This sewing center is TERRIBLE. I called and spoke to the owner Kelly on the phone. I made…read morearrangements to bring some work out to her and have alterations done along with some patches sewn on to leather and jean jackets. We also planned a day for me to come out and drop off all the garments. So about 1 week later I took everything out to Kellys Sewing Center to drop off. I live in Harbor Creek and its a 45 minute drive one way to her shop from where I live. When I got there the shop was locked and closed with no lights on even though her website on GOOGLE busness and Yelp business stated OPEN NOW. I checked all this before leaving my house to make sure I dont waste my time effort and money. I called the phone number 4 times from the parking lot but when the automated phone answered my phone, I got a recording asking me for an access code. I could not even leave a message. So I had to drive back home. It was 1.5 hours of my time and gas in my car wasted because of this situation and I WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. So the next day I called and some guy answered and I told him the situation and was still going to do business with them depending on how they handled this. Well the man I spoke to said to me "That's Life Buddy". He offered no explanation or apology and told me Kelly was taking a few days off out of the 4 days per week she is open. When I told him calmly that I was going to leave bad reviews on how they do business , he was rude and hung up on me. I can see they have an attitude and they will never get my business. There is no excuse for that kind of disrespect and attitude towards people that spend money at their business. It tells us all in the Erie, PA area quite a bit about their work and their business and how they treat their customers. I suggest everyone take your alterations and sewing work somewhere other than Kelly's Sewing Center where the customer is treated with respect and without this prima donna attitude. I have been using this laundry mat for 6yrs now. It's closeness to my home makes it convenient to…read morego to. Unfortunately it has gone down hill since the sale to Chautauqua Institution. The place is constantly dirty and currently only has 2 working dryers out of 13 dryers. They take for ever to do anything repair wise. I know of several other locals that use this establishment and we are all appaled at how it is run these days. When it is close to season starting for chautauqua they repair everything but off season things are left to go without a care in the world for those who still use it. It is a battle enough having to take laundry somewere to wash it without the battle for machines too. Very disappointed in how the place is being run these days.

I've noticed this on the weekend, and assume it is because the staff does not work on Sundays so it becomes dirty thru use Saturday evenings-Sunday. During week day visits we've never had an issue, at least not during the summer. Looking forward to my visit to Chautauqua again this summer!
