This was medically unnecessary, traumatic to my son (as he didn't know what was happening), and possibly fraudulent. My son was shaken by the experience. When confronted with the bill, they refused to budge on the charge as "it was a procedure that was performed". Avoid this dentist office if you care about your children or your money.

He somehow added onto the partial teeth that I had left and made them look like nothing ever happened. Then, we did the clear braces thingy and shifted the teeth to their proper place. Plus, Dr. Johnston is just a cool person to be around and made me feel comfortable (and I hate going to the dentist). After getting through the emergency room and beginning the overwhelming search for a dentist, Dr. Hill's office was the only one that called us back--and the only one that could see her right away. What followed was a long and careful process to rebuild an upper bridge and replace missing teeth, and throughout it all Dr. Hill and his entire staff were exceptional. They are kind, patient, and genuinely caring, always willing to explain, help, and make what could have been a stressful experience feel manageable and humane. Because of that experience, I eventually became a patient myself--despite having severe dental anxiety. As a kid, I once totaled our family car... crashing into a car that happened to belong to our dentist at the time. Let's just say the dental work that followed left a lasting impression. So walking into a dental office is not easy for me. That said, I recently had a deep cleaning, a cracked tooth repaired, and a damaged crown fixed--and I can honestly say it was amazing. It was calm, professional, and almost entirely painless. For someone with real dental fear, that's saying a lot. I get this new gal, who pushes the pocket measurement tool so far down it was painful and she tried to push periodontal cleaning on me, which would cost an additional $570 and weeks prior to Christmas. I told her maybe next time, so she refuses to give me my scheduled cleaning and somehow convinced the dentist I needed periodontal cleaning, and in a nice way, told me it's either get this expensive cleaning or leave. So, i left. I found another dentist in town, got my pockets measured and everything was fine, back to normal. Got my cleaning with the new dentist/hygienist and will not recommend Dr. Christiansen or his latest hygienist to anyone. My husband and I now go elsewhere. This is a well known scam. Pushes the probe diwn to achieve a higher number for paradentol excuse to charge more. And I was blown away Dr. Christiansen went along with her scam. When sitting in the waiting room for a half hour- they apparently scheduled two appointments at 8 am - this dentist is telling a little 8 yr oldgirl how when she goes under she can't eat anything because she might choke on her throw up.
