Gemini kinda misled me bc they made it sound like getting a cheese roll or a vegetarian version of the iconic West Virginia pepperoni roll would be easy but it has not been. When I have inquired about a cheese only version, people looked at me like I had 10 heads. Until we stopped into Grazianos. Very homey vibe in there. Smells like you would expect an authentic Italian spot to smell. Bc we must have looked lost, they gave us instructions on how to proceed: sit anywhere, review the menu and then come up to order. There was a bunch of appealing shit, a lot of heavy hitters on the appetizer menu especially like basically anything you could ever want in fried form like fries, fried ravioli, mozz sticks, pretzel with dips as well as salads, pastas, sandwiches, PIZZA, and desserts. I already knew I wanted their spinach and cheese roll. After a quick conference with GF, we also decided on a small cheese pizza. We both wanted beer and under the pressure of ordering, both elected to get the large size. The large size was wholly unnecessary because it was XXXXL size and we were both able to consume about half, maybe slightly more. The pizza was fantastic. It was not quite traditional NY style but as far as outside NY Pizza goes, it was solid. I did not intentionally capitalize the P in Pizza there, my phone did, but it is appropriate. The spinach and cheese roll was crack. The ricotta really adds something. The dough was soft but crisp at the edges. The accompanying sauce was so flavorful and delicious. They used to be really good. The late couple times, including today, the pizza has not been good. Something has changed. There is hardly any sauce on the pizza. Under the cheese it's literally bare in a lot of the pizza. What sauce that is not that good. The dough has too many air pockets in it and smells like fried food. There is way too much cheese on the pie and it's overly salty. Sausage was sparse and missing on some of the slices as were the onions. The pepperoni is the only good item. Awful pizza. I was in New York 30 years making pizza. Graziznos is in business only because West Virginia doesn't know what pizza should be. I bought a pizza at Grazianos for 17.00 And the slice was bleeding grease non stop, it all fell apart, a mess. Need to eat with a spoon. Adding sauce and cheese on white bread isn't a pizza. I make a pizza at home in a regular home stove, my NY pizza has 3x more cheese and 3 x more sauce, you do not need a plate, NY pizza is made to hold in hand and walk around NYC without a plate. Today was a new experience for me. I hadn't been here before... To start from the beginning when my husband entered the restaurant we were greeted very promptly and kindly. We were then handed a menu to choose what we wanted to eat. The menu had plenty of options so we ordered two slices of pepperoni and two slices of supreme pizza and some cheese bread and two drinks. The pizza was phenomenal. The pepperoni was plentiful and in my husbands opinion had just the right about of sauce. I noticed the supreme pizza was pepperoni pizza but the toppings were then added and then baked a little after. Which I'm my opinion is a great idea because it prevents the vegetables from being over cooked. I ordered two because I was not ready for the SIZE! The slices were the size of both my hands! You're definitely getting your moneys worth! The crust was thin and held up well under the mountain of toppings that came on the supreme(which we love ) .. the cheese bread wasn't spectacular or anything special. It was your typical cheese bread with cheese and the buttery garlic crust everyone loves --- I order water just about everywhere -- worst water I've had. I'm fine with tap water however, it tasted so badly of "sink faucet" I just took a few sips of my husbands drink and sat the water to the side... All in all __the staff was very polite and ask if we needed anything when they brought us our food to the table. We did end up having left overs because the quantity of food and finished it in the microwave later this evening for dinner and it was still just as tasty... The atmosphere felt almost nostalgic. It took me back to going to pizza parlors with my grandma as a child and that's one of the reasons I'll be returning. Is that a good thing? Or Should that call for updates and renovations? Sort of a hybrid between a calzone and a panini - calzone in ingredients, but panini in flatness, with layers and layers of flat pepperoni inside. I also had the baked spaghetti which had a salty, scrumptious marinara sauce. Cashier said 'do you want it baked or microwaved' - and I'm still laughing at that question. Graziano's is like taking a step back in time. The lights are super dim, the walls are lined with 1980s faux rock. What you won't get is old school service. I grew up on Graziano's pizza. I've been around the world and think this is the best pizza I've ever had. By around the world I mean pizza in Hawaii, Sigonella, Italy, Turkey, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Alaska, Seattle Washington, Detroit, Cincinnati, Boston, Las Vegas, LA, Pensacola, South Carolina. I've always bragged to anyone and everyone about Graziano's pizza being the best I'd ever had. I now live in South Carolina and was passing through my home town of south Charleston, West Virginia on the way to see mom and dad at their nursing home in KY and thought I'd drop in and have a slice. I was turned away at 5:20 PM for a lack of dough. There were people in the dining area eating but we were denied a seat. Sadly disappointed with this visit. I just don't now when I'll be back to South Charleston again to try and get a slice of the best damn pizza in the world. This was absolutely the worst service I have had in 10 years! My wife and 5 children ( 12,11,9,6 and 4 ) called before hand to verify they could accommodate a party of 7. We arrived, nothing ready, no menus were available. They expect all these children to stand at the front door and order at the cash register. After seating, and ordering, and paying up front for a meal not prepared yet, they brought my wife and my order about 20 minutes into our "adventure " with these folks. 1 hour and 6 minutes later, after several, louder and more frustrating conversations with staff, they brought my children's food. By this time are food was not worth eating, I simply don't eat in front of children that are hungry. No apologies, no manager, NOTHING. Just multiply "we are under staffed" from the poor young waitress and people working the door. If you are silly enough to take your family here, you get what you deserve after this review. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED of the absolutely horrible way they manage a business. Remarkably, the food is pretty good. It is not worth watching it go cold, minute after minute, as you wait for an hour for chicken tenders and spaghetti and chicken Parmesan, to be delivered so that your children can eat too. It's as if they can not get out of "the lunch rush" mode. They don't even have waitress come take your order at the table. I was super hopeful for this establishment. I ordered the Sicilian pizza (large) which sounded very good on paper, sautéed onions and garlic, fresh basil, real mozzarella but no. First off when I got my pizza it smelled rancid like that of spoiled onions. I picked up a pizza on the way home from work, and I was starving by the time I arrived home. When I bit into the pizza it was RAW aside from the melted cheese! The basil was certainly not fresh either, it looked more like dried basil flakes from a McCormick Shaker Bottle. I called the store and the cashier who initially answered was very sweet and wanted to make it right, the owner suddenly got on the phone and demanded that I bring in a picture of the pizza. I decided that was no problem since I'd rather not eat the pizza anyways, so I just threw it away seeing that my boyfriend and I neither one wanted it. I called back today to order a pepperoni pizza as the replacement and the owner jumped back onto the phone and said he felt like I was lying and that even with a picture he was only going to give me 20% off of a pizza because he feels like his employees don't "mess up as I say." I just told him I'd never order again since they are so tight they can't make a replacement pizza for someone who paid 20$ for a raw pizza last night, WHO ALSO has the receipt, and picture to prove it. The first things I noticed when I walked in for the first time a couple weeks ago is how clean the place was. The restaurant was quite busy and the staff was very organized. The kitchen is in plain view from the dining area so that the customers can see every move that's made as their meals are prepared. To be able to watch the cooks and staff as they work to feed me is a big plus personally. The openness of the kitchen gave an honest feel to the place. The info on this web page says no delivery but I watched several orders leave out ot the door in delivery warmers.
