and endoscopy/ colonoscopy and go to the endoscopy building. So I was there. Doors were locked and nobody was there. Not until 7:15, after I had to bang on the window, did they open the door and tell me I was supposed to be up at the other building. I didn't even get back to the procedure room until almost 8! So why did I get there at 6:45?! Not only that, but the nurse anesthesiologist was so rude! I have PTSD and was super scared to be put under for the first time. She literally said "You'll be fine." and put me under. The only reassurance I got was from a nurse or endoscopy tech telling me they were not going to leave me. After all of that, no follow up appointment. Nothing. Total radio silence. I'm so upset. Overall, super unprofessional facility. Not worth the money or time. They seem to be experts at not helping, being rude and making you feel like absolute garbage! read more

The entire staff was amazing--everyone from the front desk, the RN (Sam), the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Stewart! I was very anxious about my colonoscopy, but everyone was so nice, and compassionate. They took the time to address my concerns and questions, easing my anxiety. The procedure went really well. I didn't have any problems with scheduling or communication. read more

We made sure that gastroenterologist (Dr Weaver) and the facility(Granite Peaks) were covered by our insurance (Select Health) What the company did not make clear to us was that they use an anesthesiologist who is not covered by our insurance and sent biopsies to lab in Roosevelt Utah for another doctor's review who is also not covered. After our insurance covered the bill for the gastroenterologist and the facility, we were still left owing $3,600 for a basic endoscopy - due to the outrageous costs of 2 other doctors not covered by our insurance. Read the fine print SO CAREFULLY. They will not tell you clearly that $3,600 of additional doctor's fees not covered by insurance will be charged to you - over and above the gastroenterologist fees and facility fees. read more

If you need a GI doc to diagnose a condition that requires more than a preventative colonoscopy or a basic endoscopy for frequent heartburn, DO NOT USE ANYONE at Granite Peaks, they are the Jiffy Lube for endoscopy, its how they make their money, and their physicians have an ownership interest in ordering endoscopies at their endoscopy center. (BTW, you sign a disclosure on this fact) I was referred there after a trip to the ER found abnormalities on a CT scan and my liver and pancreatic enzymes were elevated. The NP, Whitney Christian scheduled an endoscopy and since I'm 46, a colonoscopy so I set those up for after I took my last final for school. She also ordered an MRCP (MRI), and a bunch of blood work which I was able to get done quickly. I am a full-time student and had missed so much school due to my recent medical problems, so I asked them to call or email me back to go over the results. When the results came back, I was able to obtain them on my own, so I knew what the results were, but I didn't know what they meant, however, I couldn't get anyone to answer my questions. I had a gastric bypass in 2001 so when the radiologist that read the MRCP suggested further evaluation through ERCP I looked it up and found out that it was difficult to do an ERCP on someone who had a gastric bypass. After getting nowhere with the NP, she sent me an email that essentially said she wouldn't answer them but if I wanted to go over the results that Dr. Desautels would need me to book an appointment, which is impossible to do because they have limited office hours. I was pissed, so, I had to seek out answers on my own. It took 3 weeks to get into a GI specialist in Provo, but it was worth it and likely saved my life or at least my kidney function getting worse. I saw Dan Ibarra, PA and when I asked about ERCP in gastric bypass patients his answer was simple, it is impossible to do an ERCP in you without major surgery. It requires a general surgeon to open you up and an endoscopist to cut into your duodenum to insert the scope. They do not do them unless they KNOW there is a stone or blockage. He also said, there was no need to do one because my bloodwork didn't indicate a blockage, specifically Alkaline Phosphatase and Bilirubin which were normal. What was more concerning to him was my kidney function blood test was really low, it showed my kidneys were functioning at 50%. He ordered blood test to recheck my liver, pancreatic, and kidney function, so I went to the lab after my appointment and at 3:00pm that same day he called me to tell me he was sending me to a nephrologist because my kidney function test (eGFR) was now 41%. In 28 days, my kidney's lost 9% function which puts me at stage 3b kidney disease, 2 grades away from kidney FAILURE. My endoscopy appointment with Granite Peaks isn't for another week and a half and wouldn't have addressed my kidney function. I didn't get answers because they didn't know the answers. Last, don't bother calling or trying to file a grievance with them because we were hung up on. My husband, who is a pharmacist and has been yelled at by patients and therefore would NEVER treat another medical professional with any disrespect was mid-sentence asking her if there was someone who could call us to answer some questions, specifically if we needed to act faster to address the abnormal test results, when I had to stop him and tell him she hung up the phone. Granite Peaks is a factory line for endoscopy, nothing more. If there's something wrong with you, find a real GI doctor, PA or NP. read more

I had an endo- and colonoscopy here the same day. Intake nurses were kind; doctor after procedures was kind.. I didn't know I'd have a student observing me until 30 seconds before being put under, but oh well. I got a call with biopsy results from an assistant, which left me with a lot of questions. She didn't know my file AT ALL and said she'd find answers and call back. She never called me back. I called again to follow up, but was told "we'll call you back." THEY NEVER CALL YOU BACK. In-and-out to bill for high-dollar scopes but fail to help afterward. I'd pay for another visit to speak with a doctor there for next steps if I felt like they cared about patients, but once you wake up: you're irrelevant. read more

To Whom it May Concern, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in December 2015, after my mother had been diagnosed a month before. We had both been diagnosed by a doctor we did not like so our Primary Physician sent us to see Kyle Barnett at Granite Peaks Gastroenterology. In 2017 my husband had a bad experience with another doctor and having been diagnosed with Crohn's at age 6 he wanted a doctor who would listen to him and not just tell him their feeling on his condition, so we got him into see Dr. Barnett. At first, we loved our experience but slowly over time we noticed things were starting to become more about the money than the patient's needs. After having multiple flare symptoms my husband called and made an appointment to see Dr. Barnett however appointments were pushed a few weeks out at the time, and he was going to need to suffer through the pain he was in. Finally after a few agonizing weeks he went to his appointment where they advised a colonoscopy to check for active Crohn's among other things, however when you expect payment up front and don't bill worth a damn it becomes impossible for patient's to drop that kind of cash for a simple procedure ( its recommended that with Crohn's you have regular Colonoscopies), when asked if we could have said Colonoscopy outsourced to a hospital the Medical Assistant Kim told me "that's not how we work." It was at this moment I knew exactly what this office was about and its not caring for patients, I hung up the call and immediately contacted my parents to see if they had had experiences here as well and learned that my mom will suffer through pain because its not worth contacting the office for help. Last week my husband needed a prescription refilled and called it in, however he was out of refills and as of yesterday we received a voicemail from Chrissy Weavers Nurse stating they would give him a months' worth of the medication but wouldn't refill anything after that due to him not having said colonoscopy above, due to the holiday season to his biologic medication he will miss a dose unless Dr. Barnett fills out adverse situation paperwork to get it here before Christmas. The office has had it for two days and have not yet filled it out pushing his dose later and later. When a doctor and his facilities become more about money it shows that they aren't a good doctor. CONGRADULATIONS you've lost multiple patients. We are choosing to leave an office where your paycheck matters more than the care you give, we are choosing our health over the bull you put us through and we are choosing to advocate for care and bedside manner over costs. Your office is a great example of why health care in our country is failing and why so many people ignore health issues because doctors don't give a damn about you and judge you before you even walk through the door. I've been having stomach issues over a month now and I've gone in for a few appointments. I went in for an upper endoscopy. The staff was great and attentive.. but then I went in for an ultra sound after.. they never called me.. I called back for a week to find out my results and left messages. Never got a response back. Finally they sent me to a different doctor to look up my results. And there was nothing wrong. So they wanted me to go in for a CT scan. But no one ever called me to schedule an appointment. I finally gave up and did a juice cleanse.. and it fixed what ever issue I had without their help. read more

Rachel Hansen, the PA for Granite Peaks Gastroenterology initially appeared to care about my aging mother's medical condition. Unfortunately, after ordering some advanced tests, her office completely dropped the ball on my mother's case. The medical assistant never returned any of our calls on numerous occasions. At our follow-up appointment, my mother's condition had worsened. We had been in and out of hospitals and Insta-Care facilities. My mother had even called their office on two separate occasions in horrific pain begging for help, and both messages were completely ignored. At our follow up appointment, I addressed these issues, along with the fact that the tests ordered were not completed because the facilities in which they were ordered no longer performed the tests, and once again, our calls to inform the medical assistant were disregarded. Rachel became very defensive and admitted that her medical assistant had quit-which certainly isn't the patient's problem. She then proceeded to tell me and my mother that she couldn't help us and told us to 'get another doctor.' Not only did she charge my mother's insurance almost $600. for the unnecessary visit that day (which is completely unethical), she didn't help my mother at ALL. To add insult to injury, Rachel Hansen sent my mother a certified letter relinquishing her care. When I called to dispute the outrageous charges, the office said they would address the issue with the supervisor and "call us back." I have yet to receive a callback. They figure it's no sweat off our back because the insurance will cover the cost-which is borderline insurance fraud. Rachel Hansen even lied on my mother's medical records. The practices of this office are completely shady and unethical. The PA is inept, and acts like she cares-but her actions prove otherwise. Shame on you Rachel Hansen! read more

The staff was exceptional. Super friendly and comforting throughout the procedure. I was not sedated so I can speak to the whole experience. Dr. Barnett did a good job. He could talk to patients that are awake more about where he is and what he is looking at to give the patient the right education they expect when they are awake. The reason I am bringing it up is that I had a colonoscopy done about 10 years ago and the DR was quite happy to talk an awake patient through the procedure. I went there for many years and was happy with them. But now I would never recommend this place!! No one ever gets back with you for your results or even if you have questions. They need to train their staff the importance of following through with patient questions, or is it the doctors not following through?? And treat your patience better. My daughter went in to have a procedure done and the office requests all paperwork and insurance information ahead of time so that you can pay your estimated portion at the time of service. I paid in full on that date and a few months later get a bill for $1200 more. When I called, assuming this was an error I was told that they didn't include sedation or pathology in the original quote. The remaining balance was my responsibility and there was nothing I could do about it. I explained that this was an error on their part since not one person has a colonoscopy NOT sedated, or without pathology review and they agreed that it was an error on their side but I would be sent to collections if payment wasn't received in full. Dr. Stewart is very professional and took his time to explain the procedures and answer all questions I had. LOVED the structure of the place, Dr. Stewart, and all the staff. I'm using my husband's account to write this review. I was the patient and it is regretful that such accommodating medical treatment is spoiled by the abusive behavior of a girl in recovery. As I was waking up and trying to enjoy the last moments of peace from the anesthetic, I'm hearing her scolding my husband with raised voice and accusing him of lying. I remember him trying to defend himself but she would not even listen to the undeniable proof he tried to offer. I remember him quietly complying and not pressing the issue. It took mature restraint on his behalf to accept such humiliation, insult and disrespect. I tried to call later to express my disappointment but the staff would not give me her name, and without that I can't be specific. Although I was groggy, I do remember it being Julie, Julie Ann or something similar. Not giving the name of an employee to someone who wants to complain is not the behavior of an organization that is serious about wanting to improve. If this were my business, I would make a special effort to investigate the records and approach the patient (i.e., the customer, the one paying the bill, the one making the choice to re-visit) with an apology. read more

Medical assistants rarely, if ever, return voicemails. Called with questions regarding a test, left a voicemail on a Tuesday morning. By Thursday, i hadn't gotten a call back, so i called and left another voicemail. By the next Monday morning, i still hadn't heard anything. Called and asked for the manager to call me, or just get the MA for my provider to return my messages. By that evening, no phone call- then billing texted me and was able to try to get me in touch with an MA, but she couldn't get ahold of Whitney's (my provider) MA either so another one helped me and wasn't very friendly. I was still waiting on test results a week later, and called to see if they could check the status and they told me i had to call the hospital to ask them what the status was on my test (which a procedure that i had scheduled for three days later was dependent on) Katie in billing was great. Wouldn't recommend though. read more

I found the staff here not easy to work with and not very interested in going the extra mile to help their patients. They don't follow through and have to be called constantly for follow up. A few of the staff that work at the front desk were okay, but one in particular was very rude and impatient over the phone and very unwilling to help with any questions. Upon being seen in the clinic, Dr. Cutler was okay, but not great. Very monotone and ambivalent. Didn't seem too overly anxious to get to the bottom of my husband's health problems, but he wasn't horrible to deal with either. We met with him for maybe 20 minutes. It was going in for the procedures that really left a sour taste in my mouth. My husband had two procedures done and we were literally rushed through like cattle. It was very evident that they needed the recovery space that my husband was occupying as he was trying to come out of the anesthesia. They were really trying to rush us out of there. Then, my husband needed to use the restroom after getting dressed and they made me move to a different location while he was in the restroom, thus he had no idea where I was or where to go when he came out of the restroom. And the nurses were too preoccupied and busy to watch for him. Extremely unprofessional. Dr. Cutler met with us after the procedures for maybe 5 minutes, stated what they saw and told us they would call with results in 3 to 4 business days. They never called, so my husband called them. The MA (not the actual doctor) called back and gave my husband his diagnosis over the phone. Granted, my husband's diagnosis was not terminal, but it did require a whole life change. No follow up appointment, no further questions would be answered, no help pointing us in the right/next direction. In total, we had maybe 25 minutes of face time with the doctor. We would have to go elsewhere for more answers. In trying to do just that, my husband called TWICE to have them forward the results of the procedures to his regular PCP. It was never done, despite them telling him they had done it both times, once through email and once through fax. There are others that seem to have had a good experience here, but we obviously didn't. I would never go to this clinic again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

Getting a colonoscopy is never a lovely experience, but the staff at Granite Peaks were kind, helpful, friendly, and professional. Dr. Barnett's fun personality and expertise made the procedure much more bearable. I've always had the best of care there and will continue to use Granite Peaks for any further "gastric" needs. read more

I get the the facility and was disappointed that the anesthesia isn't paid for at all by the insurance company. They bring me back to the room. I inform them I have very small veins. The nurse calls over the "specialist" who looks at me and says. "We are going to just do the IV in your wrist because it will be the easiest for me. When she poked me I have never felt pain from an iv like that ever. I have had a lot of surgeries.. this was horrible. One that was in the surgery was done. I get to the Recovery where I am asked if I wanted my glasses. I said yes. The nurse brought my dad back. She said "great! Let's get you up and dressed." She handed me my bag and said " open the curtain when you're done." I could hardly stand up on my own. I opened the curtain and was taken to sit in a recliner so they could have my "room." The dr came over about 10 mins later gave us our instructions and we left. I felt like I was being heard like an animal.. it was so resiculious. I was so disappointed in my experience. I have pain now in my sternum from the scope and my wrist hurts to bend. I'm sure those things will change.. it's dissapointing. read more

My doctor kept pressuring me to get this health screening done because I reached the magical age of 50. I finally gave in because I was told that it was covered 100% by my insurance. When I contacted Granite Peaks I told them I was not going to do the screening unless it was covered 100% by my insurance. They assured me that they pre-authorized it and it would not be a problem. AFTER I came in and got the screening done, I received a bill for several hundred dollars. The screening was NOT covered by my insurance and there was nothing I could do at this point but pay it. This made it so that I was not able to pay other VERY important and necessary medical bills I had at that time. Also they are STILL trying to bill me even MORE 1 year later even though I paid them in full already, which seems VERY fraudulent! read more
