    14" Works Pizza
    Michelle S.

The pizza is delicious! - I love a New York style and this crust was lovely, a tad thicker than other NY styles while still being thin crust, I really enjoyed it! They are very generous with their toppings! Highly recommend the works, so good! - Had listed inside a indoor lunch special 2 slices + drink for $7, sign me up! * - Only reason 4 vs 5 star is their online order from home system seems to be a bit faulty, we got there at our promoted arrival time to be met with that they hadn't started it yet and would need about 25 more minutes, ended up being about 30/35 minutes (If it were just me and my husband no big deal, but with a hangry toddler waiting at Grams house this was a bit of a surprise) The gentleman working said something along the lines of they only receive online orders submitted every 30mins which seems a little wild * Absolutely do recommend, and will for sure be back; but be weary of the online order - will be calling in for pick up from now on

The sauce the only thing good about the pizza. This is not worth the price point. There's plenty of better options for same price (56.00)

The lasagna was probably the best I have ever eaten. It had home made noodles, loads of cheese, red sauce, ham, and topped with cream sauce. My mouth is watering again just writing this review. The burrata was delicious too. It came with a small arugula salad, pesto sauce and a nice sized pice of rosemary bread. I wish I had more room to try their fresh made dessert cannoli's.

Walked into a busy, hot and crowded room that smelt like absolute dough heaven. I've been trying my best to cut out gluten and cheese from my diet and saw online that they had vegan pizza! To my surprise they had a whole vegan menu...amazing. I also ordered one of their many non-alcoholic options- a Riesling wine, really hit the spot. I had a lovely server who took the time out of very busy wave (not to mention only 2 people on the floor) to describe the whole menu to me, he was very kind and attentive. The pizza shown in the picture is a vegan BBQ smoke show, with their authentic Italian flour dough- although not gluten free (I'm not a fan of cauliflower dough) i left not feeling 'sick' or bloated. I was beyond happy that the pizza wasn't lacking in flavor or looks, very well done. If i could have devoured my pizza in one sitting i would have, but i had to bring it home. The space was hot and muggy but sometimes that's where a lotttt of magic happens! First impression was a hit, will definitely be back to test it out again!

We went in tonight and were completely blown away. I was hoping that the new ownership would be an upgrade and I was blown away. My husband and I love Vigiluci's in Carlsbad, but this was on par if not better. The smoked chicken rigatoni is hands down the best pasta dish my husband and I have ever had! Furthermore, the ambience is 10/10; relaxing music, the air conditioning was on, and I love the decor! Also, the waitress/possibly the owner was so sweet and attentive. She was the only one doing service and a bunch of people came in at the same time and she was great! They have like 20-30 dishes so of course everyone needs to be patient. It isn't fast food. Having welcomed a newborn just a week ago, my wife and I have been entirely too sleep-deprived and busy to cook. What started as a simple errand ended up being one of the most heartwarming experiences we've had in a long time. When I ordered, Bella at the deli register kindly let me know there would be about a 20-minute wait due to call-in orders, offering me water and fresh bread while I waited. Since my wife and week-old baby were waiting in the air-conditioned car, I brought them inside to sit with me. Shortly after we sat down, a family dining nearby noticed our baby and struck up a warm conversation. A moment later, one of the women from the family came over to congratulate us and offered us some fresh pastries. She returned to our table with two pistachio-filled croissants and two espressos--a gesture that, given our level of sleep deprivation, couldn't have been more appreciated! I later learned from Bella that this incredibly kind woman was Valeria, a member of the Giuseppe family who owns the restaurant. As for the food itself, we got the Gloria sandwich on focaccia. It is honestly one of the best sandwiches we've ever had--so good that this was actually our second time ordering it in three days! I cannot thank Valeria, Bella, and the Giuseppe family enough for their exceptional hospitality and generosity. We left feeling truly cared for and look forward to being regular customers for years to come.

It's tucked into a quiet shopping center with easy parking and looks decent from the outside, but the inside was packed and loud enough that we could barely hear each other. The service felt completely indifferent from the start. I had made a reservation and noted that it was for a birthday, but the host didn't acknowledge either. Instead, we got an uninspired, "How many? Two? Follow me." That lack of attention continued throughout the meal. The bar was out of ingredients for my cocktail, so I ended up with an overpriced $14 glass of Zin. Worse, no one mentioned any shortages before we had time to look over the menu. After deciding what to order, my fiancé was told they were completely out of veal--even though veal is the base for around few different entrées. Appetizer: The beef carpaccio didn't match the menu description. When I pointed it out, the server simply brought some cheese to the table. It was just okay, but ultimately the best savory part of the meal. Both entrées were major disappointments. My shrimp scampi had rubbery, overcooked shrimp with okay garlic pasta that I could have made better at home. My fiancé's replacement chicken dish was heavily oversalted, with some pasta and vegetables on the side. The only bright spot was dessert. We grabbed a couple of treats from the display on our way out, and the mini cannoli and lemon gelato cheesecake were both great. Skip the homemade lemon cheesecake, though--it tasted more like barely sweetened yogurt. Overall, between sub-par , missing menu staples, and disappointing entrées, this was not the birthday dinner we were hoping for. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

You can tell everything is made with quality ingredients. We ordered the calamari, and it was fantastic, especially with the dipping sauce. The homemade breadsticks were fresh, although I definitely recommend getting a side of marinara since they're a little plain on their own. We also ordered the meat ravioli and pasta with meatballs to go, and both were delicious. For pizza, we had the 12-inch Meat Lover's. The toppings and ingredients were fresh, but the crust wasn't quite what I expected. I wish I had taken a picture of the underside because it lacked that crispy, well-baked texture I usually look for. That said, it was still a good pizza and was the perfect size to share with my 12-year-old son. The restaurant itself was very clean, both inside and on the patio. We chose to eat outside since it was a hot day, and the harbor views gave the place a relaxing, old-school 90s coastal vibe. Parking around the harbor can be a challenge, and the shared public restrooms definitely show their age. Service was just okay during this visit. Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. The owner has always been incredibly friendly, though. On a previous visit, he even surprised my kids with free desserts, which was a really nice touch. Like many places around the harbor, prices seem a bit higher because of the tourist location. Even so, the quality of the food keeps bringing us back. This was my third or fourth visit, and while there isn't one thing that absolutely blows me away, it's consistently good Italian food in Oceanside. I'd definitely recommend giving Dominic's a try if you're looking for fresh food in a great harbor setting. 4.5/5
