Wow! I've went to Martha's Sale in Pico Rivera last week and was blown away. I've been to many estate sales, I've also set up many estate sales, the level of organization and work that went into setting up this sale was astounding to say the least. Never have I ever had a better shopping experience, everything was clearly marked, perfectly categorized, the staff was friendly and professional (not always something you get from estate sales) and the prices were very fair. While I was there I had Martha show me some of the more interesting Coca-Cola items she had for sale (there was a lot), her knowledge of these odd items that I had never seen before was very impressive and actually was enough for one of my friends to decide they had to buy it. They also had one of the biggest table saws I'd ever seen, they even cleaned it up and supplied some power cables to test it out. I bought a couple pens, a watch band and a hard cover of a Harry Potter book! I can't wait to go to another one of Grason's of LA Valley Estate Sales!

I feel the comments about Martha and her crew being well organized are accurate. But, she is not clear on how she organizes her sign up sheet on the first day of the sale. In the estate sales industry, a sign up sheet is used as a civilized way of coordinating a mass crowd to indicate who will go in and shop first, and so on. But it doesn't really work when people cheat the system. Especially when Martha is partial and shows favoritism as to who gets on the list first, which are primarily her friends. Her rules say that a sign up sheet will go out "early" without indicating a specific time on the first day of the sale. So, will the list go out at 5am or 7am? No one knows. Needless to say, when I showed up at 2am, there were already 15 people on the list and no one waiting outside. No cars, no line markers, no people, nothing. Just an empty street. Let me first explain that it's typically common courtesy that if you're going to get up early for a sale, then it should be on a first come-first serve basis, similar to how things are done at Best Buy when they expect a big crowd. You get up early and stand in line. Period. Martha shouldn't allow 15 people, most of which I realized were her friends, to sign the list at 8pm the previous night, go home and sleep, and conveniently show up minutes before the sale starts. In the meanwhile you had other people waiting in front of the house for 6-7 hours the morning of the sale. If the list went out the previous night at 8pm, it would've been fair if she let EVERYONE know that by stating those rules on the Terms & Conditions of her sale. But again, her rules simply states that it's going to go out "early." So she deliberately makes the rules vague. This causes confusion and results in a lot of angry people that were properly waiting in the morning wondering why people are just cutting in front of the line. Very confusing and frustrating to say the least. If it's your show, it's your responsibility to make the rules clear to EVERYONE and FAIR for everyone. But Martha clearly states that her sales is not "the same as everyone else." That's obvious when you're showing favoritism and you verbally admitted that you're actually okay with that. It was also obvious that the 15 ppl were Martha's friends bc they knew each other on a first name basis and she called them personally one-by-one explaining to them that someone had trashed the original list that morning. (Wasn't me, but someone else that felt the same way, obviously). Imagine you wake up early to go a big sale at Best Buy. You get there and find that you're one of the first in line! Awesome. Then a hour before the store opens people start showing up and begin standing in front of you, claiming "that's the rules, they're allowing this." Then when the people running the show gets there, Martha gets upset that she can't find the list that had all her friends on there. So what does she do? Gets a picture of the original list and puts all her friends in the front again. Basically telling me and everyone else that showed up early to F themselves, bc her ppl get to shop first. And it's her sale, so if you're not okay with that she'll threaten to kick you out if you voice your opinion. So, apparently you are allowed to call Martha the previous day and ask to be put on the waiting list, saving you a trip bc she takes names over the phone. You can also add all of your buddies too. You can also show up the previous night and sign the list for yourself and all your friends, go home and rest, and cut in front of 30-40 people who all legitimately waited for hours in the morning. Thanks for being such a fair and ethical person Martha! I wish you could clearly state your rules so that some wouldn't have to waste hours and hours of their time. Please make your rules CLEAR and FAIR to EVERYONE and don't be partial to just your friends.

Another Great Deal from Grasons La co Valley! Thanks, Martha and Manny!

Their prices are always fair and reasonable, which helps ensure that items actually sell instead of sitting unsold. They genuinely work hard to help families clear out an estate while maximizing the sale of the home's contents, making what is often a difficult and emotional process much less stressful. I've attended other estate sales where the prices were outrageously high--even on the last day when there was still a huge amount of inventory left. If I were the family who hired those companies, I would have been very disappointed. The Vintage Ladies are the complete opposite. They care about their clients, treat shoppers with respect, and do an outstanding job from start to finish. If you're a family looking for a trustworthy estate sale company that will work hard to sell your items and help you through the process, I highly recommend hiring them. If you're an estate sale shopper, I also highly recommend attending their sales--you'll find great deals, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere every time.

I personally observed the owner, Donna,…read morealong with her crew, loading items into their trucks and personal vehicles without paying for them. It appeared to be a free-for-all, with the most desirable and valuable items being taken. In my opinion, many of these items could have been sold to generate profit for the family or homeowner. Instead, they were removed as if they were included as part of the company's compensation. What's concerning is that there were still two days left in the sale--so how are those items supposed to be sold if they've already been taken? Homeowners, please be aware before hiring this company. Based on what I witnessed, their actions raise serious concerns about honesty and whose interests are truly being prioritized. If you're expecting a company to act in your best interest and maximize your return, you may want to reconsider. I hope the Donna reflects on this, because it does not appear to be helping the families involved--only benefiting their own pockets. I wish i could give negative stars! ----**

From the minute I met Michael, I could tell from his stories that he was sincere and honest, something I valued completely for the estate sale of my parents' worldly possessions. I didn't want to put everything in a storage unit and pay thousands of dollars for things I'd never use again. I love his model: they treat your loved one's items with respect, sell everything they can, and then clear out the home. And if you don't know about Prop 19 and the property taxes that kick in after your parents pass, I suggest you learn about it. Michael's company understands exactly why clearing out a home quickly and getting it ready to sell is so important. From the day I hired SoCal Home Clear Outs, the team was on the move. I can't express enough gratitude for Bazo, Molly, Frank, and Bill. My parents were, yes, hoarders. They were of that Depression generation that kept everything, and the team treated their prized possessions with honor and dignity, setting aside anything personal I might have missed. After the sale, Michael was quick to pay out my share. There was a lot of furniture left behind, and instead of just hauling it to a dump, his team made sure it was donated to organizations in need. His cleanup crew was amazing at getting the house cleared out. If you have a loved one who has passed and you're responsible for getting the home ready for sale, and you're at a loss for what to do with all their possessions, please call SoCal Home Clear Outs. Michael's customer service is outstanding, and he always answers the phone. If I could give them 10 stars instead of 5, I would. I cannot thank this company enough and give them the highest rating possible, especially going through the loss of not only my mom, but my childhood home as well.

After consulting with…read moreseveral estate sales agents, I learned that the standard charge is 40% and it takes up to four weeks to put on a professional estate sale. So no. I didn't get to use her expertise as our estate sales agent, but she gave us some great valuable information on putting on our own estate sales. I used the estate sales links she suggested and they brought in people from great distances. Our signage brought a great crowd too. BUT!!! I highly recommend --- DON'T DO IT YOURSELF!!!! I was pressed to remove the contents of my mother's home much sooner than a professional sales would complete a sale. Yet, I will never let this time pressure control the issue again! Penny's expertise expands all levels! She advertises. Completes signage. Provides adequate pricing. And knows about crowd management, which we came short handed at one point. She's knowledgable in antiques, vintage, jewelry, and coin. Through this personal experience, trying to dispose of my mother's estate, I confirmed Penny's estimates (which seemed low) on what to sell my mother's very high quality items, and yet I still didn't get that value. So, don't be disappointed that your loved ones antiques and such don't sell at your high expectations. People just aren't buying it!!! Penny also passed my impression as a good honest person. Who else would help out in so many ways? Hiring an estate sales person is worth the cost all the way!! So why not hire someone like Penny and Pig Estate Sales? HIRE PENNY!!!
