My pup loves going Alex and always comes out so fresh and clean and smells amazing for days! Grateful dogs is super accommodating with scheduling and have very fair pricing. They have done both short and long cuts on my little pom boy. Def would recommend.

    The Dude - Dudley
    Daniel G.

Just like the saying goes, "You've tried all the rest now try the best!" My wife & I have a beautiful 15 year old Cocker Spaniel-Bichon male we call Dudley that is in simple terms shy. Over the past few years he has developed numerous scabbies on his skin along with other ailments. This has made finding a groomer difficult where they each have their own opinion on our boys care and day at the Spa. Upon meeting Alex for the first time I knew right away Dudley would be care for and treated like a king for the day! After careful listening to my concerns about Dudleys issues Alex took him as though he was his own. After receiving a personalized text message I returned to have Alex meet me & apologize that it might take a little longer because my nervous boy was shaking all over due to the blow dryer. This I know firsthand is very true & they took the time during this final stage to, as Alex described, aged easing by holding the dog whilst reassuring him it was gonna be OK. In final, our boy Dudley has found a new home away from home for a Day at the Spa! I want to wish the Newlyweds good fortune on their venture together in this Dog eat Dog business. From what I can see they have the right attitude for what it takes to succeed. If Dudley ever needs daycare this is the place too! Thank you Dan G.

Maxie!! (My moms dog mimi in the back)

Couldn't be happier!!! I was nervous bringing my sweet Maxie to a groomer for the first time. she's my first doodle, so I wasn't sure what to do, but the woman, Amanda, was so helpful on the phone that she really knows what she's talking about! She set me up for an appointment with Alex(the owner), and he did a fantastic job! He helped me pick a length that wasn't too short or long, still my fluffy fur baby without being lost on the curls, and they gave me great tips on maintenance in between. Maxie will absolutely be coming back every 4-5 weeks, and I'll be enrolling her in their really great looking daycare (another review to come!)

My girl with her preferred haircut, mat free at this point, but the cut we like!

Background: I made an appointment to have my labradoodle de-matted and washed. I was asked her size, I told them her exact size, and I was quoted "around 60 dollars" but they may have to shave parts if mats are too dense. I agreed. I was told this would be 1.5-2 hours. I waited over 3 hours. I was told "we are very busy today" when I came in at the 2.5 hours mark. Upon her finally being finished, I had the absolute displeasure of dealing with the owner, Alex. Professionalism: They took over 3 hours. When I brought this up, he said, "I didn't tell you to wait 3 hours in the parking lot." He rang me up for $106. I said that is a lot more than the price I had discussed - he explained he "had to shave her for for an hour" and that for dogs this size they are "80 to 90 dollars minimum". I explained that I had told them the exact size, breed, weight, and problem my dog had. He gave me attitude, and said "it's ok" while not doing anything about the price. When I addressed his flippant attitude, he said that I was "mean to let my dog get like this" and basically insulted me for bringing my dog in to be de-matted. He was rude, flippant, aggressive and openly hostile to me. I told him I'd pay, but to expect a badly written review, and that the future appointments I had planned to set up with the much more polite female employee I had previously been dealing with, would be cancelled. I leave only to receive text messages from the hostile owner where he continues to harass and be aggressive (texts attached). Services: My dog has never had a worse haircut. I was told that they would do their best to brush out her mats, as that was the service I brought her in for, not even for a cut. An employee made me aware they may have to shave her but that they will leave the tail and head unshaved, as they always try to do that. My girl came out completely shaved, badly, with long patches of uneven hair in her ears, her stomach, he legs were like my son had done it. Her ears still dirty. Her entire face shaved, her tail shaved (except the last 3 inches), a cut on the tip of her ear (picture included), a razor-burn rash on her leg (which I can understand if her mat was very bad in that spot). Not at all a de matting, nor a proper shave. No attempt to save her face, of which had minor matting. Summary: I waited in their parking double the time they quoted. I paid nearly double the price I was quoted. My dog didn't receive the haircut I was expecting. The haircut she did receive was very very poorly done, patchy, uneven, and unprofessional. The owner, of all people, was EXTREMELY rude and aggressive with me and continued to harass me via texts (read attached conversation to not believe yourself). I would NOT recommend their services at all, to anyone. And if you are happy there currently, please, consider the type of person you are supporting. There are other businesses who will treat their customer's right. I will attach photos, and FULLY expect the owner to be sitting by his computer refreshing for this review to reply to... but I know she was matted in places, that is why I brought her in. They shaved her entirely, had her double the time while I waited, were extremely rude and insulting, and charged me more than we had agreed upon. Anyone who is trying to fix a hairy matted dog, DO NOT go here unless you are looking to be insulted, harassed, and overcharged. And anyone looking for other services, consider their professionalism. Best of luck to all of you out there reading this to find a nice trusted place to bring your dog!

Savannah after her wash at Grateful Dogs Groomer

Savannah loved her visit to grateful dogs! Alex is an amazing groomer with a lot of skills, very professional and fast. Groomers have turned away my dog in the past and he was able to wash and cut all her nails without any issues. Will definitely be coming back regularly !

Even the dog wasn't happy with grateful dog care grooming services
    Sam G.

I sent my puppy for full grooming, just trimming the hair. She came back totally shaved, and uneven cut. When I called to cancel the upcoming appointment because I wasn't happy with the service and I informed the owner that I'll never come back to his place. He got angry and nasty accusing me of neglecting my dog phasing as he said "" you shouldn't have neglected your fucking dog"" first of all I didn't neglect my puppy because I always bathed and brushed her, she wasn't nodded at all, and we loved her fluffiness, that's the main reason I chose this breed. Second he complained about me bathing my dog at home and he said that he doesn't suggest people to do home bathing to their dog, it's my choice if I bath my dog or keep her smelly. To Ms. Alex, I would say that my puppy never had a grooming for about 4 months means since I got her, just because I was not able to find a great place to take her to. A friend referred us to grateful dog care, but it was my worst choice I've ever did. This place may be the best grooming place, but the nastiest owner I've ever spoke to.

    Uneven

Horrible in every way. I was lied to twice, shame on me for going back after being lied to the first time. I brought both of my dogs into be groomed & they were washed & faces trimmed. Their bodies were not cut. When I asked about why they weren't cut I was lied to by Amanda (who groomed them) she told me she did cut them. I paid full price & had to return sooner than I wanted to because they would be completely overgrown if I didn't. When I returned I let the owner Alex know what happened he said he would take care of me. When I returned to pick up my dogs a young girl I had never seen before was there & asked if Alex called to talk to me, I said no. She tried calling him but he didn't answer. She was left to be the one to tell me they accidentally shaved my dog down. I asked if it was the same Groomer that always cuts them and she said yes. The Groomer has cut them several times and knows that I never have my dogs shaved down. She said that Alex saw my dog after she was cut and said to the owner did not want the hair cut short. Obviously it was too late. Not only was she shaved down but the haircut looks like a child did it, completely unprofessional. When I tried to reach out to the groomer, she ghosted me. The owner never contacted me either. If the situation has been handled, professionally, I would not be writing this review. I hate to tarnish the reputation of any business.

NJPS stepped in and helped us in a pinch, and we're forever grateful. From the start, they were reassuring, responsive, and incredibly kind -- they really helped calm our nerves. Their app made everything even easier; we loved getting photo updates and detailed notes from each visit. Selena is a senior dog with quirky eating and walking habits and requires medication, and they handled everything perfectly. It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Selena was so well cared for, and we came home to a happy and healthy pup. They even followed up after we got home, which showed us that this was so much more than a business transaction to them -- they genuinely care. Highly recommend their team to anyone looking for reliable, thoughtful pet sitting.

I reached out to North Jersey Pet Sitters and explained our situation. Due to no fault of his own, our dog went missing from our previous company and it left him with severe anxiety and fear aggression with new people. NJ Petsitters was able to work with us and sent us Donna, the PERFECT person for our two dogs. They absolutely adore her and she adores them. I love how easy it is to schedule their walks and that I get handwritten notes every day about what they did and pictures of them as well. I've never felt more comfortable having someone else take care of my pups. I would suggest using NJ Petsitters for your pets needs.

Greetings again fellow Yelpers...... Although it has taken…read moresome time for Ownership to offer a rebuttal, it finally was posted. In order to continue to provide you with factual, informative feedback, this latest evaluation of that response is now posted. Ownership contends that the "pack" is walked 3 x per day. When closed circuit video was operable, clearly, the dogs within the large play area were not taken outside; this was verifiable after watching the camera feed continuously over an 8 hr period. (There is insufficient staff to walk all of the dogs, on leash, within the nearby wooded area.) Sadly, the dogs continue to relieve themselves directly onto the play floor. The suggestion that existing smells on the floor contribute to the triggering of relieving themselves is lame at best. Considering that the play floor is sanitised regularly, and that it is a sealed floor, the dogs are simply compelled to relieve themselves onto the floor; there are no lingering smells. Don't forget, a single staff member is assigned to immediately clean up after the dogs "go". With regard to dog owners using the view window to check up on their furry friends, that window is limited to the small dog play area. Unless dog owners intend to camp out at the one window, it's unreasonable to suggest that the one view window provides proof of the dogs being walked, the lack of a closed circuit TV feed notwithstanding. TV feeds for dog owners was taken down several years ago; you should be concerned about that decision.

Upon picking my dog up, I was immediately told my dog needs training. My dog has been trained. When my dog got in the car, my passenger seat was immediately filthy (see pic below) and I noticed my dogs paws and elbows had some sticky brownish substance on them and he smelled terrible. Guess that's why they want to charge you 25.00 to give the dog a bath which is what I did the moment we got home. It took my dog 48hrs to return to his normal/playful self and 5 days later, he now has kennel cough. NEVER AGAIN!!!! I had a much better experience with K-9 resorts also in Fairfield.
