In 40 years, I've had to replace only of the original 32 I had installed. And this was not a fault of the window but of the old house's window frame shifting on the weather side. They sell quality windows and doors, use experienced installers, and are well organized. DEALING WITH THEM IS SO EASY. When you phone, a company person answers the phone and responds to your need. DONE! Their follow-up repair service is also excellent. They respond, however small the problem.

We decided to go with Big L because they are local and felt like we wanted to support the "little" local company. We signed the contract and off we went. Our doors came in, were installed. They stiffed us on the first installation day, but then showed up unexpectedly a few days later. The problem is, the doors they installed were the wrong color and not what we ordered and the hardware was wrong. One screen was slashed from top to bottom. This wasn't evident until after they were installed. Our house is architecturally significant, and the installer had to create new holes and install hardware where there wasn't hardware before. Big L indicated they could just swap out the doors and get us the right color, but that that would leave us with holes and damage from the original installation. Not optimal. After MONTHS of badgering us for payment, but not making any effort to remedy the wrong hardware or ripped screen, we paid a reduced balance, and are left with doors that don't match our house, aren't what we wanted, and without any service to make it right. Oh, and the screen on one of them is still trashed. I wouldn't recommend Big L. There are lots of small companies out there. Try one of those instead.

They were one of 3…read morecontractors we called to give quotes and they were willing to do the most work (reroofing all the different smaller porch roofs, etc) the soonest. They also gave a discount to my husband for being a veteran. We were very pleased with them. They told us about when we would be on their schedule and then called us a week ahead of time to let us know they would be coming the following week. We did ask them to hold off for a day and we were fine with it. They gave us a full set of instructions on how to protect all our belongings from any damage that might happen while the roof was being replaced. The roofers came and did the work and cleaned up after themselves. After the job was completed the president of the company came out and evaluated the job and let us know of any little problems he noticed and told us a crew would be out to address them. It would be some of the smallest things like the roof looked slightly indented in one spot. We were really pleased with this professionalism and felt Stockmohr really had our best interest in mind. It's been a number of months now and our roof seems to be perfect!

We were quoted for a new roof on our home in April 2025 and work began soon after. The workers had total disregard for our property. They stomped across our front garden, left their empty cans in our children's sandbox, and left nails just all over. They also smashed and snapped a huge limb off of our lilac bush (I watched them do this carelessly). They left extra pieces of roofing on the roof that blew off into the yard as well as a significant amount of nails on top of the roof of our porch. I understand the work can be messy, but this seemed outrageous. I was picking nails off our driveway for months afterward. The real issues started this winter. We live in Colden, NY and are used to harsh winters with an old roof. However, you'd think after almost $30k for a brand new roof you wouldn't have to worry about leaking/ insane ice issues on it. We have had leaking in the past that we were told would be remedied with the new roof. Instead, the leaking has been significantly worse this year causing more damage through our walls and ceilings. The first time they sent a repairman out to address the issue I was not asked if we were home or if they could come on the property. They called and told me (again, not asked) they'd be at our house in 20 minutes. While I appreciate the quick response, I am a SAHM with two littles and really did not feel comfortable receiving a call that someone would be coming into my home while I was home by myself. In addition to this, they gave the repairman the wrong address and he ended up stuck in my neighbor's driveway which was completely torn up when they pulled him out. The repairman did nothing but take photos of the house and shrug. He told me he couldn't do anything because the amount of ice on the roof would further damage it. The second time this happened, he took a ladder up to look at the issue and told us it was because of the siding. Our siding is old, however we are not convinced the siding is the issue. He found more pieces of roof that'd blown off in our yard and told us he was going to leave to reshape them and come back later that day to reattach them. He never came back, and we never heard from anyone again.

We had this company replace a few windows and one sliding glass door. The person who came to do the…read moreestimate was polite and made it easy. Didn't seem to try to oversell us. The lady at the showroom was helpful and to the point. Workers were good. They didn't have enough people on the job to get the sliding glass door upstairs, but they called in extra help and got there right away and got the job done. Everything went well. They did leave some metal outside which was annoying since we have a dog.
