The team at Richie McFarland were so kind and reassuring. My son did not require services of any kind, but they were very helpful with tips and following care if we desired it. The initial intake required a meeting with me and then my son, in which they traveled to my job and to my sons school to do so that I did not have to leave work. He we evaluated at the center as the entire team needed to evaluate during the same time. My husband and I sat on the floor with him and he comfortably played with the women evaluating him.. I was worried it would feel like everyone was just staring and analyzing, but it was the complete opposite. Highly recommend this company.

I was eventually asked to leave this daycare for dropping my son off at 930 because I wanted to have breakfast time with my son some mornings. Also the kids are not allowed to eat out of snack time.... If you like good communication from director and teachers......don't enroll your kids here Everytime I brought up a concern I was given excuses and never given a solution If you like a big play yard free of concrete and gravel...don't enroll your kids here. Most if the kids under one are strapped in a stroller for up to an hour watching the other kids play..so sad If you like to be able to drop your kids off in their rooms in the morning.....not an option here I was here for almost a year and was frowned upon when I asked to drop my son off in his classroom. Bottom line I never felt welcome here and was always looked at differently as soon as I brought up my first concern. I enjoyed one teacher who was great with the kids but they soon cut her hours due to trying to give the kids more freedom so she moved on. I did like the young toddler teacher and was happy with the crafts they did. That was the only thing I enjoyed out of my whole experience here. I would have moved on sooner but my options were very limited. I truly hope they change things here for the kids and parents sake.

They don't cut corners and have a full range of creative ways to help the children learn and grow. The preschool and school room teachers are exceptional. Both my daughters were more than ready for public school education. The outdoor play areas are large and have a very natural feel to them... They go out every day, sometimes several times a day and they do that year round. The classrooms are always changing with projects and paint and a liveliness that makes a parent feel good about trusting their children in these caretakers hands. Truly a wonderful school.

We entrusted Primrose School of Exeter with our two children because we believed in the Primrose…read morereputation and its promise of a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. Unfortunately, by the time we left, our experience was very different. Over our time there, we observed significant turnover among both leadership and classroom teachers. When we first enrolled, the school had several experienced, engaged leaders and teachers who seemed genuinely invested in the children. Over time, much of that consistency disappeared. This became especially concerning with our four-year-old son. We hired a behavioral interventionist at our own expense to work collaboratively with Primrose and develop strategies to support him during constant teacher turnover. After a relatively stable period, his teachers were replaced, and we saw a significant increase in behavioral challenges again, which only were observed at the school. Our interventionist proactively offered to train the new teachers on his behavioral support plan to maintain consistency. The Director declined the offer, stating that reviewing his plan would be "too overwhelming" for the new teachers while they were acclimating to the classroom. We later became aware of serious concerns regarding our son's treatment at the school that ultimately caused us to withdraw him immediately. We have reported those concerns to Primrose Corporate and the NH Child Care Licensing Unit for independent review. Unfortunately, our experience did not end with his withdrawal. The owner insisted that we owed an additional 30 days of tuition despite the circumstances surrounding our son's immediate removal. Approximately one month after his withdrawal, Primrose charged approximately $2,000 to our bank account. We did not authorize that withdrawal and dispute both the charge and their assertion that this additional tuition was owed. Prospective families should be aware of the school's position regarding its 30-day withdrawal policy, even after they themselves stated they could not provide a safe environment for my child, and understand how their payment information may be used following withdrawal. We also frequently found our younger daughter moved among different classrooms without communication. There were occasions when we had to go from classroom to classroom simply to locate her at pickup. We were disappointed by the amount of staff turnover and what we felt was an overreliance on scripted, iPad-based curriculum rather than meaningful teacher-child interaction, particularly given the premium tuition. There ARE individual teachers at Primrose who are wonderful, compassionate people, and we will always be grateful for the teachers who genuinely loved and supported our children. Unfortunately, good individual teachers cannot compensate for broader concerns with leadership, staffing stability, communication, and consistency of care. Every parent deserves to feel confident that their child is safe, supported, and treated with dignity. By the end of our experience at Primrose School of Exeter, we no longer had that confidence.

I was very excited that Heather had just started, coming from the Waldorf school and looking to add more nature and a garden to the center. It took a little bit for them to get back to me at first and things seemed a little disorganized but the director had just started the week before I toured, so I didn't think too much of it. We signed our son up for the infant room a few weeks later and then had about a month and a half before we were due to start. I called two weeks before our start date to try to meet the second infant room teacher that wasn't there either time I came in. At that point I was informed that there was a new head teacher. They almost wouldn't schedule me at all to come in to meet either of them before our start date. They suggested I could meet the teachers when I dropped him off on my first day back. When I said I would feel more comfortable coming in before that, they begrudgingly set up a time for us to come in. When I showed up they said they would have to reschedule, but since they scheduled me on the Friday before we were due to start, and they didn't want to reschedule me for that day, they said I could come in for 10 minutes (after lying and saying all of the babies were napping so I couldn't come in because the teachers both go on break during nap time?). I met the new teacher and while she was nice, she didn't seem very experienced or comfortable with infants. She mentioned that the other teacher was so great with infants because if she couldn't figure out why one was crying she would try to offer them to eat and if they didn't want to eat they must be hungry. I was shocked that the "head teacher" of the infant room would need to be told that. The overall vibe of the room and how they were caring for the infants made me uncomfortable and they said they were going to have to "kick us out" because a few kids were getting hungry (waiting until they were melting down before warming up a bottle) I understand you can't continue to talk, but shouldn't a parent be allowed to be in the room as much as they would like and see how the teachers interact with the kids? They didn't even say hi to my son when he woke up- it was all very unsettling. This, coupled with the fact that at enrollment I was assured they would allow use of cloth diapers, lead me to withdraw my son from their center. They then had the audacity to say that since I hadn't given a 2 week notice, they would want to charge me for another 2 weeks of tuition on top of the enrollment fee and first week tuition deposit. All this, despite the fact that they did not give us any notice that they would be changing staff and when I tried to come in to schedule to meet the new staff, they put me off until the last possible time. They also lied about it being a NH state law that cloth diapers are not allowed. I have since been told that several other teachers have left and the business manager made sure to tell me that with her 45 years of working in childcare, she knows that they have a great facility and that the new head teacher is well educated and great, which is more than she could say for the old head teacher. I asked if she was saying that she wouldn't have sent her own child there under the old head teacher. Her reply was, "well I would have been OK with it... but I can't say more." So that was great that they said how amazing that teacher was and how much she had done for the infant room program during my tour and then proceed to tell me that they wouldn't have been comfortable sending their own family there. They told many lies, and overall seemed very sneaky with tour times. I understand that you're not going to always have a picture of perfection in a room with 7 infants and only two adults, but the fact that they make you leave is concerning. It sounds like there is suddenly a lot of turnover and it is extremely concerning that they are not honest with what is going on. I would much prefer the knowledge that they are making changes and it is a busy time than to be lied to to cover up whatever. I would stay far away from this place!

My youngest is in the infant room and has also been enrolled since he was 11 weeks old. Being a full time working mom is difficult, but Nurture and Nature has made it much easier for my family and I to balance our life away from home. I wouldn't trust my kids in full time care anywhere else. When I was pregnant with my first, we toured many centers. The feeling I got touring N&N was much different than how I felt touring other centers in the area. These teachers truly care about the children. The teachers in the infant room are so nurturing and caring. My little man's face lights up when he sees Miss Jess each morning. My oldest boy is super sensitive and has a hard time being away from his Mommy. The toddler and preschool teachers work with my son to ensure a smooth transition to school on days when he misses me most. He loves to be outdoors and the children spend lots of time enjoying nature. Nature walks and water play in the playground are the highlights of his day. The culture at the center has helped establish a feeling of community. I have become friends with many of the other parents at the center, and I believe our kids will be continue to be friends throughout the years. Parent involvement is significant. Many parents dedicate lots of hours to the center, whether it be on the board of directors, fall/spring cleanup, monthly pantry contributions, or small odd jobs here and there. You can tell how much parents of the children at the center value the community here. There's been some leadership change over the past few years, but our current Director, Jennifer Blackwood, seems to be the perfect fit to continue to foster our great culture here at N&N.

My youngest has been at Mudpies since birth and gets excited everyday at drop-off. He jumps into the arms of the teachers and turns to me to say "bye mama"! It really is the best feeling in the world that our kids love where they spend a lot of their time during the week. They learn so much - always different activities! Also, it is very important to us that our kids play outside everyday and to learn about the environment around them. We love that Mudpies values how important it is for kids to be outside. I really can't say enough good things about Mudpies and most importantly about the staff. I NEVER worry about my kids in their care. They feel like our extended family.
