Spaghetti and Meatballs

The food was absolutely delicious; the sauce and garlic bread, in particular, were very savory. I personally ordered the large spaghetti & meatballs from the pasta portion of the menu, and my dad had the lasagna & meatballs, which he made several positive comments on himself. Waiting, in my opinion, is part of the atmosphere, and the good food spoke for itself when it arrived, apologizing with the very obvious care and dedication the meals clearly took. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a night out with family or a romantic date with that special person in your life. Me and my family 100% look forward to supporting this restaurant to the full extent as well in the future!

Today Tony and I had a very nice late lunch early dinner at Leonoro's in Charleston WV on the East End of town since 1915. It was Tony's first time here and my third. Tony ordered a Budweiser and I ordered Half-Half Iced Tea with Lemon. We both ordered the Spaghetti with 2 Meatballs Lunch Special with a Salad and Bread//Butter. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were both overly stuffed!! The lunch portion was more than enough food!! Definitely going back!! The sauce was KILLER!!! MEATBALLS awesome and Bread divine!!! Loved everything and every bite!!!

Awesome spaghetti! My great grandmother went here many years ago so we thought we would try it. The spaghetti is a large portion and was really tasty, the sauce is flavorful. The cannoli was also really good it was towards the sweeter side which I like. The flavors tasted authentic. The staff was very attentive and nice, we got a to go order at the end to bring home to family and they made it quickly. Plenty of parking in the back. Inside was full by the end of the meal but still rather quiet. I would definitely go back again

I've never had a bad meal here. I'm a spaghetti fan and add Italian sausage to your meal and you will be hooked. Lunch specials every day so stop in soon.

It's in a convenient location, quite close to the Clay Center. While on vacation, I decided to stop by here and grab some food for lunch. Ordered the manicotti, cheese ravioli and meatballs, lemonade, spaghetti and meatballs, and some garlic bread. The guy serving me was friendly and professional. He joked around a bit and refilled by drinks quite often. The setting is old school, not too fancy. The place I was sitting at had some leaks though. So, while I was eating, some water started to drop from the ceiling, but I wasn't too bothered. The food was more expensive than I would have expected it to be. Since everything in West Virginia seems to be cheaper than in Pittsburgh, I don't think this is just a different priced market. They're just overpriced, and by quite a margin. The manicotti (came with 3) were almost $17! The portions were also quite small, even for lunch. They definitely don't justify the price. The quality and flavor wasn't anything special. The raviolis tasted started, and the manicotti seemed to have noodles that are a bit too thick and not enough ricotta. It was topped with only a little bit of melted cheese. They both tasted okay. Leonoro's does give ample servings of tomato sauce. I will say that their lemonade is pretty good, and it's a good enough deal if you get a refill or two. The spaghetti and meatballs weren't anything outstanding, but they were the best out of all the dishes I tried. A bit better portion, decent meatballs, and spaghetti that is cooked well. Meatball servings are very small (only 2 per serving, and they are small). All in all, this place seems to have good salads from what I've hear, but their pasta is very mediocre at best. If you come here, I'd recommend the spaghetti with meatballs. *Photos are of leftovers

I'm honestly giving this place 3 stars just because I think we should all try to support small businesses. Prices are kinda above average and portions were small; especially considering my hubby and I both ordered a large. I've posted some photos for reference. With that being said--the food isn't anything that will wow you. The tomato sauce seems to be the same that they use for all of their dishes, and it's just tomato and salt. I've had a lot of Italian pasta dishes and I personally appreciate more layers to seasoning palettes in a pasta. I prefer some sort of garlic bread, the bread that they serve does seem fresh but it's just cold slices of sourdough (I think it's sourdough). Support small businesses and give them a shot, but don't expect a dish that you'll crave getting from there the next time.

There is really nothing like an old school family Italian Restaurant. I love it! I had the ravioli, salad and bread. I truly believe that nothing here would be bad. They had a workman like efficiency and were 100 percent confident of everything they do. My parents wanted to come but were unable to get in the front door with their walkers. The staff had us drive around the back and come in through the very clean kitchen. Very nice service. My family goes a lot (I do not live in Charleston) and they always love it.

Sub par food and sub par service. Not much selection in dishes. No children's menu. Didn't taste homemade.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Charleston, WV during our roadtrip and looking for dinner…read moreduring the work week. I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.

The building (though Vintage) was Open, Bright and Airy! A major plus to this Seasonal Depression Sufferer! We went to the bar to place our order! We opted for the Knotty Boy Garlic Knots for $10 & the Fully Loaded Detroit Style Pizza for $15I had a bottle of water and though he was very disappointed that it was ONLY their WV Craft Beer served, he went with what the bartender recommended (closest to a PBR & Budweiser that they offered ) for $5.50, total with taxes & Tip was $42. We were surprised that the food was out in like 15 minutes. We fully expected to wait since Detroit Deep Dish normally takes 30 minutes to 45 minutes to cook fully. This led us to believe it was PAR BAKED for faster Customer Service which to many is NOT A PLUS! The Garlic Knots were very doughy and extremely dense in texture. Not a fan! The service was fast and friendly but for the atmosphere, price and the fact they are trying to be trendy, the paper plates & plastic cutlery was a BIG NEGATIVE!! I know myself even if Melanac Hard Plastic for plates is okay, but I want true Silverware!! The sauce has a really Great flavor and the cheese pull was very nice on the pizza. The sauce served on top, a big big plus!! I live in Ripley, WV and drove 35 minutes one way to enjoy this meal, but the question is...would I do it again?? Probably NOT! I give them a 5 out of 5 on atmosphere and ambience they nailed that! I give them a 4 out 5 on Customer Service because the food came too fast!! I give them a 3 out 5 for the food, the sauce was perfect but everything else about taste and flavor was a hit and miss. The score might have been higher if I had left off the Knotty Boy Garlic Knots!! The beer though I tasted it wasnt bad but Im not a beer drinker, my hubby was very disappointed so thats 2 out of 5 stars and the tableware scores a zero!! I wasn't on a picnic and the paper and plastic screams picnic or lazy kitchen staff to me!! So, would I recommend? I must say overall, 3 stars out of 5 stars! I recommend you go and decide for yourself!
