Third time I've tried to walk in here to get my hair styled (which is an option on their menu and website) only to be told that their policy is that they need more than 2 people working to do a style. I asked if there is ever a time that they have more than 2 people working and she said it's rare (I have been there on weekends and weekdays and it's been a strikeout). I would suggest they remove this from their menu/offerings (or make this policy and staffing more transparent on when they do offer). I have unfortunately wasted a lot of time and want to warn others! read more

I got better things to do! The posted opening time at this location is 10AM, I was just about to give up when just after a half-hour later, some guy showed up inside. He walked up to the door, unlocked it and walked away. No apology for making two other patrons and I stand around outside, couldn't even be bothered to push open the door to let us in. After waiting around for the employee to put away all his stuff and disappear into the backroom, I gave my spot to the elderly person behind me in line and went home. While we were waiting, an employee from the phone store next door came out and volunteered that the Great Clips NEVER opens on time. Look, I realize its just Great Clips and they don't get the top-of-the-line stylists due to their business model, but people deserve to be treated better than the three of us were. Great Clips...? Use to stop by on my way home from work. They use to be open until 8pm for years. Then Covid came and they started closing at 6pm. Covid is over and the owner should really go back to staying open until 8pm. It was much more convenient for people who work later to get in for a hair cut. Several other local salons are open until 7pm. The staff had always been nice, but I showed up at 5:45pm as a walk in and was told they couldn't do another haircut. No one was waiting and the 2 stylists were finishing up the cuts they were on. Very disappointed read more

These girls deserve 5 stars!!!! I came in with a slightly challenging haircut request that even seasoned Barbers have trouble delivering often times. I sat down with Emma and she did a consult, listening keenly to what I was looking for and asked a few key questions to be sure that we were on the same page. I asked for a mid-fade with a slight drop and a bit of preservation near the temples to add some shape and framing, taken to skin below the fade line. I told her about how much length I wanted left on the top with a slight bit of extra length being left in the bangs. Emma started out by laying down a hardline to set her guide for my fade and I could tell immediately that she'd listened during the consult, which doesn't always seem to happen at some places. She continued to blend out the line until it was perfectly blurred out and had a seamless transition into the top. Afterwords she even asked if I wanted to be lined up at all in the front or around my face for extra crispy lines. I told her sure, just not the front hairline (extra points for asking because I've had people just line up my front hairline without asking and then it takes me months to grow it back in, otherwise I have to maintain it throughout the week). She edged up around the front of my sideburns and in front of my temples like a delicate ninja. In the end it was everything I wanted and she even got the length on top exactly how I was hoping! I believe these places are sometimes pushed to do a cut within a certain time frame but really appreciated the way that Emma took the extra time to nail down precisely what I had asked for without sending me on my way simply because the clock dictated that it was time and I was sure to recognize her for that with a very well deserved and healthy gratuity... I recognize that this industry has seen some challenging times and feel that they deserve some extra help if possible for being there and keeping my hair game on point. The only negative here (and I'm reluctant to share because I'm worried Emma is going to be highly sought after and tough for me to get a spot with in the future) is that she mentioned only being part time and working around 20 hours or less per week...I hope I can ask her schedule next time and call ahead if possible to make sure she's available. If you're reading this Emma girl, you have a bright future in this industry and not only your talent but your service is top notch! Thank you Emma and stay hungry and teachable always! I hope you're still there in a couple weeks when I need another cut!! read more

Went here today as my hair stylist is in Larkfield and I just needed a simple trim. I asked for above the eyebrows, which to her meant uneven and short. I mentioned that it was uneven and a little short she said so it is. She tried to fix and made it even worse! Does this picture look like a decent haircut!??!! Had the pleasure a week ago stop in and get a quick haircut. Frankly it had been quite awhile since I had one and was seriously overdue. This location had opened up earlier in the week and they were offering a great grand opening special. How could I pass that up! After a short wait, Eve, the assistant manager, called me up and asked me what I wanted to do with my hair. I explained my style and she just dug in and brought it back to life; actually spending more time on my hair because, seriously, it had been awhile since I my last hair salon visit and my hairstyle was hiding in the mop on my head somewhere. Well, Eve did a fantastic job. She not only brought my style back to life, she took care of the walk-in clients, answered the phone and help out the other stylists with the register. And she never lost a beat with my cut whatsoever! I have to say, this location of Great Clips is going to give the other hair salon in Healdsburg's Vineyard Plaza a run for their money. Now, I have been a long time client of the other salon, but their has been no consistency with the stylists. Just when I get used to one, they leave. I think I have found a new stylist with Eve and will go back to her whenever possible. Now for some technical things: 1. Not understanding why Great Clips has a reservation option on line when you're not able to select a time. When I got there a few hours later, they had removed my name but found my online registration. They put me at the bottom of the current list. When I finally got to the chair, noticed that an apparent mother of one of the employees was called before another person in line. She made it loud and clear that she forgot to register online. Not sure what's going on in that shop, but I won't be going back! Let's do the right thing people! read more

She cut off at leadt 4 in. more than we discussed, I adked not to have the back cut blunt which she did, I also asked for long layers. Which she didnt do. She said I could come back for layers. I was not impressed by my daughter's haircut yesterday. I dropped her, paid (with a decent tip) and explained to the stylist what my daughter wanted, even showed her a picture. I then went to get my nails done and not 15 minutes later my daughter shows up (paid for the shampoo too) and her hair is much shorter than we had discussed. Daughter then tells me that the stylist was complaining the whole time about how she was hungry and needed to get lunch. She basically just chopped her hair off and did not do anything we had asked, No layers like we had asked. I think she took advantage just because I wasn't there to make sure she was doing it correctly. I can't remember her name, neither can my daughter, but she had brown hair and an accent. I just visited this shop on a Sunday afternoon, and although I don't ask for much as far as a hair cut goes, I was extremely happy with the job that was done.
