If you're not going through insurance, **run for the hills** Or maybe any matter **run for the hills**! My experience with this auto body shop--specifically with " Adrian", the co-owner and son of the owner was one of the worst business experiences I've ever had. His father appears to have positive reviews, but Adrian is an entirely different story. I originally connected with Adrian through " OfferUp " after listing my Dodge Challenger, which had been in a serious accident. He initially offered to buy the car, then claimed he could repair it for far less than what other shops quoted*. He talked himself up endlessly, bragged about the shop's 4.5-star Yelp rating, and even claimed he and his dad painted the "Batman" car some years ago. It all sounded convincing " it wasn't ". I checked Yelp, discussed it with my mom (who was helping me financially), and decided to move forward. That turned out to be a huge mistake. Adrian initially estimated the repair would be *$7,500-$8,000*, definitely under $10k. That number quickly ballooned to ** $13,000!!! **, and even then the car was returned " Half-done and poorly repaired ". From start to finish, the process was filled with " empty promises and manipulation at its finest. " * Constant "it'll be done tomorrow" excuses * Repeated pressure for money unrelated to the car ("I need $1,500 for my house project," "If I don't get the rest today my wife will be mad") * Missed deadlines with no accountability * Promised progress photos that never came--except once when he sent a photo of himself at his dad's birthday party instead My mom and I were in a group chat with him the entire time, so all of this is documented. On top of the financial stress, Adrian was immature, unprofessional, rude, arrogant, and dishonest. He contradicted himself constantly, couldn't keep track of his own lies, and when confronted, became defensive and insulting. At one point, he even threatened and disrespected both me and my mother. The final result? * Subpar, rushed work* * A broken driver-side sway bar left unfixed* * And his response was essentially " I was trying to save you money" and " You're lucky I even fixed your car." If zero stars were an option, I'd give it. If you care about your car, your money, your sanity, and being treated with basic respect--do not bring your vehicle here.If your expectations are realistic and you just want the job done correctly, save yourself the stress and go literally anywhere else. And yes I do know of some highly skilled car mechanics that ether live far away from me now or are too old tobe working on cars now that completely agree with me on this. And I know I'am going to have some nerds in the comment section say " why didn't you just pull the car out ?? " Not that easy and or " Your car was pretty much salvage before why are you complaining ? " The short answer is everything I just said in this whole review about my experience I had with him is why... How he conducted himself and his business if he was an actual decent human being and actually cared about the people and his own *job* instead of just about money . I am writing to file a complaint against Car Tech Auto Collision regarding extremely poor service, lack of communication, and the loss of my personal belongings. This company took possession of my car for repairs, and during that time, several of my valuable and irreplaceable belongings went missing. These items were a meaningful gift from Europe and hold significant personal value to me. They cannot be replaced, which makes this loss especially upsetting. Throughout the process, my car was transferred to multiple locations without my knowledge. I was often told it was at one shop, only to later find out it had been moved somewhere else. Communication was very poor, and I constantly had to call them for updates. I feel that it should not have been my responsibility to chase them for information about my own vehicle. My car had been in a wreck since February 13, 2025, and Car Tech Auto Collision failed to properly repair the issue for over a year. It was not until April 15, 2026, when a different, larger company repaired my vehicle, that the full problem was finally resolved. This raises serious concerns about the quality and effectiveness of the work done by Car Tech Auto Collision. It took over a year and five months just to attempt to fix a dashboard light, which is completely unacceptable. During that time, I repeatedly asked about my belongings, but they refused to let me speak with the person who worked on my car. They also refused to provide any camera footage or assist in locating my missing items. In addition, the company used aftermarket parts on my vehicle without informing me or getting my approval. I was not given any option or prior notice about this. On top of that, they installed a broken headlight on my car, which raises serious concerns about the quality of their work and the safety of my vehicle. I also experienced highly unprofessional and concerning behavior. I was given advice by someone at the company on how to commit insurance fraud, and they also stated that they had engaged in fraudulent activity involving a vehicle that did not pass smog due to modifications. These statements raised serious concerns about the company's integrity and business practices. This situation has caused me significant stress and frustration, and I feel my concerns were not taken seriously at any point. I am requesting assistance in recovering compensation for my lost belongings and for the company to be held accountable for their actions, lack of professionalism, unauthorized repairs, and unethical conduct. read more

For being in the cheap side of town with a cheap looking shop they sure as heck charge premium dealership prices and are twice as crooked as dealership mechanics, i went in for a door and fender fix and they took their time to put 4 hours of labor for the rear bumper 2 hours of labor for the quarter panel (it had no damage) oh and he wanted $1900 to fix the door when a used one cost $700, he was constantly changing the price, making it seem like i was saving money then raising the price when i got into the office after trying to dodge my questions, oh and SANDY GARCIA laughing while writing my estimate didn't help either thinking that i wouldn't notice that big of a scam! The paint job was great. It matched the rest of my car. Before I took my car to Auto Tech, I called several other auto shops to get an estimate, but they did not return my phone calls or respond to my emails, I felt ignored. However, when I called and emailed Auto Tech Collision, they responded to me immediately. After I texted over pictures of the damaged to my car, the manager, Hector Hernandez, responded to me the same day and gave me an estimate the next day. I was surprise how quickly he responded to me compared to the other auto shops in town that never responded to me, even after I called them back several times. Because of Hector's quick response, he gained my trust immediately. This showed me that he is serious. He also appeared very honest over the phone and he was not pushy. He emailed me a list of things that needed to be repaired with my car and he gave me time to think it over before making my decision. I am so very happy with the workmanship and glad I found Hector and his crew! About 4 years ago I was in a windstorm and opened my driver side door when the extreme wind flew the door open and bent the hinges. I had been looking to have this fixed but only got responses like "I need to take the door off and charge $100+ per hour and don't know how long it will take". In the meantime I taped the door close because the wind noise was unbearable and made the whole door vibrate. Hector had one look, gave me a reasonable price range. AMAZING!! I can't say enough positive things about Car Tech Auto. Hector and his crew at Car Tech are the not only the best at their work but also wonderful customer service. I found their shop on Yelp after looking everywhere for someone to fix my 2015 Chevy Tahoe's broken A/C unit. I was about to give up on fixing it after multiple other shops wanted at least $1100 for the work. But having 3 little ones who def need A/C on hot days I decided to do more research. After seeing their 5 star reviews on Yelp I called Auto Tech and was given an estimate of half of what others wanted. He told me the min and max cost it would be to fix and explained the entire process of fixing my A/C. I immediately scheduled an appt. I brought in my Tahoe yesterday and was shocked how perfect they returned my vehicle. Not only did they fix and perfect my A/C but they also washed the exterior but also vacuumed/detailed the interior. It looked brand new! All I have to say is WOW. I'm absolutely FLOORED at the level of service provided and shocked at the low price to get my car detailed. My appointment was easy to set and they got me in the next morning. Upon arrival I was given the option to wait in the waiting room. There was a TV and water. Hector and Sandy were FABULOUS. Polite, chatty and just good honest people. Talking to them made the time fly by. An hour felt like 5 minutes. They had two men working on my car detail so rather than it taking all day I was only there about an hour. My dog has shed everywhere and there was sand from the beach. This body shop is by far one of the worst body shops to visit in Salinas. Not only do they break your car parts or put them back wrong but all their work is shoddy. Frauds. Charge you for parts that are suppose to be OEM when in reality their used parts or they glue them back together to make them look like they fixed them. They charge insurance or you for work they don't even perform. This is a "family owned business" in which they take no pride nor passion to what they do. They vandalized my vehicle and made further damages to it is all they did. Several times I had to keep going back because their was always something done wrong or put back together wrong. This last time I went in I pointed out to hector jr "CEO" all that I saw wrong and all he told me was "Yea, I'm not going to look at anything, file a new claim with your insurance and walked away from me to go hide inside his office." This guy is a joke. Good thing I recorded our whole conversation for my liability. Can't even face his own truths. "Hector jr" is all small talk. I think he uses this tactic to lower you in and take as much money from your pocket as he can. Sorry excuse for men including his brother and father. I'm going to the point where I will be suing this company and getting a complete reimbursement for all their shoddy work. I had a quote to replace an a/c and transmission condeser in my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee (which is a very common problem for the newer jeeps). The quote I received was at a much better price than any other shop that I inquired about having the same job. The process of this type of job is very labor intensive since they have to remove the whole front end of the car. It took them only 3 hours to complete the job and even gave me a complementary car wash inside and out, as well as included a 1 year warranty on the parts and work they completed. Rip off!! took a sunroof to get repaired. I told Hector it was an aftermarket sunroof MADE IT CLEAR. Hector ordered a sunroof once it got here it was the wrong sunroof. told me that insurance do not want to pay anymore. so to proceed and get it fixed. I had to pay $300 out of pocket not only that he charge for paint and paint supplies which none of that was needed beware rip off (SOY CHOLO ...HECTOR ) I called adjuster (it's a he said she said) So I never mentioned it was an after-market sunroof really. read more

I took my sons Volvo in after a collision and it came back to me looking better than it did before the collision. I took my car in for some repair work and what I got back was prompt service, excellent workmanship and a warranty!! Good thing because the part that they replaced was defective (to no fault of theirs) and when I emailed to let them know - they cheerfully told me they would reorder and replace as soon as I was ready!!
