The rest area has clean bathrooms, vending machines, picnic tables, charcoal grills and a pet walking area. As compared to others, it seems a bit larger and cleaner. Anywho, this stop doesn't seem to be cleaned out very often, based on the discoloration of the toilets. While I was passing by the open stalls, I thought people were being lazy and not flushing, but when I finally stepped into a stall, I realized the bowl was just caked with filth. This stop like most have vending machines and a map of Michigan. It's got a very short and easy in and out. Cars drive to the right and trucks/cars with trailers drive to the left.

Also, the area was very beautiful and gorgeous. It was super green - with lots of tall trees and grassy areas, perfect for kids to run around a bit to tire them out before having them sit in a car for some more hours again. Also you'd find a nice, semi-hidden little hiking/walking trail in this area and this trail would take you up to a higher ground where you could overlook 75 and realize how beautiful and green Michigan was :) oh and the breeze up there was wonderful too.

I visited during the fall, when all of the leaves were turning beautiful colors, so I bet that walking along that trail would have been lovely. I didn't have time to explore, though. Rest stops are places that you hit and quit, and that's exactly what I did.

There are other rest areas about 30 miles away, closer to town and some tourist traps; this is a nice place to unwind before getting into all that.

Plenty of restrooms with dirty well water in the bowls that makes it look not flushed. Nice area for a dog run and for kids and adults to stretch out. There's also plenty of picnic tables for a snack break too. You can see signs of spring in the 3 gardens surrounding the welcome center as well. It's nice and cool or as fancy as some I have been to in other states, like Ohio with food courts and the like, but it serves its function. My husband teased that this is my first rest stop review, ever.
