The ONLY reason I'm giving this Regis 2 stars and not 1 is because I had nothing but great experiences for bang trims and hair trims with Katie. However, my most recent visit resulted in a girl (can't remember her name) with blue hair doing a TERRIBLE job. She didn't pull my whole set of bangs forward so she didn't cut them all, and then she literally cut my hair on a slant. When I pulled my hair forward, one side was shorter than the other. I wanted 4" off but because she botched it, my moms friend had to take an additional 1-2" off to straighten it out -- so much shorter than I wanted it now. I went back and got refunded. Another woman I spoke with said that the girl who botched my hair received 3 complaints that day and has been a problem for over 5 months now. She told me the manager (Katie) would call me to follow up and she never did. I'm very very disappointed with the experience and don't expect to go back again. read more

I've had really good experiences with this Regis location over the years. When my previous hair stylist Lisa-Marie quit, I was back at square one finding someone that I was comfortable with doing my hair. I went through a series of bad hair cuts at other salons. Some of them were quite traumatizing. Finally, I ended up back at Regis and just walked in hoping to get a good stylist. As luck would have it, I got what I'd hoped for. For a little over a year now, Katie has been cutting my hair. She makes helpful suggestions about how I could get it cut, and shows me exactly how much she is taking off. She's willing to keep it simple or do something crazy if I wish. She's also very friendly and I enjoy our conversations while she cuts and styles my hair. During a recent visit to the salon, I asked her to recommend a shampoo as my hair had been feeling rather lifeless. She did, and although it's a shampoo for color-treated hair, which mine is not, it brings out the natural color and shine in my hair. They also do a good job with men's hair. My husband has started coming here as well. He finds that he can get the same cut that he was getting at a much more expensive salon. If you're looking for a new hair stylist, chances are you will find a good one here. I never thought it would be at a hair salon in a mall, but I don't care where it is as long as I walk away happy with my hair. The previous reviewer was right, but the African American stylist thst works there her name is Tye not kei. Lol but no worries, Tye is wonderful and works wonders on my hair. I myself am Africsn American and my hair has three textures semi coarse/curly/wavy hair. And tye makes my Madness into a beautiful shiny masterpiece. Tye is also very versatile and can do many different hair types no matter what ethnicity you are tye can get the job done! She does coarse, fine, wavy, curly, u name it she can do it! She also does a nice job on men's cuts as well. So Stop at regis and book fir tye ladies! I rate her 5 stars The one thing is that she tends to do hair a little bit slow, but I personally like that because she's taking her time and not using as much heat in my hair. But other than that I absolutely love her! I rate her 5 stars! Regis Salon - Tye's beautiful work on my hair - Hair Salons Near Me - Springfield, Pennsylvania

I came in as a walk in on a Saturday afternoon for a last minute style (loose curls) for a wedding that I'd completely forgotten about. I was sure that I'd be turned away like I was when I called my regular salon but to my surprise, Laura was able to fit me in right away. Personally I cannot curl my own hair unless you count twirling it around my finger. Still sometimes this method turns out better than the attempted "loose curl" done by hair stylists so I'm always a bit nervous about the end result. Travesties could include: curls too tight, hair too big, hair with a crunch like texture due to over spraying, too wet due to styling lotions, too loose due to brush out... You get the picture. Laura seems to have this all in mind and a systematic curl/style process that leaves no room for error. She is time efficient without rushing through all while being super friendly. I got my hair cut there once before and loved it with no problems but when I went again recently my it was not that great. I got around 7 inches cut off my hair and requested a long layer put in but instead I ended up with a haircut that took two hours and is not straight at all. The hair cut took so long that even though the stylist washed my hair she was still cutting long after it had become bone dry. Now I have to take myself elsewhere to get my hair cut straightened out and even which means cutting even more length off my hair which was not what I wanted. read more

Kei is the sweetest and funniest hair stylist; first African American girl I've met who speaks Bengali yayyy :) She managed to keep the highlights classy. Stopped in a few months ago and Sasha took me for a haircut with only 15 minutes notice. I'm so glad I went in. Got the best haircut of my life - my hair never looked this full and voluminous! When my normal stylist left the salon I'd been going to for years, I panicked. I saw the reviews online for this salon and gave it a try. I have very thick, natural hair and I was looking for someone with experience cutting African American hair. My stylist, Tye, was awesome. She communicated with me and told me how much she thought I needed cut off. She listened to me and also gave helpful tips on how to take care of my hair. She is very nice and will do what you ask. I left the salon very happy. I recommend her. read more

I was introduced to this chain while living in Hawaii a few years back. The girl I went to constantly made me feel welcomed and comfortable and so after a few appointments, I let her dye my hair and I was so happy. Unfortunately I moved and since then I have found it so hard to find someone to go to on a regular. Back in September I told myself to just give this location a shot and if the Hawaii location was good so should this one. I can't remember the girls name but as far as her personality she was nice and spoke to me the entire time. I believe I saw another girl but she went to the back and I didn't see her again. It was just me, the stylist and another client who was a male getting his greys touched up. To get right to it, she washed my hair in one minute. Which has never happened to be before, especially due to the fact that I have long wavy hair. She then blew out my hair in 30 mins on low heat.. at first I didn't say anything I'm like maybe she'll go over it with a straightener. Nope. Again I'm too nice for my own good, I pay and give a good tip. I walk over to target and as I was walking by the mirrors I saw my hair and literally looked like a troll. My hair had tripled in size which honestly didn't surprise me. I went back to Regis and told the girl I was sorry to be back but my hair wasn't acceptable to the price I paid. She apologized and said she felt rushed because of the guy sitting with dye in his hair... first tjngs first, I could have waited. No biggie. But my appointment deserves as much attention as any you give. So I was given a half ass appointment because she felt rushed and doesn't know how to time manage. She went over my top area with a straightener and that was it. I left and touch up my hair myself at home. I thought about writing a review then but opted out because I like to think maybe people just have bad days. Now Friday approaches and I decide to give this place a go again.. This time I'm thinking of adding a little color because of an event I have coming up In a few days. Me and the women discuss some options on the phone and she then schedules me for Saturday @ 6 (yesterday). Basically the appointment never happened. At around 3 I called to reschedule because work had pulled me away. I felt so bad I called three times and twice more at 6 and never got answered or received a call back. Wow, what a terrible experience. This was my first time calling Regis Salon, and I was happy that they were able to offer me a same-day appointment. I showed up for my 3:30 appointment with Sasha. She promptly brought me to her chair and asked me what I wanted done. I said just a trim and I also mentioned that it had been a while since I got a cut. She first asked me (or so I thought) how long it had been. That wasn't actually what she was asking. Ooops, sorry! She proceeded to ask me who normally cuts my hair and I didn't quite know how to answer because in the summers I go to the beach and in the winter I use 2 different stylists. She immediately seemed annoyed that I didn't answer her question. Next, she asked me who cut it the last time. Oh, geeze............. (I thought) I honestly don't remember and told her exactly that. Again, I felt that she was annoyed with me. Ok, so let's move on and just forget all that, right??? So she washes & conditions my hair and brings me back to her chair. I mention that I have a coupon (that Regis sent to me for registering with them - it's not like I asked for it, they offered it to me!) and again I could feel some tension. She then asks how I got the coupon and tells me that usually the coupons are for their repeat customers. I was totally flabbergasted! How stinking rude!!!!! I immediately asked her why she was so annoyed with me and told her that it made me very uncomfortable. She really didn't seem to care and started making excuses that made no sense (i.e. "it's just normal conversation with a client"). I told her I'd be leaving, and I did so with a sopping wet head of hair. She never tried to apologize and could care less that she offended me, several times. I then went around the corner from my house, to Richard Douglas Salon where I was quite happy to pay full price for my haircut and leave the stylist a 25% tip, because I was treated with dignity and respect! Had Katie and she was awesome! Quick and attentive, she's very personable as well. I'm very low maintenance but I can say she's pretty good with the scissors. My first experience at Regis was better than expected, I will return. read more
