Over the years, I have moved to different cities and tried new stylists. Some have been wonderful, creating exactly the look I desired, while others went completely off the rail, making me want to put a paper bag over my head until my hair grew out. I have been going to Dee Dee at Elegant Touch for over 2 years now and I couldn't be happier. When I find a stylist who LISTENS and advises me on color choices, cuts to go with my facial structure, and doesn't overcharge, well honey, I remain a loyal customer. Dee Dee does a fantastic job. I'm not rating her performance solely on my own opinion and satisfaction, but a combination of that and the plentiful amount of compliments I am constantly receiving. And the price for these services? You absolutely cannot compete! I tend to find that women often overpay for salon services. They will routinely visit snazzy, upscale salons, where they receive the standard, "trendy" cut with no customization for their face or style, which blends them into the masses. Elegant Touch offers a comfortable atmosphere, superior stylists, and a staff of friendly salon professionals. If you're looking for a unique cut and color, thats tailored to YOU as an individual, then Elegant Touch is the salon for you.

However, my most recent visit resulted in a girl (can't remember her name) with blue hair doing a TERRIBLE job. She didn't pull my whole set of bangs forward so she didn't cut them all, and then she literally cut my hair on a slant. When I pulled my hair forward, one side was shorter than the other. I wanted 4" off but because she botched it, my moms friend had to take an additional 1-2" off to straighten it out -- so much shorter than I wanted it now. I went back and got refunded. Another woman I spoke with said that the girl who botched my hair received 3 complaints that day and has been a problem for over 5 months now. She told me the manager (Katie) would call me to follow up and she never did. I'm very very disappointed with the experience and don't expect to go back again.

Some of them were quite traumatizing. Finally, I ended up back at Regis and just walked in hoping to get a good stylist. As luck would have it, I got what I'd hoped for. For a little over a year now, Katie has been cutting my hair. She makes helpful suggestions about how I could get it cut, and shows me exactly how much she is taking off. She's willing to keep it simple or do something crazy if I wish. She's also very friendly and I enjoy our conversations while she cuts and styles my hair. During a recent visit to the salon, I asked her to recommend a shampoo as my hair had been feeling rather lifeless. She did, and although it's a shampoo for color-treated hair, which mine is not, it brings out the natural color and shine in my hair. They also do a good job with men's hair. My husband has started coming here as well. He finds that he can get the same cut that he was getting at a much more expensive salon. If you're looking for a new hair stylist, chances are you will find a good one here. I never thought it would be at a hair salon in a mall, but I don't care where it is as long as I walk away happy with my hair. Currently, a women's cut and wash will run you $30 before tip here.

I understand that one needs to wait when more people are ahead of you, the thing that flabbergasted me was that there was two people ahead of me and wait time was still zero. I notified the lady who was handling the cash counter but she was not even bothered to fix it. Her argument was that it's not accurate. While other Supercuts locations are following the check in process diligently, this store is luring customers by showing them zero wait time and then asking them to wait for another 90 minutes and making accuses I could've avoided this review but the lady was sitting idle and did not fix the issue when I notified her. Haircut is almost like a commodity business, if you cannot differentiate yourself from Great Clips then at least make your service better. I brought in a photo without a lot of expectation, but my wishes were exceeded. Not only is the color perfect on my skin tone, but the cut and bangs are to DIE FOR! A lot of people recommended What's On Top. After checking a few salon web pages this salon just stuck out to me. The salon is very nice and clean. Is not a big salon I believe they only had three chairs but very welcoming and comfortable. Karen the owner is so nice and friendly. She makes you feel right at home. Actually all of the employees are very friendly. Karen asked me what I wanted and I showed her a couple of pictures from Pinterest for hair color and style. She brings out a couple of color samples and what she suggested would look nice together. Even the hair cut I wasn't 100% sure exactly what I wanted but she was so helpful. All I can say when Karen was done I loved my hair she did such a wonderful job. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair. I will definitely be going back to What's On Top. Once or twice I've realized the next day that the cut wasn't exactly what I wanted. Margie got me right back in to fix me up. The salon is peaceful and friendly. There are plenty of Aveda products available at all times. The location is super convenient off 202 in North Wilmington.
