I met the Di Lusso team at the Pearl Street Wedding Event in the spring, and they were so incredibly accommodating, helping me lock in my date with less than three months' notice. Because I live in a different time zone from where the wedding took place, communication could have been tricky, but they were exceptionally responsive, kind, and professional over email from day one. I trusted them completely. ​Jen was our stylist, and she was absolutely FANTASTIC. She has a wealth of experience, is a true professional, and she matched the fun vibe of our wedding party perfectly. My trial on Friday was a lifesaver--it eased every last bit of anxiety I had. On the morning of the wedding, it felt amazing to just relax and know Jenn had everything completely under control. She went above and beyond, listened to feedback, shared her brilliant expertise, and kept us perfectly on schedule. We truly cannot imagine the morning without her! She completed my hair and makeup, my maid of honor's makeup, two flower girls's hair and even was able to touch up a quick curl on another bridesmaid. I don't know that stylists get enough credit for being on their feet and using their hands all day while having to maintain a sunny disposition (despite whatever they may have to manage in their personal life and/or the myriad of oddities they likely have to endure at the hands of clients).... the salon here certainly deserves that acknowledgment. My visit to Tonic was a truly refreshing break from the hectic realities of life to thanks to their upbeat, welcoming environment with a very genuine and engaging stylist (who heard exactly what I wanted and delivered it!). It is clear that Allison seems takes great pride in her work and emulates a strong confidence in her approach (seems well deserved!). Equally skilled and engaging, Allison was a true pleasure to spend time with and be styled by. I hope the very best for her in the year ahead. Another facet of this visit that stood out to me was the very clear affinity the stylists seem to have for one another with frequent shared laughs and dialogue. It's a beautiful store. Upon entering, I wasn't welcomed at all. I had an online return and the associate that took care of me was inhospitable and incredulous in certain ways. She asked me if I used the product and I said no, I didn't even open it. I explained that after I ordered it online that it was on sale a few days later for half off on a beauty steal so I bought it again then. It was approximately $100.00 eye cream so naturally I'd want it for the cheaper half off price. The associate then proceeded to open the sealed box, take the eye cream out of the box, open it and take the white covered tab off after opening it. I said, can I ask why you asked me if I used it if you were going to proceed to open it anyways? To me, that now can't be sold as she opened it. The manager was standing nearby for the return approval and kindly explained that they can't sell something if it was used. To me, opening a sealed box, then opening the eye cream itself, taking the white covered tab off exposing it seems ridiculous, now unusable and unsellable after the associate clearly saw that it was not opened and she asked me if I used it! WHY even ask the customer that if you're going to open it anyways?! It's laughable and doesn't make any sense! The manager was kind and friendly however the associate needs extensive customer service training and maybe shouldn't even be in that arena of work. I'm a diamond member and will still continue to shop at Ulta just probably not at this location unfortunately.

The appointment was SUPER easy to set up online. I scheduled my older-than-ten child for the first appointment with The Yeti Barber, a.k.a. Sam, then added on a child's cut for my 10-year-old. Then I got a confirmation email with the capability to add the appointment to my calendar. Since I set up the appointment in advance, I received reminder emails & a reminder text, so I didn't forget. The best of the best was walking into the shop. I was greeted by Kelsey, Ariel, and Sam. I explained the goal for each kid and Sam got right to work. They're super-friendly folks. The store itself is bright from natural sunlight and fun, colorful, and unique to Kelsey & Sam's tastes. Also, their beagle pup, Savannah, loved and was loved on by both my kids while they waited for each other to be done in the chair. Sam chatted with my kids while he worked. It's not tough to engage my kids in conversation (at least when they're not in front of a screen) but everyone seemed to enjoy the experience. My kids will say the best part of the whole experience was the hot towel at the end but I say it's their summer-ready new looks. I'll be back to spend some time with Kelsey in a couple of weeks to get my own summer "chop" and I've already got some ideas in the works for a future appointment! Book your appointment *now*. She made it worse, and there was a solid horizontal line separating the bleached peekaboo "original" and where she thought she was "streaking it up to my part line". I actually cried it was so bad. Luckily a friend referred me to a locally owned salon who did a fantastic job fixing the Supercuts stylist's mistake. I am in contact with corporate to refund me what I paid Supercuts and the cost of the fix at the locally owned salon. Supercuts... Never again.
