    Flourless Chocolate Torte
    Me O.

The food here is amazing! I went this evening & got calamari for an appetizer (7/10), Caesar salad (9/10), eggplant parmigiana for the entree (9/10) & a flourless chocolate torte (11/10!) for dessert. Our server was great. She was very attentive, & down-to-earth. It's a restaurant at the ballpark, so the atmosphere may not seem like fine dining, but the food makes up for it! Highly recommend trying it!

Salmon with pesto risotto and roasted carrots

While in the area I wanted to try something local and was in the mood for Italian. The pesto risotto caught my eye and I knew I had to try it! When we arrived, we were seated right away. Our server was prompt and told us about the specials. We already knew what we wanted - the pesto risotto & salmon with the chicken alfredo. While waiting, we tried the bread with olive oil but it was a little strong for us. The pesto risotto was better than I could have hoped for. The salmon had a nice crust on it for the perfect flavor. I wasn't impressed with my fiancé's pasta, but he enjoyed it which is all that matters. If it had been my dish I would have asked for more sauce - it was very dry. We ordered the chocolate torte for dessert and it was amazing. Very rich deep chocolate flavor. It was hard not to eat all of it! Next time I'm in town I will definitely check this place out again.

Even though I liked the Fettuccine alfredo, it was a little dry and could have used more sauce. My Fiancé had the Salmon and it wasn't evenly cooked, but they did take care of it and made her a new one and it was incredibly good. It makes me wish I would have gotten that instead. The dessert we got was great and I am not even a huge chocolate person. The atmosphere was ok, nothing crazy fancy or anything, but it was neat to be able to see most the kitchen and the chef's making food. The staff was nice, accommodating and come over to us often. We aren't from the area so it was interesting to find, its in a building on the main floor, but depending on how you approach its not very obvious where to go. I am interested in trying Ristorante Abruzzi again when we are in town.

First of all, I cannot believe it took me so long to make it here. I was not a big fan of Paterno's, so the fact that this took over for it may have played a part in that. But I am a huge fan of Charleston Bread! Anyway, I was craving Italian food so I decided to check this place out. It was not super busy at 6:30 on a Friday night. My friend and I were able to get in without a reservation. She had the salmon with the butternut squash risotto and liked it a lot, especially the sauce. I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, which was very tasty except I prefer my pasta to have a bit more of a bite to it. But overall the food was good, and I will definitely return to try some other things on what is a good size menu. Service was just so-so. Our waitress was attentive at times and not so much at other times.

We started the evening scouring the menu for tonight's choices and settled on pierogies and falafel for an appetizer. The warm pierogies with potato and cheese filling had the right amount of creamy texture with the perfect crunch. The falafel with tahini and garlic sauce completed the appetizer. I saved some of the tahini sauce to have with the falafel wrap. The pita bread filled with falafel and veggies, accompanied by a side of tahini sauce, was the perfect balance for an evening meal. I noticed quite a few people coming in for dessert, which included the cheesecake. Admittedly, I was too full to enjoy the cheesecake at the restaurant, so I ordered a baklava cheesecake to go. It was amazing! The crunchiness of the sweet baklava paired with the cheesecake is a perfect balance to the tanginess of the cheesecake. The quality of ingredients and flavors used are perfect in every dish. The selection of food choices is hand-selected and crafted to perfection. Phenomenal restaurant! I felt like I was back in the Mediterranean enjoying a great evening meal.

I asked my waitress for her input and she told me not to get either because "chicken is boring" okay then!! I got a Cuban sandwich which was very good. As a side I got the tomato cucumber salad which was also very good. The chef came out near the end of dinner to check on us and see how we were doing. We sat outside on the patio because it was a lovely evening so I can't really speak to the ambiance but the patio was very nice!! I'd definitely come here again I only wish my traveling partner had heeded my advice and we could have come here before our last night in town!!

I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.

Family ordered a variety of meals. The Trio of Italy with fettuccini Alfredo, chicken parmesian, and lasagna. Ziti rosa, Ziti marinara and a big pepperoni pizza. The dipping bread came out with marinara. It was ok. The salads weren't that exciting either and the blue cheese dressing was truly not great. The potato soup was better but also not remarkable. The mains came quickly and followed suit. Most things weren't bad they just seemed like a knockoff Olive Garden - and that's not exactly great either. The exceptions were the lasagna and chicken parmesan. The lasagna just wasn't good at all and the chicken was overdone and dry. I found the pizza decent, but the rest of the family was less impressed. Our oldest said it reminded her of high school pizza and others reported it was bland. We didn't complain but someone was kind enough to provide a complimentary cheesecake with the sauces. One who sampled it didn't find it to be that wonderful either.

It's comparable to an American Italian chain (it is part of a group that also has several Mexican restaurants) like a combo of an Olive Garden, Artisan Pizza and neighborhood small town pizza shop. Not the best, not comparable to Italian you will find in a larger city, but still good and at a fair price compared to most sit-down restaurant chains. I don't think it would do so well in a tiger city but like many smaller towns they have to make compromises for a smaller audience, and more limited resources. I think they made a good effort and we would come back. The pizza dough was tasty, and sized right for me. The cheesy bread was not so great and too dried out. The salad was simple but adequate. We also ordered bruschetta which was too mild and kind of ordinary but maybe that's what the locals like. Usually there is more seasoning, olive oil in the mix and a more toasted baguette slices.

We were surprised that the food was out in like 15 minutes. We fully expected to wait since Detroit Deep Dish normally takes 30 minutes to 45 minutes to cook fully. This led us to believe it was PAR BAKED for faster Customer Service which to many is NOT A PLUS! The Garlic Knots were very doughy and extremely dense in texture. Not a fan! I give them a 3 out 5 for the food, the sauce was perfect but everything else about taste and flavor was a hit and miss. The score might have been higher if I had left off the Knotty Boy Garlic Knots!!
