I went in today for the first time and It was not a very pleasant experience at all for me one man left to go eat he was going to have to wait so long Another lady set angry because she had been looked over while several had been taken before her and There were a lot of empty booths It looked to me as tho they were short-handed I was not impressed at all I Left and will look elsewhere read more

Great Clips is just that!! Great. I've never had a disappointing haircut and have used them exclusively since they first opened in Denton at Carroll Blvd! The online checking saves so much time. My hair is cut as I request and that is quite short. Estella is the young lady who cuts my hair at the Rayzor Ranch location. She always remembers how I like it cut. I have been here a few times myself for trims and always had a good experience. The cut I get here seems completely equal to the cuts I get for $60 elsewhere. I decided to write a review because I took my 2 year old in, after 3 previous (horrible hair cuts) by one of those cutesy kids places for double the price. This was a much quicker experience, and the hair cut was superior. They let me hold her, gave her a special cape, and she got a lollipop after. I couldn't be happier with the experience. This is the first review I've ever written on Yelp, but I felt compelled to due to the great experience I had. The staff was very friendly and accommodating; great customer service. I have very fine thin hair that I'm trying to grow out. I've had my hair butchered a few different times so I'm always apprehensive about getting a trim. Tammy, my stylist, listened and did exactly as I requested. She made me feel very comfortable and suggested some products to help my hair. I will definitely be going to this Great Clips again! I started going to Great Clips on Teasley when I first moved to Denton 6 years ago. It was close to me and very convenient, also offered a senior discount. But the last three times I've been, I've had three different stylists and after leaving, I had to book with another stylist in a different salon to fix the awful mess they made of my hair. Today I tried telling the stylist several times that she'd left it too long and too bushy, but she ignored me and was ready to move on to her next customer. I left her a very good tip, in spite of that. But I will never go back. read more

This is where I now take my boys. They are 3 and 7, so if you're a woman looking for info on a stylist, this review isn't going to help you. BUT...if you have a 7 year old that likes his hair done in a surfer cut or a 3 year old that has kicked and screamed in the chair (sigh)...then this review might help. We've had two stylists now that handled my terrible toddler well. In fact, the last girl was so good with him that he wasn't terrible. He just sat with his fists clenched while she cooed and teased him. The other stylists did well at getting the "spikey on top but short on the side" surfer cut that my oldest likes. They always seem to be moderately busy, even on weekdays, but you can call ahead and put your name in. One guy put his name in over the phone and between every waiting customer, they called his name, just in case he had arrived. (I never saw him, but it was nice to see them honoring their policy.) read more

I took my son and nephew to get a haircut and take advantage of the $6.99 summer special. The girls cutting their hair were great. They talked to the boys and made them feel welcome. I had just gotten a hair cut a couple of days ago and asked if they could tell if my hair was evenly cut. Alex, the girl cutting my boys hair said she would be happy to take a look. As it turns out I did have an uneven side. She gladly fixed the problem for no charge and did it with a happy heart. I will go to this Great Clips from now on and ask for Alex. read more

My stylist was Sarah R. I just moved back to Denton so I was apprehensive about getting a trim by someone new. I've been trying to grow my hair from a bob, and have been taking very good care of it, but I have all but accepted that at least an inch and a half must come off every three months because of the "evening it out" process. There was no wait. I walked in and got seated immediately. I was all ready to beg for her to try to be modest with the amount of hair that came off and to not be too scissor-happy, but I only got as far as "I'm trying to grow it out-" before she chirped "Honestly your hair is super healthy, I'm going to give you a baby trim and cut off only what you need!" Those words were music to my ears. She even told me it was slightly longer in the front but it wasn't noticeable. She cut off like half a centimeter. Honestly she earned herself a long term customer, and I am willing to drive the extra 20 minutes every three months to have her cut my hair. I have never met a hairstylist that honest. So if you need a trim-this place is great! read more

I'm not one to write reviews normally, however, when someone's confidence gets destroyed from a simple "TRIM", that's when I'll say something. I came here today to get a bang trim. Nothing drastic, half an inch to get my hair out of my eyes. The lady, didn't get her name, didn't care to. She was young, and didn't look too confident when bringing the scissors to my hair. CUT them, above my eyebrows. I also mentioned my hair was straightened, so cut a little at a time, right?! Nope, she went for it. Paid & went to my car. Came back in, told them I wasn't happy, I was really upset. Had someone else "touch up" the ends so they didn't look so choppy, and even more length was taken off. I got my money back, and was sent away. To say I'm absolutely devastated, is an understatement. My hair is where my confidence is, and you really messed with that. I had to immediately go out and buy headbands because I knew I'd be wearing one at least for the next couple weeks. I won't be returning, I also suggest going somewhere ELSE for a bang trim. Don't let someone ruin your confidence like this. You'll regret it. read more
