This is my very first review on Yelp, and I did not wanted to be this way but here it is…read more.. All started with me taking my parents to see Dr. Stokes about a year ago since we have never had a family doctor in our lives. My parents recently signed up for health care and I wanted to make sure they're in overall in good health. After few visits I thought Dr provided good care for my parents but recently my mom tells me she isn't getting the best care from a doctor who should actively listen to his or her patients, whenever there were test or anything needed to be done my parents would never get estimated cost of what the procedure so my parents, or even take the time to really understand my parents issues so since my parents stopped seeing Dr. Stokes. Before of these issues, I, myself started seeing Dr. Stokes because I thought why not keep one doctor within the family to make it easier on us. My visits to Dr. were good at first. A patient should be comfortable telling their primary doctor of all issues and not be hesitant in order to receive the best care; well, after telling Dr. Stokes my concerns her attitude changed from 0 to100%! I feel like you will be judged by her, she doesn't seem to care about her patients. My girlfriend noticed a abnormal skin mole on my back which I have never noticed and told me to ask my Dr. about it next time I go. I did tell Dr. Stokes about it on my next visit to her and she did notice it was abnormal and since I was also going to dermatologist I wanted to price check which place was going to be cheaper and efficient. Dr.'s office was the obvious choice and I told Dr. Stokes I wanted to have that removed but never received the treatment. I would visit Dr. for regular check-up but NEVER once would mention about treating that mole. She was always in a rush, would never answer any questions always referred to her nurse, DID NOT SEEM TO CARE OF HER PATIENT'S!!! I don't remember her nurses but THEY WERE EXCEPTIONAL. After my concern with Dr. Stokes, talking to a friend she recommend to see Dr. Horn since she has been going to him ever since she was a little girl. She too had issues with Dr. Stokes on her visits. So I called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Horn recently and the receptionist who answered the call asked why I wanted to switch doctor and I told her of all the issues my family has had with Dr. Stokes and told receptionist that Dr. Stokes does not deserve our money if she isn't going to provide the care my parents and I need. Well, I guess Dr. Stokes doesn't like bold hard truth and I'm not sure how my issues and concern about switching to different doctor got communicated but Dr. Stokes nurse called after couple of days stating Dr. Horn declined to see me and Dr. Stokes will no longer treat me as her patient. She sent out letter stating that she will not longer treat me as her patient but stats that my medical condition requires continuing physician supervision. WOW! Tell me where were you when I supposedly need a continues supervision when I was a patient with you? I never once got a call from her nurse stating that I needed a regular check with Dr. Stokes because of my medical condition which I do not know anything about. To this day, I have no idea what medical condition I have that needs a physicians supervision. Never once received a letter, email, a phone letting me know about this. ***Please save your money and time and choose a better physician other then Dr. Stokes. She doesn't seem to care about her patient or value their health, will NEVER VALUE your time or respect. Time to find a doctor who is willing to encourage their patient to get healthy and someone who sympathy with them.

I have had Dr Stokes as my primary care provider for 3 years. I usually only go for an annual exam…read moreas I have a high deductible and am relatively healthy. The first year she was great. The second year she was 45 minutes late. This year, the thrid year, she recorded my lab test choloesterol results as "better than the year before" when in fact they were worse-attention to detail. This year though, she was only a little late, 10-15 min. I had my annual early so that I could also discuss shoulder/neck pain I was having ALL IN ONE OFFICE VISIT because, as I mentioned, I have a high deductible plan. Do you know they charged me for an office visit in addition to an annual physical office visit!? Madness! Dr Stokes does not really want to listen to patient concerns and one is shuffled through-she does not genuinely seem to have any concern. I have a maintenance medication I have taken for over a year and she prescribed it for only 9 months (the first year it was prescribed for a year)--why...so I could come in for another office visit!! Do they have qutotas? So, the final straw was when, on Friday, I went in for a very sore throat. She thought I had mono. She did a quick strep test, negative. I did $500 worth of blood work for mono and strep. She looked in my throat and ears. She prescribed predisone for the swelling. I fill the predisone and start taking it. On Sunday, 1 full day (only Saturday between them) after I have seen Dr Stokes, I have to go to urgent care for extreme ear pain. They tell me I have a "nasty infection" (how did your doctor not see this on Friday) and prescribe an antibiotic. I take the antibiotic for 10 days, and after a few days I have ear pain in the other ear and puss again in the throat. So, I call Dr Stoke's nurse and I ask if she could prescrive a Z pack as the urgent care antibiotic did not work--I had informed them of urgent care visit when they called me to tell me I did not have mono, no, maybe I was getting over mono but not contagious (2 seperate calls by 2 different people). She would not prescribe a Zpack, nope, gotta come in for an office visit to help meet the quota. Additionally, she does not believe in chiroprators, massage therapist or acupuncture and holistic healing having any, and I quote, "scientific validity" andt this does not agree with my personal philosophy. Needless to say, I have selected another primary care physician...and I'm pretty sure I'll be charged to get a copy of my medical records. She's the worst doctor I have ever had, and that's too bad because I did really like her the first year. Additionally, my last visit was longer than usual, about 10 minutes instead of 5, and she billed for a "long office visit" ($100). Insurance defines this as 25 minutes or more--which our appointment was definitely not.

I missed the call from my awesomely concerned family doctor who had already reviewed my ER records despite the fact that it was a holiday and she was supposed to be relaxing. She wanted to have me come in for a follow-up exam. Since I didn't recognize the number and my voicemail box was jammed full, I didn't know I was supposed to go in. But on Thanksgiving, in the evening, when I relapsed into that toxic pain and shaking, my family called Dr. Rentel. She was there, and she had advice. She got me through the night and saw me first thing Monday. This is the most compassionate doctor. I love her to pieces. She has her patients' best interest in mind. She really cares about your health. And she's funny and easy to talk to. I have high praise for Dr. Rentel. If you're looking for a new family doctor, definitely try to get in with her. It will be tough. Since she's so amazing, she's always booked full. But if you happen to call the office when they're taking new patients, you musn't undervalue the opportunity. Jump on it! Dr. Rentel is the best.

They sent me away with anxiety meds. Needless to say, I didn't take them and went to see Dr. Rentel the following Monday. By chance, I was assigned to her when I was a student at OSU in the student health department. She asked me if I had allergies, to which I replied NO. She took a good look at me and said, "Yes you do." She gave me oral steroids and within 24 hours my breathing issues were totally resolved. Turns out, I have a severe grass pollen allergy that developed as an adult and procudes asthma. I'm now taking allergy shots to help build a tolerance to my allergies and symptoms. I wasn't crazy afterall!

I arrived at my appointed time and was greeted by the front desk associate. I wanted to leave after her poor treatment of me. She told me about the 15 minute arrival time and I explained but she said they have to tell everyone that. Cool, but there was nothing I could do about it at that time. She was snooty and gave me the side eye when I glanced at my phone. Granted, it is difficult to communicate these days with masks on, but I felt she was frustrated with me by making her repeat herself on a few questions. Had I not had a more pleasant experience after this, I would not return. BTW the only paperwork was a one pager that took 30 seconds to complete. Dr. Meleski and her medical assistant were super nice and I absolutely appreciated their kindness.

Only two doctors in this office. It's very clean and everyone is nice, professional and customer-oriented. The office is very clean. Certainly no complaints in this area. The receptionist greets your quickly and professionally. We were seen almost immediately (2-3 minutes). The nurse is also pleasant and nice. She is efficient, knowledgeable and quick. My wife had blood drawn quickly and easily which is rare. There are usually some kind of issues but NOPE. Not with this nurse. She was attentive and funny. Dr. Meleski seems to be busy. She is not as personable as some doctors I've had but, she gets the job done. Overall, we are satisfied.

I then try to get to communicate the following day and begged and begged and begged at the technical assistant would fix this.. it still wasn't fixed.. this is what they say on their MyChart..."Communicate with your doctor, get answers to your medical questions from the comfort of your own home, access your test results.". This is a complete lie.. they put me in the worst position here I couldn't even communicate with my doctor and I begged and I begged and I begged please make it so that I can send a message to my doctor on my chart.. they completely ignored me.. nobody replied nobody even cared.. find me what I did was said take my whole MyChart down I will never use it again completely remove the whole thing I will never use your service again and now I will have to call in for everything and I will never be able to use a service that they supposedly provided for me when I needed to communicate with my doctor the most important things I couldn't even get communication to her when she kept calling and calling and calling and I couldn't get to the phone because I'm working... How dare you create a system that's supposed to streamline communication and not allow a very important communication to be given to my doctor when she's calling me.. after I begged and I begged and I begged for you to fix it.. clearly the IT department should be replaced. I even submitted requests in the MyChart for technical assistance and it was completely ignored!
