I don't get any color, just a trim when needed. My first visit was back in January of this year and second today. (: The only thing I was confused about was the surcharge situation. I tried to use a debit card the second time around but was told that the only way to avoid the surcharge was by using cash. I would recommend Mode to double check the legality of this with their credit card processor. From my understanding, not allowing customers to avoid the surcharge through cash or debit is illegal in the state of Nevada. There should also be a notice around the payment area that they are surcharging so that way people are aware before being charged. The first time I went I remember not being told that my credit card would by surcharge so I took a debit card for my second visit and that's when I was told a debit would still be charged the surcharge fee. Other than that, I really recommend this salon. You can tell they take pride in the work they provide to their customers and listen to any and all concerns about your appearance and the outcome of your hair.

Jamie was amazing!! he nailed the style I've had others attempt and fail. he explained everything so I could understand it, and also explained how differently my hair would react and several options for "taming" it. A very great outcome and I would recommended anyone go there. They don't take appointments but you can check in online. She was very kind however said I would only achieve that rounded look with styling. I've very low maintenance and my hair used to have bounce, maybe age and postpartum changed my hair but anyways. I asked for length at the bottom and shorter layers on the top. Specifically the crown to get more volume. Joanne made sure I was comfortable with the amount of length she took from the back, which was appreciated. She actually checked in with the shortness of the shortest layer too, but after she blended the rest of my hair - it doesn't look quite blended now that I'm home examining it. I have a wavy/curly texture so maybe it wouldn't be as noticeable after I wash my hair. Overall I'm not crying over something that'll grow back, but I'll probably figure out how to cut my own hair again. If my hair looks fine after I wash it, I'll update the rating.

Rather than asking how they could fix it or offering to restyle my hair, they made no effort to make it right. A professional blowout should leave your hair looking full, smooth, and styled, and if a client is unhappy, there should at least be an effort to correct it. Sadly, that was not my experience. I called a couple of days ahead of time to see about scheduling an appointment for a relaxer and she quoted me that her relaxers start at $90 and that includes a trim. $90 is EXTREMELY overpriced for a relaxer, but I was willing to pay for someone that got decent reviews and sounded professional over the phone. I have shorter, bobbed hair that stops right above my shoulders. Once she started on my hair, it took only 5-7 mins for my relaxer to be put in....no tugging, no fighting through knots, it was simple. Once she shampooed my relaxer out and began to condition my hair, she told me that my price had gone from $90 to $135 because of the length and thickness of my hair, and also because I waited so long to get a relaxer. My entire life, I have always gotten a relaxer after 6-8 weeks of new growth and never once has any hair dresser told me that I waited too long to the point they'd have to up charge me. Either way, I feel that I was gypped out of almost $50 because she should have told me before she started service on my hair that my price would be $135, since she'd seen my thickness and length once I walked through the door. I also burned pretty badly on the side of my face, past my hairline and there was no acknowledgement of that. My last complaint is that I asked way ahead of time if I could use my credit card to pay for my services and I was told it was perfectly fine. However, once it was time to pay, I was slightly pressured into using the Cash App because that's how she preferred it, regardless if a credit card is what worked best for me. My hair turned out okay, but nothing I would EVER in life pay the amount I did. After this experience, my recommendation would be to triple and quadruple check what price(s) your expected to pay for your requested services, and clarify what method of payment you'll stick to using.
