SCAMMER ALERT! Beware of this scammer who will use salvage parts and price them as new. I brought…read moremy car in for a front bumper and radiator installation. When I came to pick it the battery was purposely drained so I couldn't verify that the radiator was installed properly. Spoiler: it wasn't. the fan module was bad and all it took was a simple check with a power probe to figure this out. Meanwhile I had to push my own car out of his garage, call a ride to the nearest Autozone to get a new brand new battery to replace the one he drained. After putting it in I realized that the cooling fan never kicked in when the car reached operating temp. He tried to blame the overheating on a spliced hose leaking but, there wasn't a drop of coolant leaking anywhere on the car. After checking with the power probe I realized the fan module was dead. It costs $50 and only required one tool to install but, this fraud left me with a dead battery outside his shop because he's barely qualified to give quotes for repairs and farms all the work out to day laborers who's qualifications are dubious at best. He talks real big like he knows everything about cars and "can fix anything" but, he doesn't. He couldn't even identify the hose that was spliced. He kept calling it the heater core when it's the coolant overflow hose. His quotes are the cheapest in town because he's rude and doesn't hire qualified mechanics. Matter of fact I think he has dementia because he kept insisting that his guys didn't put a radiator in the vehicle in the first place.

Did some online hunting and landed on Automotive Collision Specialists, Inc. Let's call them ACS. Made an appointment and got an estimate. Very easy. First thing I noticed on the estimate was that ACS was gonna use OEM parts. Other shops I went to wanted to install Made in China parts. I appreciated the fact that ACS would use the best parts available for my car. Also got some modest encouragement about paint quality which was important to me. So I brought the car in on a Monday. They said it would likely be done by Friday. So far all sounded good, but a hiccup entered the process. They had ordered a new bumper cover (the visible external plastic bumper) plus a plastic valence which snaps into the bottom of the bumper cover. This valence part arrived but was damaged in shipping. It was packed in a plastic bag with zero protection against impact injuries. They proceeded to return that part and ordered a second. No good. A third was ordered. No good. A fourth came in, and they thought it might be OK but called me to come take a look. I did and though close to 100%, it still was damaged. Another reorder was done at my request (with no arguments, BTW), and it took the dealer two days, but they got a good part out to the ACS shop. Got a heads-up on this. So the car was quickly completed, and I came over to pick it up. It was literally perfect. Paint, fit of bumper, exhaust pipe alignments, etc. Everything like new. Car was spotless inside and out. Very impressive. I had met some of the guys at ACS. So . . . Ethan, Gary and Alan, thank you for a great job. And please thank the guys in the back for the excellent professional work they did for me.

(I'm assuming he feels sorry for him because I didn't cower to his misogyny and condescension and let him cut me off and insult me). Not only did he keep my vehicle for 3 months with NO WORD to my husband or l (he called us both liars btw), but I left voicemails and a message with the receptionist for him to call me and he never did. His defense was that I must not have cared since I left the vehicle there, and when I was trying to explain that my husband was unable to come during business hours, that he works during that time...and that I also work out of town and this is my first time home in almost a month, he kept cutting me off and started yelling at me. He also lied and gaslighted me when I said I had called and couldn't even leave a voicemail because their phone says voicemail is full. He said he wasn't able to get after market parts, except that also is a lie because I have it at another shop and they are able to get every single piece it needs from Auto Parts outlet in Raleigh, for just under 1500. He told me it would be over 8K to fix it because "all the parts had to be ordered new". Unprofessional, overly aggressive, misogynistic scam artist. Too bad he's not BBB accredited, although this is probably why.

What more can I say…read more.. Collision Masters did a superb job repairing my car after I was in a single-car accident last year. I'm beyond grateful that Sir Walter Chevrolet referred me to Scott and his crew. My accident occurred last summer. My car suffered minor body damage but some of it's air bags deployed. My insurance company opted to consider my car totaled; they didn't want to cover the cost of my repair. Despite that fact, Scott told me that my repair seemed straightforward after thoroughly inspecting my vehicle. I was informed that my repair could be turned around in a couple of weeks under *ideal* circumstances. I decided to give Scott the go ahead to repair my car. CM's stellar reviews and reputation helped to inform my decision. My repair was turned around as quickly as possible during a time when various components for repairs were in limited supply due to pandemic-related supply-chain shortages. Scott and his crew reached out to part distributors out of state, and even across the country, to find the last part needed for my repair. Scott was communicative and transparent throughout the repair process. In my case, if I had walked away from my vehicle, and not bought it back from my insurance company as a "salvage", I would have been thrown into a new and used auto market where car values were inflated due to the pandemic (Summer 22). Attempting to have my (fully paid-off) vehicle repaired was the better option, and I'm thankful that my car was in good hands in an industry where corners may be cut.
