I was shopping for a particular Mazda 3.A premium, manual transmission, black on black. My wife and I drove to Concord after an online search showed Grappone had the car in stock. We checked the car out, got a satisfactory price and said we would return by the end of the month to make the purchase. I made a phone call before driving there to make sure it was still available. It was. They were made aware on our first visit that we are cash buyers. The sales manager said they do not accept cash . What? How about a check ? Nope. Maybe it's because my wife and I are elderly. Or that we are mixed race. Maybe we're just a little slow. My wife was confused but I realize Grappone Mazda did not want to sell us a Mazda 3 for American dollars. I certainly will not recommend this group of people to anyone I have respect for. People of color should take their business elsewhere. read more

I had a great buying experience, buying car at a good price, pressure-free. Unfortunately, UPS lost the paperwork, which was being overnighted, so I was uncertain I could register the car on time. Greg drove to my house to return the car I traded in and refund my money. Amazing integrity and service. Anybody can do a good job when things work out smoothly, but it takes a really good business to work successfully and honestly when problems happen -- particularly when the problems are the fault of a third party (UPS) and not Grappone. Just bought a new Mazda CX-5 yesterday. I live on the seacoast but drive to Grappone when I need a new car because I know I'll have the best experience with them. I'm the kind of person who does all my research first. I researched their inventory online, double-checked prices with Kelly Blue Book, and compared prices (and other model options) on Consumer Reports. This time I thought maybe I would find a dealership closer to me instead of driving, but after reading the reviews of other dealerships (so many bad ones!!) I decided that Grappone was still the company I wanted to work with. I messaged them and asked them to call me, and less than five minutes later I had an appointment for a test drive. The car I liked best was waiting for me when I got there, two hours later I was heading home with my new car! Grappone doesn't mess around with you. They tell you all the dealer costs up front, have the most reasonable prices already listed on the cars, and all the cards are already on the table when you get there. Good a good trade in and price but that was it. Car was not clean when it was delivered to us and the dealer was not concerned with my time constrains. When we arrive at the appointed time to pickup the car the sales person was not even there as the sale manager had sent her out on an errand and kept us waiting 20 minutes. Why would he do this when she had a deliver scheduled. I then informed them that we had out of state company coming for the weekend and they continued to take their time with the paperwork and kept us another 30 minutes for the documents The when the gave us the car it was filthy with dirt on the floor maps, smudges on the dashboard and door panels, tape on the handles and roof of the vehicle, when I followed up and asked for them to detail the car the they said they would need it for an entire day and did not have loaner available since I work in the field I can not be without the car for an entire day. read more

REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE I made an appointment to take care of two factory recalls on my Mazda CX9. I told the service rep. I would call the day before to make sure they had the parts. On the day before the appointment I called and was told the rep was on the phone with a customer and he would call me right back. I told them why I was calling. Two hours later, no call back. I called again and was told he would call me right back again. I told the girl he didn't return my call the last time I called and she assured me he would call me right back. Guess what? No call back. Well that did it for me. I will never go to Grappone Mazda for anything and made another appointment with Seacoast Mazda to take care of my recalls. Buying a new car is not a fun process with the exception of the test drive but at Grappone, it's pretty painless all around. I bought a new CX-5 and I LOOOOOVE it. I test drove that and a 6 sedan. The sedan was nice too but I knew as soon as I started driving the SUV that it was the one. The sales department answered all my questions and kept me in the loop on the whole process. I left truly pleased with the entire process. Not once did I feel like I was being nickled and dimed. Highly recommend them! read more

Our initial experience with Grappone was great, our sales person was wonderful, she was helpful, informative, kind and just a pleasure to deal with. Our problems began a couple of days after our purchase. First issue we had, someone mixed our the paper work for our temporary plates and we had a different cars plates. They asked us to come in and fix the work, so we did, despite being told it would take ten minutes we were there for over an hour getting this straightened out. They apologized by filling up our tank, but we had the car for 2 days and they maybe added $5 of gasoline to the car. Our second problem came a few days later, they said that there was a problem with our paper work, they forgot to line item the fabric protection we purchased on the car and needed it fixed so the paper work would be accepted by the financing company. We went in, again, so re-sign paper work, thankfully this only took 15 minutes or so. We love the CX-9 and our sales person, so we kind of brushed it off. After 3 weeks I realized that we had not received any information from the finance company, no account number, nothing about where to send our payment to, nothing. I called Grappone and they didn't know why (but in reality our paper work was still sitting on someones desk) it had happened and they said to call Mazda. Mazda had NO record of us at all, according to them we didn't have a car and they couldn't take payments when we didn't have an account to credit it to. I was concerned about this effecting our credit scores, I didn't want to be punished with a late payment when I had done everything on my end. I had to make phone call after phone call to Grappone trying to figure this out. I was told time and time again that I would get a call back the next day after they looked into it, two days would go by and no call, so I would call again and no one would have information for me. At one point I was told that they forgot to include a discount that should haven been given since we were leasing the vehicle, that Mazda "never" does these lease discounts and that is why it was missed. They said we would have to come in and sign new paper work, our new payment would be slightly lower, but Mazda wouldn't accept the paper work as is. The finance person also told me that because this had been so problematic that Grappone would cover the cost of the first payment for us. A week or so later, I realized that the high beams on my car did not work. Called to get an appointment, they do not have loaner cars, but they will pick you up and drop you off at work if needed. Since I work at 7am and cannot be late for work, this was not very helpful for me. So we had to drop the car off and I was without a car for a day and needed to rely on others to help me out. It turns out that there was a missing fuse and that is why the high beams didn't work, which would indicate that they never checked them and just passed the inspection on the car without doing their job. It took about 45 days for them to process the paper work for our vehicle, and we never went in to re-sign papers and get the lower payment we were told about. We also got a call saying that Grappone had made our first payment when they submitted the paper work but we would owe them that money. Every day on the radio I hear ads with Amanda, the owner, talking about how important customers are to Grappone, how they have wonderful customer service. We decided t o write to her about our experience. We sent a 3 page letter explaining our buying process and how disappointed we were with what happened. She responded a day later and said she would look into it and she would get back to us. That was June 13th. At the same time a family friend that works at Grappone heard about our experience, went to the finance manager and told him what happened, we then received a call saying that we did not need to reimburse them for the payment they made. Amanda never got back to us. It's July 30th and we never received a response. It really shows how important customer service is when the owner never gets back to you, the owner that gives her email address and phone number out during commercials because her customers matter that much to her. It's kind of a joke to us now and we usually change the station any time her ads come on. On the bright side, we love our car, but we will never be purchasing a vehicle from Grappone again. read more
