Great Clips has coupons on Facebook. We had one advertising an $11.99 haircut with a code for the discount. This store has historically ALWAYS accepted the coupon as long as it was unexpired and specified a NJ store. After the haircut, they said the code was invalid and the full price of the haircut was $24.99. Reasonable for a haircut, but not when you have a valid coupon for $11.99. The owner of this store owns 8 Great Clips locations. Beware if you have a coupon. Your safest move is to use a Great Clips not in Marlboro or wherever else this owner has a store. Marlboro Rt 9 location. Staff not very friendly. Quality of work mediocre, i.e neither good or bad. Was first to arrive w two people at 10:45 am, that needed haircuts. One person (anna) is disabled (uses walker). The other a senior (Mike, my hubby) They took our names and enter us into the system. names Mike & Anna, showed up on the screen. No other names were on the list. As I'm walking Anna over to the chair, a guy walks into the salon. Instead of taking my hubby Mike, the other stylist take this guy. My husband was furious! Mind you there are only two stylists in the salon at this hour. You would think you have two people first arrive one with a visible disability that you would want to complete the service get them out of your salon asap! Instead, you take this walk in! These employees at the Marlboro location are some of the laziest hairdressers I have ever seen! One old Spanish lady buzzed my daughter l's hair with clippers to trip the bottom! She was done in less than three minutes and she expected to get paid AND tipped for her lousy job! Meanwhile,I was getting a real trim and my hair wasn't yet! Went to Great Clips to get my hair cut and donate it. Worst haircut ever, she put it in a ponytail up too high and cut it. I told her before she started that I didn't want short layers, she said fine. well she cut with scissors and almost up to the top of my head really short and left top longer to cover some of it. I don't know how i'll ever get it straightened out. She was having a bad day and complaining about it and took it out on my hair. I wrote to Great Clips and have not heard back. My wife took my two daughters to get a haircut and it was a horrcible experience! One daughter had a stylist who was friendly and did an okay job, but my other daughter was treated rudely and curtly as soon as she sat on the chair! The stylist name was Denise. Denise forcibly pushed my daughter around when positioning her head, and one time even yanked her smock by the neck to have her sit back. She seemed irrationally angry despite not having an issue chit chatting with the prior Caucasian customer. Denise seemed perturbed that my wife wanted my daughter to be masked. Denise angrily said that it would be hard to cut around the ears , so it was agreed to have the mask off. Yet, she continued to mumble under her breath who knows what. All my wife could make out was ,"oh my god" under her breath. This ended with my daughter running out of Great Clips in tears and her crying throughout the car ride home. My other daughter witnessed this and asked if it was racist and now my wife and I are trying to explain what happened to the kids. I am telling them that you can't let a few sour apples spoil your day. In my mind, I am seriously losing faith in humanity with everything going on this past year and half. We will likely not come back as my kids are scarred for life. It's a shame all it takes is a nasty employee to ruin things, but ultimately they represent the brand. I went to get haircut and got nicked (cut) over my left ear. Walked out with bloody ear. Lady was not apologetic immediately but once she saw blood gushing; she applied some quick antiseptic and apologized. There were 4/5 employee present and no one raised the concern (including the person cutting my hair) and It felt like this was normal for them to go through on daily basis. I would completely avoid as they probably hire some pre-mature and unexperienced employee that has no regards for safety of the customer. read more

I've had mixed experiences in the past, but Luz listened to my desired hairstyle and satisfied my requests with ease and precision. Haircut was only $17 and it was a quick wait. However not what I asked for. I asked for 2 inches off my hair (which is more than half way down my back) and got shoulder length hair. I also asked for layers and got all one length instead. Half of their hairstylists never came back so I feel they had to hire whoever they could and unfortunately it shows! Great Clips at 67 U.S. 9, Morganville, NJ 07751 I just had a terrible experience with my young son's haircut. Went into the local great clips in Marlboro. Middle aged woman hair dresser - they said her name is Denise. She seemed to not be the nicest from the start. We saw that she was the only hair dresser not wearing a mask. Ok. I respect her decision as long as she respects ours (we were wearing masks). I did not ask her to put a mask on. I didn't wait for another hair dresser for my son. We switched my son's mask to the straps only behind the ears so it wouldn't interfere with the hair cut. Ok. What does she do? While my wife and I are sitting there, she tells my son to take his mask off! My son is young and obeys authority and did so. We then see him without a mask and get up and ask her what happened. She tells us she told him to take it off for her to work. I was incredulous. I told her why didn't she ask us - we were sitting right there! I then pointed out the obvious - that she doesn't have a mask on and yet wanted my son's off. I said that we didn't push our decision onto her by asking her to wear a mask but she then takes it upon herself to order a kid to take his off?! While the parents are sitting right there!. Her self centered narcissism overrides the consideration and rights of others. She has no business working there. read more

Staff was very nice as was the woman who cut my daughter's hair and we didn't wait long as a walk in. Needed a basic haircut for my tween daughter. All one length on very long hair. Had about 3.5 inches cut off.. no layers, no angling. It is visibly very very uneven by about 1-2 inches in front.. not even close. Didn't want to spend a lot for a basic haircut but now need to take her somewhere else to fix this. We didn't notice this unevenness until we got home. I go to Great Clips every so often just for a hair cut or a trim mostly because it is less expensive then my regular hair salon. Especially if I am not getting a color or any other treatment. Well, I made the decision to cut my hair short a couple of months ago do to it not being healthy. I wanted to cut it so it can grow in nice. The first time I had to go twice because it wasn't cut the way I wanted it even tho I had a picture, both times. But it wasn't bad so I lived with it since its temporary until it grows out. I went back this week for a touch up, just the ends cut and the women said my long layers weren't even. I told her just to clean it up, just the very end, split ends to be cut. I gave 1 and was told I owe $7.98 ,Ok I gave the 2nd card, I was told nope, It had to be cash or credit. They wouldn't take the 2nd gift card. "there system can't handle that. I was just saved by Sandra at Great Clips! When another pricier salon across the street (Metro) told me my 10:00 appointment was going to be more like 10:30 because they just started coloring another client's hair, I was in a jam -- needed to be somewhere at 11:00. I hauled it quickly over to Great Clips and Sandra gave me a quick trim to my graduated bob that looked fabulous and for half the price. I'll definitely be back. I've been here a handful of times and sadly I won't return. I bring a picture to show exactly what I want in terms of length and this last trip they totally ruined my hair. Last time they left it uneven. In the spirit of "everyone has a bad day", I gave them another chance. I understand it's only $15 for a cut, but if I can't get at least a correct cut then what's the point? I specifically asked for length to be just below my collar bone and I even pointed to it so there would be no confusion and now my hair is actually above my shoulders. Very busy place. Be prepared to wait regardless of what the app says. Walked in on time, 5 mins before app said that the time was up. Still ended up waiting for another 20 minutes. Very rude front desk compared to other locations I have been to at South Brunswick or West Windsor. Cutting staff were quick and no time for extra care as the lines are long. Be prepared to speak up and ask for small things like side Burns and back trim to be done as they don't do it on their own. In and out. Place is clean and easy access. Looks like a convenient place due to the shops in the strip mall, otherwise I don't see why would anyone sit and listen to canned music! read more

I've been getting my hair cut at this location for over 8 years. I have never had a bad cut. The staff is always friendly, professional, and very accommodating. Shary and Natalia are great and always do a meticulous job on my hair. I even started bringing my mother and my sister to get their hair cut here. I have been at this location many times for a quick haircut. No it is not fancy, but that keeps down the price. Depending on your budget you can just get a haircut where they just went your hair with a spray bottle, a wash and cut, etc. I've actually have gotten better haircuts here than at pricier salons. They also have an online check in system where you can see how long the wait is, check in, and go to the head of the line when yo get there.
