Wow! Just can't say enough good things about this business! I can't imagine any better place to have your window tinting or car detailing done. I first called to ask a few questions and the young man who took the call was courteous, cheerful and helpful. I had a lot of questions so it was suggested to come in and talk with the owner, Gabe Vargas. Gabe sat down with me and spent at least 20 - 30 minutes and answered ALL my questions about the different kinds and qualities of tint, California law, warranties and prices. He showed me examples of different cars on the property with different tints so that I could get a better idea of what the different tints look like. Although he was very busy, he managed to have me come in very early the next morning so he could squeeze my car into his schedule. I prepaid for the job and he gave me a ride to work. Around 2:00 pm he DELIVERED my car to work! I didn't even have to go get it! I had a chance to go out and look at the car before he left. He showed me all the work that was done and did not leave until he knew I was satisfied with the job. He even cleaned the car for me! Took our truck in for a Hub problem on the passenger side. Upon inspection, my husband was concern other parts might need replacement also. They were very honest and straight to the point. ONLY HUBS needed replacement, nothing else. They are really looking out for their customers and ain't trying to rip people off for the work. Can't believe I just found out about this place! Awesome! Besides doing everything from amazing glass tinting to detailing to body repair (and probably more), they do it with remarkable excellence! The day I was there, without me asking, they gave me a loaner car (so very helpful)! I was impressed at first since they offered to open the shop early for me to cater to my schedule. On the day of the appointment, nobody showed. I called and left a message asking them to call me back in regards to my appointment (that I never canceled). I went back at regular office hours and the office was still closed. I purchased a 2002 Ford Excursion and it was in dire need of a detail job more than what I could do. After doing some research I came across Grease Monkeys and saw that it has 5 stars!! Initially went in for a simple tint job, ended up getting my two broken windows fixed and they can now roll up and down! The customer service was fantastic and I felt my Ford Focus was in good hands. The process was explained to me well and I felt I had a good handle on what would be happening to my car and wasn't being taken advantage of. The array of what these guys can do at their shop is amazing and I felt their pricing was fair. The tint and fixing of the window motors took all day (totaling 9.5 hours), however, they were able to do it all and order the parts and have them arrive all in a day and have my car keys soon back in my hand. I would recommend they take a second look inside the cars before returning them to the customer, due to me finding grease all over my seats (front and back), but I was able to clean them off when I got home with some upholstery cleaner and a damp rag. I wanted to re-tint my windows for my Honda Accord since they started to look blue and green because black out tint uses crap tint. I came in and Edgar and Gabe showed me their work. They showed me the difference between black out garbage tint and their tint. Their tint is way better and much darker looking. Gabe and Edgar gave me a good deal. I am wondering how they are rating themselves as 5 stars- there were red flags that went up as I was dealing with Gabe. I initially contacted him based on the Yelp ratings and our initial discussion was pleasant and he said all the right things so I arranged a time to bring my 62 Chevy in for a restoration (~$15K to $20K job/not small ). SO here is what I experienced: * Lack of follow up and clarity re scheduling of my car, which is fine as I understand how this works. I have a few other cars that were completely restored- but it soon became difficult to get a confirmation to whether or not they were ready (red flag1). I called them, and follow up was lacking; i got a VM back stating "if I still wanted to bring my car in" they would work on it (red flag2). I would think as a customer , who is about to invest a lot of money in a restoration, customer service would be top of mind, NOT- "doing me a favor of taking my car, my time and my money". * After this odd behavior, I focused on the posted feedback and noticed a pattern of comment posting (red flag3) and the pictures they have are reflective of car tinting and not in front of their shop, just pictures of cars with tinted windows (red flag4)- *I checked with my peers who also restore cars in Salinas (should have done this first) and feedback not overwhelming re car restoration services (red flag5), tinting services ok. Overall, I think that there was too much confusion and mismanaged communications and expectations upfront, and I could not establish enough trust to give someone $15-$20,000. I would advise others to ask many questions and make sure you are the "customer", if not go elsewhere- or you could be subject to a bad experience and not get your money's worth- also I will say, it was not confrontational, all conversations were cordial- I am just summarizing my rationale process. read more

He did a walk around with me to make sure they didn't get blamed for any previous scratches or scuffs to the car which made me feel secure about the whole situation.
