My husband is a veteran so he was sent there through the va , his authorization expired the practitioner didn't renew it kept seeing husband, they know want to screw him over by charging him saying he had to make sure and renew the authorization no it's the practitioner responsibility to ask for a renewal that's how it always has been. So we tried talking to billing and practitioner they don't care. They are all about the almighty dollar is all. Avoid this place. read more

Dr J. Lucus is an amazing mental health doctor... Coming from someone who has been a 20+ year mental health client... I definitely should know by this point. Dr. Joseph Lucus not only listens but he 100% hears you out... He is extremely attentive, straightforward, and 100,000% professional. Having seen several throughout my lifetime... There was always at least one con to go along with seeing whatever doctor it was at the time I was saying... However Dr. Lucus hits and checkmarks all of the boxes when it comes to everything I'm looking for in a doctor! he is so nonjudgmental and I can't say that enough because not once did I ever look up during my first session with him and saw him looking at me crazy like every other psychologist or psychiatrist has looked at me before at least... Yes this place is great I don't see how there's only 2.8 of a rating there because I give 5's all day long.... Grayson and associates is very appropriate and professional and believe it or not I've never had longer than a five minute wait... And really one of the important things to me? This is not one of those doctors who is just going to possibly see some thing he doesn't agree with about you and just never speak to you again... This doctor is going do you have the guts to sit down with you and speak to you about any topic that concerns him having to do with your Health!! how could you ask for more than that from any doctor...? I recommend this doctor to anyone who is suffering from any type of mental health illnesses and thank God, to this day we're living in, it is now finally being sought as a real problem because I know that I was having some pretty big debilitating feelings in my life... before meeting Dr. Lucus. I have been using Grayson and Associates for about 10 years now and I have never had a problem with them! My doctor is great and listens to me, even has helped me to understand some things about my child that is NOT his patient! They are always kind in the front office and have actually helped me sort things out with insurance companies. I also pay cash to be seen so it's definitely my choice to see him! I haven't had any issues or problems. I've read the other reviews & I guess I'm either lucky or was placed with the right people to treat me. I've seen psychiatrist nurse practitioner Jolie Wilson & she has been caring, supportive & understanding. I've received excellent care. I've also had many sessions with therapist Wendy Nace. She has listened patiently, offered advice & helped me get better. The receptionist has been friendly to me. It's a busy place so yes, I've had to wait but not too long. My only complaint is that I can't call or email my doctors directly. I have to call & leave a message & wait for them to call me back which could be a day or 2 later. read more

Well I really wanted to like this place, first visit was really good... I did see a patient have issues with the receptionist and just figured it was a fluke. My first visit was really nice with a a nurse practitioner named mrs Reed. She was very kind, thoughtful and seemed to care about her patients. And for her I would rate at a minimum 4 stars... how ever that is not what this review is about, it is about the horrid receptionist... I truly do not believe they give the doctors their messages.. I had called on Monday of this week for a refil, the "receptionist" took the message and said she would give it to Reed. Well here I am 5 business days later and no refil. To top it off I called this morning and left yet another message... still no refil. So as I told the "receptionist" this morning I would call back in the afternoon... so I did... I waited on hold the first time for 30 minutes... when it came my time to be answered. It picked up and then hung up on me.... ok I though the phone system had an issue.... so I called immediately back... got back in que a second time.... again I waited another 30 minutes.... so when it was time for my call to be answered guess what happened... yep you guessed it... got hung up on again..... o now see why this place gets bad reviews... it is not for the actual doctors but the horrible staff up front....I guess it is time to find another place that actually has better staff.... read more

Grayson and associates has been giving my son medication for five years and they have not even seen him. He has been hospitalized three times while in their care. On numerous occasions we notified them that the hospital told him not to take the medication they were giving him anymore. We also notified them that he was not doing well. They continued to ignore us and now he has been hospitalized again with high blood pressure and other problems due to there lack of care. I do not even give them one star and and I would not tell anyone to set foot in there office. The Dr. Is horrible and the front office staff is equally bad. read more

After nearly three years of dedicated therapy with this facility, I can say I have left worse off than when I arrived. Dr Grayson and his associates only care about money. Inattentive, greedy, and complacent. I stuck around because finding other services in Alabama seemed daunting, but having my fee go up (without warning) by nearly 50%, for the SECOND time, I saw the true colors of the company. If insulin suddenly went up that amount, it would be price gauging. Truly disgusted by this company. read more

Of course this was my 1st visit w/ Dr. Lucas at 100 Concourse Pkwy., Hoover, AL. I had seen him a few years back when I was an inpatient in Montgomery. I liked him. He seemed very down- to-earth & I felt as comfortable as I could be, especially because I have a hard time w/ verbal communication from poor self-esteem & a social phobia. And he was a MAN! I'm not comfortable around men, especially a male doctor. However, things went smoothly, I was able to converse w/ him very well. I'd suffered many different psychological problems since I was 10 years old, I'm 58 now. He made a few pharmaceutical adjustments & substitutions. So when I got ready to drive home I was calm & felt like he could make his own diagnosis as opposed to just carrying the same diagnosis over from the previous doctors usually did. I can't seem to hang on to the same doctor or therapist because they've sought employment elsewhere, moved, become very ill & had to stop working, or insurance carriers made me choose another doctor. I just prayed before I left the parking lot that even if he couldn't make everything just right, after all it's my screwed up brain w/ the problems, perhaps I would show a significant improvement over how I was just merely existing, not really out there living my life. So we'll see. Cross your fingers, say a prayer, or simply have positive vibes for me and my predicament. I'll do the same for you. read more

I have been a patient at Grayson and Assoc. For 15 years. I am VERY disappointed that I have had to wait 5 weeks for a prior authorization. This is unacceptable. I will be seeking a new provider. read more

I am not a fan of the doctor I've visited at this particular location. Pros: Wait times, located near interstate Cons: Parking lot very full, have had to reschedule more appointments than the doctor has kept. He's always seeming to be out of town. Had no issues when I frequented the Lakeshore Pkwy location. read more

I love my doctor! I've had my rough spells trying to find the right medication for me but given the situation at the time I started seeing him, I expected a trial and error phase. But when things weren't going as planned, he was quick to safely transition me to a different medication & saw me frequently during those periods. However, he is retiring in less than 2 months and no one else at this location does what he does when it comes to treatment methods: therapist & psychiatrist. I love the front desk staff as well. Con: The main call center is terrible and not good at relaying emergency messages. read more

I've seen a doctor here one time, scheduled the second appt for 2 weeks later. In that 2 weeks, I was experiencing negative reactions to medication. It took 2 urgent messages and finally a call from my therapist (at a different practice) to actually get in touch. Even then, I wasn't scheduled to come in for another day. Definitely not a place I will see again or recommend. read more
