The restaurant is as casual as it can be, with an ordering counter in the front room, a patio with seating area in the back, and an outdoor bar on the side that can accommodate 20+ people. But since we were on vacation in the San Diego area and I've heard that fish tacos are popular there, I needed to get some. And my goodness, I'm so glad that I did. Also, the service was excellent. They recently reduced their nacho size by half. Talk about shrinkflation. 22+ dollars after tax for the new size is definitely not worth it. Absolute 5 star experience with this restaurant and their entire staff. We live on the east coast and were visiting for our son's college graduation. It was recommended to us by his friends so I ordered catering for our dinner and the process was super easy and quick. When we went to pick up our food, the manager Mary grabbed our catering order and advised us it wasn't ready but they would get it together as quickly as possible. I realized in my stupidity that I had put the WRONG date on our order and it wasn't scheduled for pickup until the next night. At no point did the staff (and especially the manager Mary), make us feel stupid or like it was our fault (which it clearly was). She frantically had the staff cook all of the food and proceeded to tell every customer coming in to order that it would be a 20-25 minute wait because they immediately made us the priority. Mary even offered to give us a drink for free and to throw in the guacamole for free as well. Totally unnecessary but incredibly kind. We have many friends and family members who live in CA and I will tell them all about my amazing experience at this place. It is rare that people treat you with so much kindness nowadays and although I'm sure ALL of us involved wish I hadn't made this mistake, it ended up being such a wonderful experience that I'm glad it happened. OH! And the FOOD WAS AMAZING. We ordered carne asada and chicken tacos. Best guacamole ever with no crap mixed in, just tons of giant pieces of avocado and great flavor. We have zero good Mexican food in New England and were really looking forward to this food and they delivered in every way. Thank you to Mary and the entire staff!
