We recently made the agonizing decision to put our beloved dog down. We contacted Gray, as we are new to the area and had a wonderful experience with them and our younger dog who had an eye issue. Not only was Gray extraordinarily compassionate and kind to my husband, who took our dog in- but we received such a sweet sympathy card from them in the mail. I bawled, my kids bawled, my husband bawled. That seems like such a small thing, but it meant the world to us. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! I have never encountered such unprofessional people as some of the staff at this "veterinary clinic". EVERY time I called these people, they took longer to explain why they're too busy to help me than it would have taken to just look and answer my question! They're responses to negative reviews are a great example of what you're in for if you choose to do business with them. Of course they hide behind phrases like "we save lives", as if that's not exactly what every vet clinic in the country is doing. My Fur babies had appointments today and WE didn't have the experience I expected. Both my girls were due for dental cleanings and their shots.(age 5 and 6 and have been done yearly since age 1) I was told to drop them off at 8am when I made the apt so I was there 7:55a. In the car because they aren't allowing people inside. Upon arrival a guy came up and said "I don't know why they told you that no one will be here till 8:30a" So I waited... He then returns and gave me paper work that I had filled out and ready when he returned at 8:30 to get the paperwork and girls. When making the apt I was given an amount and told it would only change if they needed teeth pulled. The amount expected and quoted was double what I paid and not because they lost teeth. (12.50 each for toe nail trimming, 30$ each to drain anal glands, pain shot, antibiotics shot, antibiotics to give at home, blood work 100+ that I was told I had to do because they were old and the exam) I asked if they had an infection and was told no. I then asked my give antibiotics if they don't have an infection? She said it's preventive. Which I understand if they had a heart condition requiring a pre-med or loading dose but not preventive. My profession is in dentistry since 1994 and we don't give antibiotics unless infection is present or they have an artificial joint/part or heart condition because the bacteria in the mouth can enter the bloodstream. I'm not a fan or preventive antibiotics! This was not discussed with me at all just given by injection and to take at home. First off let me say my girls are my kids (I don't have children) They have had their teeth cleaned every year since age 1 and their shots. I don't have a problem taking care of them. What I have a problem is with miscommunication and the lack of communication. When I went to pick them up I asked what changed with the amount given when I scheduled the apt. She then says well you didn't have to do thre blood work... I said I wasn't told that the guy when I dropped them off said it had to be done. Get your story strait! Get in the same page! Well I paid the almost 1000$ and left with my girls They placed them in the back seat. Upon arriving at home my 6 yr old was fine but my 5yr old was still very sedated. Her tongue out and slow breathing, cold to touch everywhere and couldn't stand or walk. I tried calling the office from 4:00-5:30 and either got a busy signal or all circuits busy message. I put Annie in bed and kept checking on her. We had company over for dinner at 6 (Mention "Family" which will make more sense why I later in the post) After eating and monitoring Annie my family Miriah Aaron and my mom Brenda Mantooth Lynd suggest calling the emergency number to see what Dr. Laurie Gray thought. Immediately when I started to tell her how she was acting she said "are yuu stimulating her?" I said well she outside with all of us and won't even wake up or walk. Her tongue is hanging out. "My husbands mom had her Jack Russell over as well and my dogs don't like pet company and she didn't even care. I mentioned her prior vet visits and only because they used gas only and this was her first time for anesthesia and I wasn't sure what to expect. This made her obviously mad because she cut me off and said something along the lines of if you'd listen to me... She then says I can leave a anesthesia reversal shot in the black box if you want but I've got to go get my son. I then said do think she needs it. She said you can meet me at the park and I'll give it to her. I didn't know what park she was referring to so I had to ask. I agreed because I felt best for her to see her and decide if she needed it. My niece Miriah went with me to hold her and we met Dr. Gray at the Trenton park. I said I'm sorry to have to bother you because it was very obvious she was frustrated and inconvenienced by this after hours call and meeting. She then says "what's a inconvenience is when you call me 4 more times tonight disrupting my FAMILY time" I asked her if she felt she needed it and she then says to me "I think you need it more than her" She didn't examine Annie at all! She gave her a shot while I held her. She shows no compassion to my Annie or to concern for my fur baby. I wanted to say and didn't....wish I would have...I just spent 1000$ with your office and your upset for having to take a after hours call and meet me!! I drive from The Colony to see Dr. Gray and her staff. It's an hour drive one way but worth the time for the care and knowledge.

I migrated vet service for my 2 dogs and a cat that's bigger than both of them over to Dr. Gray. She has performed dental work on all 3 and surgery on my Yorkie. Let me preface that like the other negative reviews I have read on here about this place...it appears they never offer an apology only rush to give excuses and to find blame on the customer, so I am sure they will do the same with mine, however I must let others know the very disrespectful and unprofessional display from this vet. It was not good. I went here a few days ago. I wanted to wait a few days after the experience to reflect and ensure I still felt the way I did when I left. And INDEED I DO. I had heard from a few sources that this was not the best facility if given the choice, but wanted to try something closer to our new home. I made an appointment for a week out. I made the appointment, showed up 10 minutes prior and waited 20 minutes to be checked in. The front desk lady seemed overwhelmed and I sympathized with her being so busy and all, until she snapped at a few customers in sharp tongue tones. I get called back about 30 minutes after my appointment time, again no worries they were busy. I was left waiting in a room with no one coming in for 1 hour and 15 minutes past my appointment time. I then stuck my head out the door and asked the vet tech if she knew about how much longer it would be...she stated "that's a good question and acted a if she was going to ask the vet herself. I waited thinking she would come back to tell me only to have the vet herself shut the door in my face. I was taken back, but sat down and waited. I called my husband to let him know, while I was on the phone with him, the vet tech walked in and stated it would be at least another 20 minutes at least. I told her :that will not work, as I have another appointment" as soon as the words were out of my mouth the vet herself jumped in the room and stated that I need to be more understanding. I let her know that I have been very patient and if there were more communication that would have been much better than leaving someone in the room not knowing for 1 hour and 15 minutes past an appointment time.She also stated that she overheard the front desk lady telling people they were behind due to sick animals, I let her know that wasn't the case and she raised her voice to me and stated "well I guess they missed one and you're it". I let her know she was not speaking professionally and that I was a new customer and that wasn't a good sign for me or many others moving to the growing area. She let me know I was being rude by complaining. I then let her know that was not ok and I took my animal and left. I have had animals for well over 25 years and have never had a vet be so RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. It was a really awful experience. Not one apology or second thought about her tone, words or actions. There are many people that are not from the area moving here (like it or not) and what may have flown with people she knew thinking that just her personality will not fly with new customers. ITS NOT OK. It might be time to RETIRE if the job is getting that tough you treat people so inconsiderate. read more

Had a bad experience there my first time with my three dogs. Dr. Gray personally called me recently after learning of my experience. After talking to me she took responsibility and offered a partial refund. My dog suffered from pain and itching from the groom for a month (in which she received razor burn), and I ended up with a vet bill from another vet, but in the end we are all human and make mistakes. The most caring Veterinarian and staff that you will ever find! Dr Gray came VERY highly recommended to me as one of my babe calves became very ill. Dr Gray came right over to my ranch with a wonderful team of caring Vet Techs, who when they arrived went right to getting my baby better. Dr Gray and Miss Christa, stayed in touch to make sure that all was well, my calves are everything to me. These wonderful folks are truly a give from the heavens above. I usually bring my dogs to Dr Gray's Honey Grove office, she's fantastic and so is her staff! My special needs girl, Buttercup, had a minor emergency and needed a couple of stitches, we are able to go to the Trenton office on short notice to be worked in. Dr Gray is kind, gentle, caring, and so very good with my special needs dogs - the rescues who had suffered neglect and terrible abuse, and so are skittish around other people. Gray Veterinary Services is a decent place to get your basics such as vaccinations, flea medications, rabies, etc done for a decent price. However, I would not trust the life of my pets in their care again. Dr.Gray is quick to diagnose an off the wall diagnosis without valid testing to prove her suspicions. My experience is that while I was out of town, my cat fell deathly ill and she blamed it on a not common, yet unrealistic diagnosis that did not line up with any conversations from previous visits. Due to this, while out of town and unable to get to my pet in an emergency, she allowed my cat to sit in her care while not properly medicated for his needs due to her mis-diagnosis. Luckily, I arrived just in time to take him to a second opinion that saved his life and improved his quality of life for the rest of his life. While this fiasco was occurring, I was left completely in the dark regarding my cat's well-being and had to call repeatedly to get answers (that were not well informed answers). I would recommend finding another veterinarian to take care of your pets in an emergency. read more

We do not recommend Dr. Gray @ Gray Veterinary Services. Dr. Gray missed diagnosing our dog with an intestinal obstruction. We took our dog to her office in hopes of finding a new local vet. He had been vomiting for a few days prior, unable to keep any food or water down. Dr. Gray kept our dog who was in a lot of pain for almost the whole day and was confused as to what was wrong. Took X-Rays, Bloodwork, Ultrasound, & gave IV fluids. When we went to pick him up, they had us come inside and show us X-Rays that Dr. Gray said she didn't like the look of his spleen. Jumped around and said he could possibly have Heartworms. Then proceeded to showed us a veterinary medical book with a spleen. She then went on to move to the ultrasound machine and didn't know what she was looking at. Inconclusive with a diagnosis, she gave him an injection & sent us home with 3 medications and a vet bill totaling close to $500-. without an itemized receipt given at the time of service. They left the IV catheter in without telling us why? We asked the vet tech, if this catheter was supposed to still be there, and he said this is in case you need to come back. If not, take it out by Friday. Regardless, call and let us know how he's doing. Something just didn't feel right when leaving their office. Our dog kept declining that evening and we rushed him to an Emergency Vet the very next morning. They had him no longer than 15 minutes, and palpated an abdominal obstruction. Confirmed with X-Rays they took and he had to have surgery once they could get him stable enough for surgery. Her replies to our emails were very unprofessional, when we let her know what happened. She replied she had a suspicion on him potentially needing exploratory surgery. That was never communicated to us, upon leaving her clinic. Just thankful we went with our gut instinct and took him elsewhere. read more

I started using Dr Gray about 4 yrs ago. From the beginning I felt comfortable. In their office but most importantly my boys/dogs felt comfortable. I always watch closely as to how people interact with my pets. And I could tell everyone in Dr Grays office was an animal lover. Not at that burnt out stage where they become rough or insensitive to you or your pets needs. They were patient and loving yet professional. A few years ago we had to have my moms dog put to sleep. The doc was booked up with surgery's that day but made time to walk out to my vehicle and give our boy his shot. Then double checked to make sure he was gone because we couldn't get a weight on him for dosage. Then she stressed not to bury him too fast for fear of being buried alive. All this on a day she was booked solid. She charged her normal fee nothing extra They also do my dogs shots and dental care. My little one has to have his cleaned yearly and I'm very happy with the job they do. My only complaint is they stopped doing heart plus 6 shots. But I understand it's expensive and if not used up quickly it expires. So I have to go elsewhere for that read more
