I've been a Great Clip customer for several years and have learned there is wide variation in talent and experience of their cutters so consistency is always an issue. The problem might be turnover.since I never see familiar faces at each visit. Yesterday was no exception. One thing I've learned is you're either going to love your cut or youre going to spend the next few days shopping for hats. Yesterday was a hat shopping day. The nice person.who cut my hair at the Hershey location needs further training. She read.my preferences and was going to use the no.5 blade to cut the sides.The pictures below demonstrate the difference in what it typically looks like and the outcome after this cut. I mistakenly asked her if she could use scissors instead of the clippers so there would be a better transition from the top. BIG MISTAKE, The result overall looks like I have the mange. Patchy, uneven areas with wisps sticking out. No transition of layers or blending. Yikes. Just awful. I bought barber clippers today to remove the mistakes and just take it down. Again. I walked into Great Clips on Jonestown rd and the atmosphere was very cold unwelcoming the manager or the lady whoever she told me she was not gonna cut my hair.. didn't want nothing to have any conversation when a friendly hi was started. Jasmine was amazing. She took her time and she had a great conversation, but the atmosphere was very cold and unwelcoming. Don't know if I wanna be back. read more

Girl was friendly but she totally chopped shop my hair. Layers that are blunt cuts. wanted it to fit in ponytail at neck and there are chunks of pieces that don't reach. She just kept cutting and cutting. This place is for straight but only. read more

sitting here waiting for a cut wondering what happened... checked in online and came into the place after over an hour wait on the app, proceeded to sit for 15 minutes before anyone recognized I was here, then a hispanic girl (would use her name if I could) checked me and then just disappeared with hair all over the ground where she got done with a cut without cleaning it up. I've now been in the place for near an hour. There's also only one worker here trying to manage everything. There's been 5 other guys that have come in behind me, a couple of them leaving.. the cuts are never bad but is getting people to work these days that tough?? Is it normal to have one person working on Saturday?? read more

Worst haircut that I ever had! My hair was butchered. Might be good for a guys cut, but not for a stylish women's cut.

Not recommended, the one stylish was standoffish, and not pleasant. Had to go back to have an issue fixed.

I've loved taking my girls to Great Clips!! The entire team has always been welcoming. They ask questions and have made my girls feel comfort in what they want in their haircut. Sam has been FANTASTIC every. single. time!!!! She is kind and caring. She does a great job cutting/styling. My girls will really miss getting their hair cut by her as we relocate to another state. I'll miss seeing her. She's such a wonderful person. :) Also, the location is great! Right downtown and next to Starbucks. You can go in, put your name in (if I forget to use the App to sign in) and go next door to grab a coffee if you need to wait. But I never have to wait a long time. read more

I went to get a simple haircut because the place I usually go was not open that day. I was asked to register, which I did, and I did not check in online because I did not know about this. That is my error, as this was my first time going to great clips, and I recognized that this would delay me in the queue. However, I subsequently watched five additional people come in after me, and receive a haircut before I was called. As there were two stylists working, this was a significant wait. While the first two were called before they learned of an error by a staff member in putting me in the queue, the rest were not. Three were people that came in and called back after this mistake was acknowledged, and they still got called in ahead of me. I will say this was not due to animosity on part of the staff towards me, but simply being unable to manage the store appropriately. Staff did acknowledge that I was ahead of everyone there before I left so I know that at least one person was aware. I decided it was best not to waste my time at this location anymore. I can wait another week to go to a superior location with superior service and staff. This was a disappointing experience, and I will never return to great clips ever again. I would recommend that other customers consider an alternative with superior customer service, such as Sport clips, Supercuts, or any mom and pop Barber shop before considering great clips, because it is likely you will get the same product with a better and more courteous customer experience. The prices could be better but I do not know this. If I got a bad haircut there AND there were a zero-star review option, those are the only things that would lower their score. If you want to watch Netflix for an hour you can do it from your couch and at least feel more comfortable. I had plenty of time to write this review while sitting waiting between the 4th and 5th people to be called. read more

Sam cut my hair today and she was the best! I never write reviews but I wanted to make sure she got a shoutout because I was super impressed with my cut. I went in knowing I wanted layers and some face framing but she knew exactly how to cut my hair for my face shape. My hair has so much more volume and looks so much healthier as well. I am beyond happy with how my hair turned out. Sam had such a great personality too, super easy to talk to and super nice! Thank you Sam!! read more

This was a disaster! I went there because I thought, "I just need a simple, 3 inches cut, straight, no style, just straight." Nope. I said I wanted 3 inches off my hair, and the hairstylist argued and said it needed 5 inches. Then, she proceeded to cut 8 inches off my hair!!!! This was so bad...it should have been so simple. In addition, the hair was not even cut straight. I had to go to another salon and lose another inch just to straighten it out. Oh my.... read more

Fantastic location. Very clean, stylists are friendly and extremely professional. Halecha worked quickly and gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. They are taking all necessary precautions for COVID, spacing people out, wearing masks appropriately. I felt quite safe getting a haircut despite the pandemic. read more

I went to Great Clips on Good Friday. This was my 4th time there since they opened last Nov. I was assured by the stylist at my first hair cut that hair cuts would be consistent due to Clip Notes which the stylist would read before staring the hair cut. That is as our US President is soooo famous for saying "FAKE NEWS!!!!!" I'm very disappointed with my last hair cut. If the stylist had read the notes she would have seen I specified that my hair not BE LAYERED!!!! The stylist did ask if I wanted my ears cut out to which I said "no" and thanked her for checking. But what she didn't ask and took upon her self was to chop the hair at the nape of my neck down to little more than stubble and she also layered it!!!! I have an unusual hair line there and chopping the hair basically down to nothing will cause my hair to stick straight up until it grows to a manageable length, which will be months, due to the her chop job!!! I may try Great Clips again but the scissor happy stylist will never touch my hair again!!!! read more

Worst haircut I have ever received at a Great Clips! There were only 2 employees there and they spent their time talking about one of them thinks she's pregnant and how to tell her "boyfriend" and how they are short handed (Duh!) and maybe a friend of her friends could help out because he only failed one part of the exam. Meanwhile I had asked for a short haircut, which I "assumed" would be the same length on each side! My mistake. I had to point out one spot that was much longer than any other part (it was sticking out!) and she kept cutting until it is now the shortest part of my hair! When I went to check out, she rang up the regular price and I had to tell her I was a senior. She said "Well how old are you?" If she couldn't tell I was a senior she needs glasses! I had to tell her I was 75! I'll be wearing a hat until this mess grows out and I can go to a real hair stylist. read more
